The WDW Disney College Program
ConleyKE replied to jackskellington101's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not sure of the exact date, but if you aren't completely positive of whether or not you want to do the program, I wouldn't suggest applying as soon as the applications become available! Once you complete the application and have your phone interview, you are only given about two weeks to accept or decline your offer. Since I made the mistake of applying right away in August while still being unsure about the program, I then had to make a hasty decision in September, which seemed really early considering I wasn't going to be leaving until the end of January. Just a quick warning! -

^ Thank you very much! I'm definitely leaning towards taking one of the Disney classes now. And Chatham Square does indeed look a lot nicer. Luckily I'll have my car with me, so hopefully its less convenient location won't be such an issue. -

Add me to the list for Spring 2011! I arrive January 31st and leave in mid-August, and will be doing housekeeping in the resorts! Reading through everything in this thread has been extremely helpful, but I had a few more questions for those who may have completed the program already: I will be taking one online class through my university to get internship credit, but would anyone suggest also taking one of the Disney classes too? I understand that the Disney Exploration Series courses don't earn you any credit, however I feel like they could be interesting/helpful for my career in -

Are all of the roller coasters/rides open during Halloween Haunt on Friday nights? My sister and I are thinking of going tomorrow, but we don't really care for the haunted mazes and what-not, we just want some night rides on the Beast and Diamondback. Also, what should we expect in terms of crowds? -
That's what was odd to me. Since when has a coaster car ever had four rows? Do you mean four rows of seats in each car, or four cars that make up the train? If you mean four cars, I believe that's what Intamin has used for it's mega-lites thus far. So it has been done, but I do agree that it looks strange.

Dang! Did you get a chance to try the right slide of those two white speed slides? It looks like you could get a nice pop of air on that little drop in the middle. And thanks for sharing these great photos! This looks like a neat water park. -
Most Dangerous Amusement Park Attractions

As stated before, I love that the majority of these accidents were caused by guests violating safety regulations, thus putting THEMSELVES in harms way. Yet they failed to mention several notable incidents in which there actually were mechanical/operator errors (SFKK's drop tower, Disney's monorail, and an abundance of SCAD Towers... just to name a few). -

Does anyone in the northern Ohio area know when the local schools go back into session? I'm looking to visit the park sometime this August (as early as the 13th), but I was wondering when the crowds might become lighter. Thanks! -

Excellent pictures! I'm glad that I'm not the only one that's obsessed with the Legend's first drop! It looks like you and your family had a great time. And I love the Glenn Beck shout-out! -

What could've made it worse for me is that I'm super skinny (about 125lbs and 5ft 11), so my lap bar would have to go down a lot further to securely reach my lap. And since the lap bar and shin bar are connected, this causes the shin bar to tighten even more on my already long legs. -

I completely agree with your review! The ride itself was very smooth, unique, and had great pacing... but the restraints completely ruined the experience. I rode it this past Thursday once in row 6, and also had the most uncomfortable/painful coaster experience to date. I'm 5ft 11 and my mom is only about 5ft 8, but both of our shins were continuously pressed against the foot bar. I actually had to keep my feet flexed the entire ride to alleviate the pressure. Usually I don't complain about restraints, even severe head banging or stapling, but this was actually painful. I wish I would've k
