3Mutts
Great news! I've never ridden a ARM Drop Tower so I can't wait to get down to Knoebels in May to ride this one!
CpBluestreakCp
Great addition for Knoebels. I love these ARM Drop Towers, perfect fit for this park.
CoasterLine
For comparison, how tall is the ARM tower at Waldameer? Â Waldameer says theirs is 140'. Â I love these ARM rides better than S&S. With the plate over your head blocking upward view, and no stop between upward and downward, I love it. The northern facing seats on X-Scream are awesome because of the view over Presque Isle, and how the sound of the park below completely drowns out as you travel up (mainly due to being in one of the most remote places in the park). Great choice for Knoebels!
grinch1313
I'm very excited for this. I love the ARM drop towers. They always terrify me, but are amazing fun. This is definitely a great fit for Knoebels.
Wes
Jan 8th, 2016Â Knoebels announces the long delayed Stratosfear drop tower almost ready for upcoming season, just needs "a few more months to test and rebuild".

Taylor Finn
These drop towers are the only rides on the market that legitimately scare me. I love them to death, though. I am happy with this addition as I would have been with anything Knoebel's does. I'll be there again this summer for some more bumpin', snappin', and airtime. Taeshan
Knoebels is a park i've been watching much like Dorney and not to the extent of Hershey, and i probably wont make a trip til i have more friends i can convince to go, or other friends besides my usual park friends as we are a bunch of poor college students and are already looking at either Great Adventure, or Cedar Point (which for us would end up a three day trip, two days for driving, 1 there 1 back) and im getting one of them to possibly go to a USA soccer game for my birthday. With that sad either way i will wait until they figure out Flying Turns, and im not a huge fan of drop towers so this one doesnt excite me as much. Hopefully it will not be to long until i hit up Knoebels for what i think will be my third time. Really like how they continue to "save" coasters and such. screaminkid2005
For the past two years i've been praying for this park to get a drop tower and i'm wicked excited its finally happening! Hopefully I can make my way back there this season! Â If Flying Turns opens, this will be a must hit park for me next year!

Myself
We thought we should add something for our younger riders too! Â Â A Zamperla Crazy Sub, by the looks of it. Wonder where this will go.

This man speaks the truth... you have to Experience Knoebels to understand but this park is a slice of Americana and is a great combination of old and new. Besides El Toro I would consider Phoenix the best coaster in the Northeast (I used to love Bizarro at SFNE and it's still a good ride but for some reason it's just not what it used to be) but this park isn't even about the coasters. It's about the awesome, old, unique flat rides, the common flat rides that have better programs and longer cycles than you'll find anywhere else, the old-school (award winning) dark rides, the great food, the theme park history museums and just the overall experience. Knoebels is one of a kind.
palmerleeberry
^ and I would like to second that statement. Knoebels has a few things that the other parks don't have: two train rides, two merry-go-round (not to mention a museum in one of their gift shops to houses the vintage horses), an attraction where you can steer your own motor boat, a great log flume, two "must ride or die" dark rides, Looper flat ride, and so many other rides and attractions it'll take too long to name them all. Plus, in between rides, I would like to play a few rounds of Fascination and Pokereno and win more tickets. Â Adding a drop tower without taking anything out, plus putting it in an area that could use it shall be a great boon for Knoebels. And should they ever get the "Lying Turds" ride running and open to the the public, then that will be an even bigger boon and I shall call it the "Flying Turns". Jim S.
We thought we should add something for our younger riders too! Â Â A Zamperla Crazy Sub, by the looks of it. Wonder where this will go. Â I had to look that one up -- I was assuming that it was a clone of the Rockin' Tug, which didn't make any sense (although the Rockin' Tug was down the last few times I was there.) But now I see that it looks like a smaller version of 1001 Nacht, which still doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
larrygator
But now I see that it looks like a smaller version of 1001 Nacht, which still doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Â This is a family ride for smaller kids, 1001 Nachts is not.

Knoebels is one of a kind. Â It is also one of the few American Parks that has kept it's charm and is free of government red tape. It is really amazing how it still operates the way it does (no gates or seat belts on the coasters [especially the Phoenix with its extreme airtime and buzz bars]) as it just looks like a lawyers playground. Jim S.
But now I see that it looks like a smaller version of 1001 Nacht, which still doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Â This is a family ride for smaller kids, 1001 Nachts is not. Â The Nachts hardly seems like a thrill ride (although I never rode it.) Is the difference, then, that a sufficiently small child wouldn't be properly restrained on the Nachts?
larrygator
This kiddie ride is only 15-20 feet high with a lower height requirement. Is also runs a lot slower. A small children would not be tall enough to ride 1001 Nachts and if the child wasn't scared by the height the parents would probably be scared to place their children on 1001 Nachts Edited January 9, 2013 by larrygator
DCody
Chiming in late here to say that I will NEVER get on another ARM drop tower-- which is to say that it's an awesome addition for Knoebels. XScream was the most forceful, sudden drop I have ever experienced. Granted, I am a puss who used to cry on Maliboomer, but yeah...Knoebels made the right choice. Â That little submarine looks cute too...I miss High-Speed Thrill Coaster.
cfc
That little submarine looks cute too...I miss High-Speed Thrill Coaster. Taylor Finn
I'll say it again, but these drop towers are scary. And I think Knoebels will benefit from adding a sincere thrill ride. The park lacks them, and it can only help their overall lineup. Where is this thing being placed again? I'm sorry if I skipped over it.
