Luxo Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 So sad, so sad. Another credit lost this year. I have an idea for them! Make a Wild Mouse going off the side! ---Brent 8) Or a custom Screaming Squirel, with an exciting layout. One could only hope!
DerekRx Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 I'm not sure what they'll put there in its place, but I think the only thing that could be scarier than Insanity is a Starflyer. They'd need to sell diapers in the giftshop!
coaster1 Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Bout time they put that out of it's misery ... made some funky sounds last time I was on it.
YoshiFan Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 That sucks it is being removed. I was looking forward to riding it whenever I get to Vegas (hoping within the next 5 years)
ChrisFL Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Bout time they put that out of it's misery ... made some funky sounds last time I was on it. it did the one time I got up the guts to go on it...and that was 4 years ago. I've never been so scared on a coaster...when it makes loud creaking noises on the "drop" part of it, that's not a good thing to me.
Chris Benvenuto Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 I remember back when I went this september, that wasn't this like, Not popular at all? RIP High Roller. a coaster i'm glad to see get removed. trust me, the ride sucked BALLS!
BiCoastal Kid Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 am I still the only person who wants an Intamin Drop?
coasterboy76 Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 here is a brief story, says its to make room for a more exciting ride.. http://www.thrillnetwork.com/stories_view.php/1332 M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S EVERYONE!! (that celebrates it of course)
Jew Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 "More exciting ride" will most likely end up being an understatement based on their recent history of rides... The coaster itself was lame. Loading in and sitting on an outside seat waiting to dispatch was the most intense part.
coasterboy76 Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 don't forget to add in restraints on a coaster with no loop...
scruffy Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Well it looks like I will not get to ride this summer. If I had more time I would have rode last year.
DenDen Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 TAER IT DOWN! I rode it a bazillion times, it was a HUGE disappointment the 1st time, especially since I rode the BigShot first. But anyway... If it's going to be a flat ride, it will take the space where the loading platform is. I'm sure they'll expand it outward. If it's going to be another coaster, a 4D or SLC could be constructed relatively tame, and would be much more a thrill up there.
Reon Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 ^Just keep the same track design and give it 4-D trains that flip around as the cars go over the edge^^
coastered Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 I want a POV video of the high roller. Is there anyone on this forum who already has a video from that coaster, or can shoot a video in its last week of operation.
DeliriumTrigger Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 I'd think loading a 4-d up there wouldn't exactly be easy...though I suppose they could pull it off if they really wanted to.
DerekRx Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 ^^One of those Greatest Roller Coaster Adventures in 3D movies has POV of High Roller. I can't remember which one it is though off the top of my head. Not really much to it though, basically picture a triple helix with a curving tire lift. Robb may have gotten video of it on our trip there in November, but I can't be sure of that either. If he did, I'm sure he'll include it in next years batch of POVs in the DVD.
sfmmFREAK Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 the excess metal will be melted into a 50' statue im my honor.
TheStig Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 ^Then melted down to make robots, which will then be melted down to make oil cans, which will then be melted down to build more robots. Colin"if anyone can tell me whats that's from Ill give you a cookie"C
chaos Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Does anyone even have the vaguest idea as to what the new attraction(s) are/is going to be? I don' know whether to be happy or mad yet. -Luke
Mr Stratosphere Posted December 26, 2005 Author Posted December 26, 2005 As of now we do not know what will take its place! But it should be more exciting, there may be a couple of things on the drawing board. John Why stop at the edge... When you can go over!?
ebl Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Got my credit on it in August 2004. It will not be missed because there's nothing to miss, in my opinion. To me, it just wasn't much fun, even though the view was great from up there. But there's still a great view even without the coaster. Eric
socalMAN123 Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Another missed credit. Joy. ---Brent 8)
rollermonkey Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 ^Then melted down to make robots, which will then be melted down to make oil cans, which will then be melted down to build more robots.
