gotdane Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 The post launch hill-drop-turnaround is coming along quickly and nicely! http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/webcams/webcam.cfm?chip=2
Real Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Looks like they are installing the heartline right now. I bet before the end of the week we see updates from the CP website with pictures around that roll and hill.
robbalvey Posted September 26, 2006 Author Posted September 26, 2006 NOTE: We've updated the Maverick Construction Photos Update Page on Tuesday 9/26/06: http://www.themeparkreview.com/cedarpoint2007/cedarpoint2007.htm This time thanks to our friends at www.pointpixels.com for the new pics! --Robb "Is it true that this thread is an Ebaum's eLink for the day?" Alvey
gunslinger Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Hahah, I JUST saw the Ebaum link. Prepare for bandwidth rape.
vjgx Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Awwwwww jeez... eBaums + TPR = NOT GOOD So yeah, I wonder what'll happen... probably nothing, though.
DRACHEN_FIRE_FAN-BOY Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 they didn't move anything right, b/c to me it looks like where Magnum was........
Real Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 The heartline roll is up. This could be one of the single most craziest elements Ive seen in awhile. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/latest/gallery/ http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/webcams/webcam.cfm?chip=2
DarkStitch626 Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Due to the banking after the roll which makes it a semi-roll, it looks like yet another 270 degree roll haha. Just keep rollin rollin rollin!
dandaman Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 http://www.ebaumsworld.com/ Not that you wouldn't know the link anyway, but yes, it's true. Dan "Right between 'The Epic Tale of Gwammi Mufasta' and 'Cookies Do It Too'!" Smith
CP_RULES Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I guess the brakes after the launch are to make sure you dont enter this roll going too fast, can you imagine going through that at 70 instead of 50 or 60? This thing looks CRAZY.... I cant wait!
dandaman Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I'd already said it before: The heartline would be the most insane part of the ride. It's even more so than I thought! Dan "Is this even a Casey-approved ride? " Smith
gotdane Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 The heartline looks INTENSE! Can't wait to ride it! And, according to the stats page, the ebaums link has given something like 11,000 views to this thread since last night.
vjgx Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 ^Well now at least we know that the servers can withstand it! Oh, and yeah. That heartline roll = insanity!
downunder Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 That heartline really stood out in the animation for me as well, the next generation of head choppers - head smashers, it will scary at speed. I was non plussed when I first saw 105 foot height but I am warming to this coaster big time, how many other good ones out there that are a bit over 100 foot - Nemesis, Batman inverts, Hulk and so on.
TexTitan01 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 They already got the stengel up? Sheesh this is really truckin along...They'll probably have the rest of the layout up to the station finished before my homecoming (oct. 6). That heartline looks like it will be quite forceful, I bet it will feel amazing This ride looks like it will have it all. Airtime, inversions, launches, crazy drops, and sidewinding; the people at Intamin have really put some thought into this My hats off to you, Intamin Gods!
aro26 Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 ^ yeah they are really movin along. if u look at the webcams, u can see that the lake has already been filled up and they are about to install the overbanked element!! cant wait to ride this monster, its gonna be AWESOME!!! me on the heartline roll:
Coasterlicious Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Ive never been on an intamin with inversions... I cant wait.!!!! ( wait I take that back... does wicked twister and dragster count as inversions?.. or wait.. wtf are inversions...upside down only?. or like what?..BLAH cant you tell im like the best coaster person ever... ha.
robbalvey Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 I've updated the TPR construction page with lots of new photos: http://www.themeparkreview.com/cedarpoint2007/cedarpoint2007.htm. Thanks to the guys at www.pointpixels.com for the new photos! --Robb
Reon Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Heartline...so...intense...must...speak...in...one...word....phrases But seriously, this thing is starting to look really sexy (especially that first jumbled shot) Jared"Cant wait for his 2 CP trips next year"Becker
MARK Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 The first little overbank reminds me of that funky twisty part on Storm Runner.
CP_RULES Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Theres a new construction diary entry today at the Maverick website. Sounds like trackwork is nearing completion. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/latest/diary/ EDIT with webcam pic:
ECZenith Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 The overbank and heartline rolls are sick-looking! I can't wait to see the theming start coming in after trackwork is done.
TheStig Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Does anybody besides me thing that the roll is going to snap a few necks? Colin C
