Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

Wow, that illustration was really pretty. Pointless, that is. In fact, someone's got WAY too much time on their hands.

Seriously, to the author of that fine work of art.....GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!!

It's summer. The weather's warm. There are plenty of other things to do than fantasize and theorize about CP's next coaster. Go donate your time to a local charity or something. Put all the effort to good use.

Okay, end rant. Sorry 'bout that.

YES there is some retarded stuff in this thread but in the end it's a bunch of people talking about a new roller coaster.

The length of the thread as of recently is people making fun of the fact that it's so long. THAT is the actual humor.

I just wanna see an announcement... not any time soon, just looking forward to when they announce the new coaster. At this point, I'd rather have this topic locked than see people complain about or make fun of it.

I actually personally apologized to the Alveys for this thread at SFMM. Oy...

What is the difference between LIMs or LSMs?

Sorry about all those evils.

I think CP should get a LIM launched flying coaster from Intamin. It would be thoe first type as someone stated earlier that some dude said it would be something that has never be done.

Only problem is that Intamin doesn't do flyers. Last time I checked, thats BM/Vekoma territory. As for that photo, it looks good until it went out of the park. I havent seen any photos of supports outside of that section yet.

Hey maybe they will name it TTMF, Top Thrill Magnum Force?

I still think it's going to be the new Vekoma inverted wooden LIM water coaster that uses intamin tracks as supports, and intamin supports posts as abstract art design seeable only from the que area. Duh!

But unlike other prototypes this one is even enviroment friendly, no oils spills in the water this time, all nails will be donated from mean streak along with mean streaks lumber, which funny no one seems to notice missing?

I mean really, what else could it be I ask you?

Cheers!

......One of those days

Hey my source is reliable, scr#ew the dip n dots guy, I go straight to the dudes at pet check, they seem to know all the inside workings. You need intel, find pet check.

I heard it was going to be a standup floorless inverted wooden coaster that was going to use modified Manhattan Express trains. Can anyone confirm this?

Confirm.

Just look at the footers. OBVIOUSLY a standup floorless woodie, probably launched too.

I heard from the dippin dots guy (here in California) that its a togo, B&M, and intamin colaborative project. And the track is going to be made out of water and acid rain painted red. And the supports are made of Swiss cheese covered in chocolate sauce (this has yet to be put on the supports).

But seriusly im thinking its a family type coaster or water ride or both, and im probably 100% wrong

^Not only that, but the rumor also included that CP was "holding" the ride for GL and KBF to install the "hyper-versions" at both parks and announcements would be made on Christmas day (instead of August). Togo is now said to be the train mfg. and that B&M will do the paint-work (minus the tracking rails of course).

I just remebered something! On a show I watched on National Geographic called Supercoasters, they talked abou how modern day LIMS can catapult tons of lbs to up to 200mph in less that 2 seconds. They used a catch car, but they catch car was the part being attracted and repelled by the lims, not the car itself. They also have a testing ground in NJ. Maybe this helped, in a way..??

Rock N Roller Coaster At WDW uses LSMs pushing a catch car to launch it's trains.

What does that have to do with the quote you put in your reply?

It looked like the person was saying LSM/LIMs pushing a catch car was a novel concept...
