teacherkim Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 A little ride ops birdie returned from training a few hours ago and told me that Excalibur has been testing. I could never in a million years ride that particular barf machine without disastrous results for those below me but know some of you will be very excited

Definitely can't marathon it though.
tanthonyam Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Great news! Actually I was afraid it might make me sick but I didnt get any nausea from it, just some dizziness for a few minutes after.
Danrarbc Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Great news! Actually I was afraid it might make me sick but I didnt get any nausea from it, just some dizziness for a few minutes after. A Rotor gets me way worse than Xcalibur. The Endeavor gets me less dizzy than Enterprises do and I'm not sure why.
SixFlagsAstroworld Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Exciting to hear Xcalibur will be up and running again! Anything noteworthy about Catwoman’s Whip happen yet?
prozach626 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 The Endeavor gets me less dizzy than Enterprises do and I'm not sure why. I think that's the general consensus.
SixFlagsAstroworld Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 I actually really like this tagline the park made. What do you guys think of it?
ytterbiumanalyst Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 630 foot coaster confirmed!!! But seriously, it looks great. Really sells the place.
Danrarbc Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 It's great to see some localized advertising since usually you just see the cookie cutter national format stuff.
JG-77 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Agreed, hope more SF parks start taking approaches like this
Danrarbc Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Agreed, hope more SF parks start taking approaches like this I wonder if this is something the new CEO is pushing or open to or if this something that was already in motion. Also I wonder what you'd call a 600ft+ coaster? I'm not even sure 500+ is defined yet.
Danrarbc Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 500 feet is a polar coaster? I thought that was specifically that model of coaster that warps around a large tower. Even short ones are still called polar coasters.
Eyebrows Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 I’ve seen 500+ footers referred to as ‘teracoasters’ online. Maybe that’ll catch on?
ytterbiumanalyst Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Isn't Maverick a terracoaster? I like the term "giggitycoaster"
grsupercity Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Isn't Maverick a terracoaster? I like the term "giggitycoaster" Maverick is a blitz coaster that uses the Terrain. But honestly these parks make crap up so who knows
tinaalsgirl Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 It'd be kinda cool if someday in the far future (because I know it ain't likely in the near future), we got a strata coaster themed to the Arch. Someday... *sighs wistfully*

Woodie Warrior Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 Per the park's Facebook page- SFSTL will not open until April at the earliest.
Sfsl1259 Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 Opening day has been rescheduled to April 4th, 2020. That's the date the park is shooting for at this time. Park employee training has been postponed as well.
Danrarbc Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Indeed. April 4th is the new opening day. All Six Flags parks have been closed until April.
prozach626 Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 The logo with the arch looks great. Six Flags stock has tanked. I'm pretty sure I'm going to call my investor on Monday and see if he thinks it's OK to split some money between CF and SF.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to call my investor on Monday and see if he thinks it's OK to split some money between CF and SF. To be fair, CF and SEAS stocks have plummeted in the past few weeks as well....CF seeing a sharper decline that SF did. Glad to see you post, hoping COVID-19 isn't wrecking your operations like it is mine.
Sfsl1259 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Sources say that the park is not likely to open on the new date of April 4th. The park is now shooting for late April. This week, minimal amounts of employees are preparing to completly shut down the park and get it to a state where it can sit completly empty for a couple weeks. After this week the park will be completely shutdown. No one will be allowed in or out except for essential personal, such as security. St.Louis County has also banned gatherings of 50 people or more until further notice. Effectively closing the park until that ban is lifted. Truly sad times.
