bbmchl Posted Sunday at 04:33 PM Posted Sunday at 04:33 PM Lance is reporting on it over on Screamscape. Mike
SoCalJasonland Posted Sunday at 04:55 PM Posted Sunday at 04:55 PM I saw this on another site but I still wonder if they need to trademark the names before searching for funding. I don't see how a company this size could buy everything without help. I also don't see a registered trademark for a Worlds of Fun dry park, and just Oceans of Fun, so would the dry park close? Quoted from: "WorldlinessThat2984 •22h ago I think I found the smoking gun... www.enchantedparks.com (currently) redirects to https://www.i-amllc.com/ (Innovative Attractions Management). IAM recently bought "Water Safari" (https://www.watersafari.com/) in Old Forge NY. One of the trademarks is for "Enchanted Parks Water Safari". On the IAM website, they say they are "actively seeking to acquire high-performing water and amusement parks to expand its portfolio and enhance its market presence." IAM also has a "407" area code listed for their phone number (Orlando, FL) and the new Enchanted Parks LLC has a listed address in Orlando Florida. Following all the breadcrumbs, it seems more likely than not that Six Flags sold these properties (or is in the process of selling these properties) to IAM who will rebrand as "Enchanted Parks" when everything is finalized."

JJLehto Posted Sunday at 08:49 PM Posted Sunday at 08:49 PM Oh. Well then. Ya know some time ago I did scroll by some video "Six Flags to maybe SELL 5 of its parks!?" with some thumbnail, ofc didn't even bother (nor do I care much for speculation anyway) but maybe there was something to that? This one, St Louis, seems like its legit, and I am now seeing the rumor SF may be looking to sell a few of its parks. Which just rumor but does hold some water now. Well damn, never been to St Louis wonder if I should get here just for the sake of it while I can! EDIT: Ah just saw the above post, yeah seems a few properties are in question. Oceans of fun (but not Worlds of Fun?) and Great Escape Lodge but not the park? Guess well see!
Rollercoastin Posted Sunday at 09:28 PM Posted Sunday at 09:28 PM If this truly is the case, which there’s really no reason to disbelieve at this point, one can only hope it’s for the better. There is no disagreeing that SFSTL has been at the bottom of the totem pole for 15~ years or so. As long as we don’t receive the same fate as SFA, how much worse can it get? (Pleas don’t actually answer this). Given the last decade plus, I’ll reluctantly take being the premier park of a new chain, vs being one of the last to receive any new (or most likely used) attractions
JimH2K Posted Sunday at 09:54 PM Posted Sunday at 09:54 PM So you are telling me there is a chance that the Enchanted pet-a-pet, and the mule-go-round reverse blast with Titan track could happen!?!? Bring on the new magical overlords for 2027! 1
teacherkim Posted yesterday at 01:44 AM Posted yesterday at 01:44 AM Meanwhile, the park's FB page just posted info about entertainment auditions 2 days ago so they are either planning on going on somewhat like normal, the social media staff has no idea or it doesn't mean what it appears to mean........................big question about passes. We have the old DE VIP memberships so that may not transfer to another park. Not sure what to think at this point. Sigh.

If Six Flags St Louis is your home park and you have passes/memberships you should be very concerned. On the SFSTL Fb page? I just looked and didn't see anything but a few winter updates, a reference to the bumper sticker spotted on Stranger Things, and the info about March entertainment auditions 1

Only the fan ones. Six Flags stated to media in Chicago that they do not comment on rumors. It is weird there really hasn’t been much on Facebook regarding park updates like last year when they posted something every Friday.

There have been zero post about improvement this year. This year they have posted about 3 pictures of snow well after it snowed and a few train rehabs. There has not been one post about improvements this year like they did last year.
thisdougsforu Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I would guess this week we are going to find out a significant amount more as now the media is getting behind the story. It definitely appears to be true. Even Six Flags official statement on the matter wasn't even a denial. They said they didn't comment on rumors but then said "we have been actively reviewing our park portfolio and are committed to making decisions that strengthen the company and position us for profitable growth". Yeah. This park is being sold, barring something with the deal falling through. At this point, with the dumpster fire that is the combined Six Flags/Cedar Fair group, I'm going to view it as a positive. It's better than being closed down and sold to some real estate developer! Once more info comes out, i'll be interesting to see who is actually behind this new company.

But yeah, the various independent sites are picking up on this. Other outlets are running with the story as well. Amusement Source, Theme Park Insider and Coasterbuzz all seem to be taking it seriously.
SoCalJasonland Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I guess the positive thing is that these are parks that someone wants to run as amusement or waterparks so they will hopefully not get a SFNO, SFA, or SF Astroworld type ending soon. It is not like the new Six Flags / CF was going to buy these parks new attractions every year or make them top tier parks with Six Flags' budget or priorities so hopefully locals can still get out an support them if they change owners. 1
AmyUD06 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Seriously, I do not see anything changing for the worse at any of these parks if they are sold to another operator. Status quo? Maybe. But they will certainly not get less investment than SFEC was going to put in to them. Also, seriously, the first time SFStL has real news in how long, and we've got nothing from @prozach626 ? I'm disappointed haha.
