Depends on the unit itself. Of everyone I know personally with a 360 (myself and 3 others), every one of us have been hit with the RRoD. Myself twice, another person twice, one person once, and one person 4 times (!) before he finally sold his and bought a PS3. And we all had various units throughout this (All were purchased fairly far apart from each other, and 2 units were shipped to/from microsoft for refurb, 2 were taken in via Best Buy's extended warranty which yielded a newer units) I've never had a problem with my PS3. Never had a game fail on me, nor bluray movies. It's (surprisingly) a damn good machine. There are parts that make me say its leaps and bounds above the 360 (user-replaceable hard drive that doesn't cost an arm and a leg more than it should, any bluetooth headset being accepted, any keyboard usable, any webcam usable, HDMI from day 1, better support for switching audio between HDMI and optical (I have both, optical for stereo, hdmi for tv when others are sleeping), etc). The one (very major) thing the PS3 lacks is exclusive titles. There are very few games with multiplayer I've been willing to buy on PS3 simply because everyone else I know with the game will have it on 360. So take a look at the titles xbox has, vs the titles that are cross platform, and which console friends have. (I'll also say on the subject of multiplayer - yes, you have to pay yearly to use xbox live. But it's worth it. The online service on Wii and PS3 don't hold a candle to that of XBL.)

Guitar Hero World tour Vs. Rock Band 2
DeliriumTrigger replied to kalvin's topic in Random, Random, Random
Add me to the RB/RB2 supporters. I've just had a better experience with the RB series, both with playability (even with RB1s issues) and DLC. There are a couple artists in GH:WT that really make me want to buy the disc (Paul McCartney & Wings, Eagles)...but then I remind myself how bad the charts were in GH3. I may pick it up eventually when I can get it at a discount, but I have no intention of paying $60 for it. -
Yet another one for the Darwin awards
DeliriumTrigger replied to buttonman700's topic in Random, Random, Random
Funny, yes, but not exactly a candidate for the Darwin Awards. One has to die for that achievement. -
When it comes to GPS, what I'd like to see are applications for GPS-enabled phones. Something you'd already be carrying, and those without GPS phones can still rent the individual units. A similar (albeit much more simplified) idea was created as a web-application for the iPhone with Disney's parks by a third party. I doubt we'll see that happen as it would cut into the money flow from rentals, though they could theoretically charge for the application. Perhaps a time-limited one-time charge for those visiting, and a higher "unlimited" use charge for passholders. Regardless, I love seeing the progression of technology making its way into theme parks in general. It'll certainly be interesting to see what people make with the iPhone SDK in regards to theme parks & GPS.

Two Part Question: Sea World And Cinema
DeliriumTrigger replied to Bolliger&Mabillard's topic in Ask Alvey
^^Height limits are a bit harder to get around with B&M when they're stuck inside 30 feet, I would think. ^Ah, sorry. She fought the development of JTA tooth-and-nail, thought it would be too noisy/too ugly for people in her district across the bay. While I can't find any good articles off-hand about her involvement, I did find one that mentions the height limit. -

To answer the second...it's due to a height limit and people like Donna Frye. -

CARS! The Car Super Thread

LT. I can barely afford the insurance on that, I can't imagine how bad it'd be with the SS. As for engine problems...we've had Chevy all my life, never had any problems too big that I can recall. -

EXTREME CHESS!
DeliriumTrigger replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, somebody actually did this? I've always wanted to since I saw the comic a few years ago...Didn't think it'd be very easy/possible to get the prop on the ride though. -

With any luck I'll be the owner of one of these as well in the near future. Just gotta secure a loan (and of course take her for a test drive). Found one for sale only 5 miles away from me with 23,000 miles. -

^10 feet isn't too far...I'm at least 10 feet away nearly every time I play with no problems. -
Interesting. I'd say defrag like Wes suggested as a start...Everything else looks fine, to me anyway. Hopefully someone else will see whatever I'm not seeing. Just doesn't make sense to me that one or all of those three apps would change it this much. Especially since nothing is running out of the ordinary in the background.
-
Very odd...those three programs shouldn't be interfering at all, unless they installed some background apps along the way (and the only one that sounds like it may have done that is Office, although I can't think of any that would have put in. Ok...seems like another screenshot will be helpful. Press CTRL+shift+escape Click the "Processes" tab Expand it until you can see all the processes (Or take two screenshots if you have to scroll/can't fit it) Click "Mem Usage" until the number underneath it is the biggest one you have listed. Take the screenshot(s) It should look like the attached screenshot.

Ok, that explains where your 100gigs went. Basically, a 100 gig hard drive doesn't actually equal 100 gigs. It's usually a little less, due to the file system and other things that you never see or think about. Generally, that size gets larger based on how big the hard drive is. For example, I have a 500 gig hard drive, but after formatting it (so data can be written and read), there's only 487 free. But that's not the reason you're only seeing 44.9 gigs. The reason for that is...basically, the computer has that drive split up into what's called two "logical" drives, which means it makes the computer think one drive is actually two. That's why in that image (and presumably in My Computer), you'll see a "C:" drive, and a "D:" drive. Your big hard drive is split down the middle into two (imaginary) smaller ones. Based on your screenshot, I'm going to go ahead and say the hard drive space is not causing your problems - the C drive is still 68% free. Your system specs look good. I don't know what your graphics card is capable of, so I can't really say how the games should be performing, but you shouldn't be having any issues whatsoever with browsing the internet. These problems only started showing up after installing those three programs, yes? Nothing else changed, and it was working fine and fast before?
-
^Windows doesn't take that much space. Certainly not XP...(Nor vista, though it does take more). Even if it did, it would show up as used space...it wouldn't just disappear. Now my question is what your partition setup looks like...Do you know how to take screenshots? If so... right click "My Computer" Click "Manage" Click Disk Management. (It's under the "Storage" header, if you don't see it. Just click the + next to storage.) Take a screenshot of that window, it should look like the one I've attached. If you don't know how to take a screenshot...go through the steps to open that management window, then do this: Press the print screen button. open MS Paint. (Start >> all programs >> accessories) Hold down ctrl and press V Save the file Post it here

16gb iPhone. Had to replace my Samsung U-740. The Samsung was a great phone overall, but the iPhone is just better. Especially once jailbroken. [/statingtheobvious]. - $500+tax/contract Oh, and the Pirates 3 soundtrack, via said iPhone - to try out the mobile iTunes store and because I lost my downloaded copy - $9.99

Also, since you likely don't have aperture control, you'll have to remember it won't work at all times of the day. Try it midday on a sunny day and it'll probably come out overexposed.
