What will be your best ride ever besides rollercoasters?

Recommended Posts

My all time favorite ride i've been on is 'The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man'! (Universal Islands of Adventure)

Whats yours?

GoEoNe

Do women count as rides? ... Oh, haha, right, "theme park" rides. In that case, in terms of general experience, I'd be looking at either Star Tours at Disneyland or Wild West Falls at Warner Bros. Movie World, Australia.

A Waltzer is the next best thing to a coaster.

I would love to work on one and spin it really fast, the people would get very dizzy.

I would have lots of lights and some fog / bubble machines, a laser with mirrors everywhere for when the dask/evening arrives.

I'd have to say 'Wave Rider'

Its a speed boat that takes sharp turns and jumps wave whilst going around 170km/h!

It really is a thrill with more airtime than any coaste i have yet to ride...

here is a pic I took...

Hmmm...all dark rides (by my wide definition).

1) Huss Trioka. Relaxing, but incredibly fun. The airtime and the swinging of the cars is just great.

2) Schwarzkopf Enterprise. A totally crazy ride, when run properly. Going upside down with no restraint is an amazing feeling, and the swinging of the cars is also very fun.

3) Huss Frisbee Family/Moser Versions- When run with a good cycle, these rides are truly insane and totally fun. I really like the cycle on Revolution at SFGAm (currently down), with the "super-crazy spin cycle" towards the end of the ride- crazy. The inverted, outside facing versions are also good, because of the upside-down/airtime sensation.

4) Chance Falling Star. When run to its potential, this ride kicks some serious butt. Airtime city, the crush your neighbor. Rinse and repeat. Totally insane and totally great.

5) Other rides that I love:

- Spiderman

- Men in Black

- Spaceship Earth

- Test Track

- Mission: Space

- Dinosaur/Countdown to Extinction

- Wild Artic simulator at Sea World Orlando. One of the most advanced of its kind, and very realistic.

- ET Adventure!! One of my favorites, just for the nostalgic value. When everything is working, it is very cool. And who doesn't love creepy scientists from NASA, the ET song, and the ET ride smell?

- Dudley Do Right's Ripsaw Falls

- Splash Mountain

- Popeye's Bilge Rat Barges

- Jurassic Park River Adventure. Also one of my favorites, when everthing is working. One of my favorite attraction moments of all time. "Welcome to Jurassic Park"- Cue JP theme, open doors. Totally amazing.

Im actually really starting to like Huss Top Spins. I rode the one at SFDL last week and its program blew. I'm hoping to find somewhere with a longer and better program and I also dig Intamin 2nd Generation Drop Towers.

The one at Galaxyland is NUTS. It does a wave motion in the middle of the ride. But it is a normal topspin at the beginning and end. Anyway....

Chance Zipper. Nothing else.. just Chance. The other manufacturers Zipper's are no where near as crazy as chance's.

S&S Double Shot drop rides.

Dartron Zendar/Zero Gravity

Dartron Downdraft... Much less painful than Hurricane.

Wisdom, Gravitron.

Dark rides. Disney, Walk-Thru, Travelling, Sally, any of 'em! I always try to get my dark ride credits, sometimes losing a coaster credit in the process!

Some of my favorites so far are:

Tower of Terror (I consider it a dark ride), Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, Calico Mine Ride, Adventurer's Club, Scooby Doo's Haunted House, Haunted Shack (at our local Burn's Park Funland), etc.

I would have to say all S&S Towers, especially the Power Tower at CP. I'm not a huge fan of Intamin drop rides (at least the one at SFKK since I was stuck at the top for 15 minutes once).

I am going to Cedar Point again this July and I am excited to ride Maxair and Skyhawk!

not really a ride, more a show, but totally breathtaking and very impressive even if you like Fire (don't know how different in feeling to Backdraft in California) ... but for those who rode Spiderman ... when the flamethrower is in action .. imagine that for 10mns and hotter ... feels like 150°F sometimes on your face

it's in Spain, at Port Aventura (formerly Universal Studios park)

http://www.umwebsite.com/descargas/templodelfuego.zip

a video of the show

starts in a room with a flat dome ... where it changes from the bright sky to thundering dark sky with spirits.

then after a while, you go into the temple room ... where you will experience a furnace.

If you want to be abused during the ride, Dinosaur at DAK. I think my wife might of had a slight case of whiplash on that thing.

Hand down though the best non coaster ride is Tower of Terror at WDW. Rode it 5 times in one day, and all 5 programs were different.
