  1. Just an FYI from an email from SF about the legacy memberships if you still have one... Our membership goes up a buck per membership a month. Still totally worth it for the parking, admission, and meal plan that we get. Also says Joker CoC (hehe) will open this summer. (probably not gonna happen on time)
  2. If anyone had the training running before the end of 2024 or before the carousel is done... You win the pool! Train was back up and working this weekend. Was running for the freaks unleashed show, and was doing a round trip ride, as the north station is being used for a boo fest black light walkthrough.
  3. From the Six Flags STL Facebook page... The Freaks phoned...they will be arriving early this year. That's right, Fright Fest and Boo Fest will start Saturday, September 16! Mark your calendars...change your plans...be here. #sixflagsstlouis #frightfest #boofest Looks like the part is going to try and maximize the money by starting earlier this year.
  4. Figured I would share the member update email from Selim... Dear Valued Diamond Elite VIP Members, I hope this message finds you as happy and excited as I am to welcome the upcoming summer season at Six Flags. More of our parks are about to open and welcome guests from all over for some serious fun and family time. I've been strolling through some of our parks lately, and let me tell you, the renewed smiles and laughter from our guests are simply infectious! This year’s Spring Break introduced Scream Break, a brand-new event to several parks. And the best part? Our Pass Holders and Members got to enjoy it for free. We value your loyalty and will continue to show our appreciation with perks like this, so keep an eye out. Our lineup of events this season has something for everyone, from returning favorites like Viva La Fiesta and Pride Celebration to new festivals making their delicious debut. You do not want to miss out on the unique dining experience of Flavors of the World. With seven countries to explore in just one day, your palate is in for a treat. We're also spicing up your summer nights with a bang, quite literally! Join us on select Fridays and Saturdays, July through August for an amazing firework show that'll light up the sky and your family's faces. It's the perfect way to cap off a day of thrills and laughter, so bring your loved ones along for an experience they won't forget. Find participating parks and dates for all these amazing events on our website. We're not only adding new events to our calendar, but new rides and attractions to several of our parks. From the KID FLASH Cosmic Coaster to the Dino Off Road Adventure, we've got thrills and spills for all ages. We recently unveiled AQUAMAN™: Power Wave, the first-of-its-kind water coaster in North America at Six Flags Over Texas, and our Pass Holders were lucky enough to enjoy exclusive ride times. Come on over and ride the wave of excitement with us! Whether you visit for exclusive ride times or a new event, you can enter the park as a VIP. Our newly implemented Diamond VIP entrances let you access the park away from the crowds with a dedicated entrance, now at all parks. As a token of our appreciation, I'll be sending surprise gifts to randomly selected Pass Holders throughout the 2023 season. Please make sure you're registered and your info is up to date at sixflags.com/pass. To all our amazing pass holders, thank you for being part of the Six Flags family. Let's create some unforgettable memories together! Cheers, Selim Bassoul Chief Executive Officer
  5. My wife and I were there on that miserable Sunday (weather wise). Footing work for the new coaster really has not started. They did have a bulldozer parked on the old go-kart track, so it very well could be getting close to grading, and getting all the markers set for construction. It will be interesting to see what they do with the old go-kart track and dragon swing, and to see if any beautification will happen for the queue, or a reroute of some of the boss walk of shame. Lots of tree limbs down throughout the park. One heck of a storm system came through Saturday evening, and it showed. Park employees were doing a decent job trying to get things back to somewhat normalcy. Front of the park restrooms are still under construction. The area near thunder river entrance and the old Excalibur entrance which used to have some kids/basketball games... now has some electronic claw machines. Primos was open again, and it has a much bigger, enclosed dining area. Another place to get out of the weather when needed. It was a low-sensory Sunday at the park. Its very odd to walk through, and not hear any background music.
  6. Looks like it is a family coaster called rookie racer. "Get ready to start your engines! A new family coaster, Rookie Racer, is headed to Six Flags St. Louis this summer!" https://www.sixflags.com/stlouis/attractions/rookie-racer?fbclid=IwAR2bu--9GeYc25VI4Z5UblwDni5LgIO_ErB5x4v9kKBNnvUA6883ylakm5o
  7. I would guess it is probably just a site error. I used my pass at another park earlier this year, and all of the benefits I had last year were still available this year.
  8. Here is a copy of an email that I got as a DE-VIP member... Dear Valued Diamond Elite VIP Members, I hope this letter finds you well. At Six Flags, we are grateful for your continued support and loyalty as our valued Diamond Elite VIP Members. Your trust in us as your go-to destination for thrills and family fun means the world and we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those choosing us year after year and to those who recently joined. Your presence has helped to create unforgettable memories for our guests, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Whether you’re riding the newest coaster, enjoying a show, or simply spending time with your loved ones, we are honored to be a part of your life’s special moments. Get ready to be amazed and entertained with the addition of new shows. From magical stunts to enchanting musical performances, our talented performers will leave you on the edge of your seat. With the launch of paid premium lounges this summer in all of our theme parks, you have the opportunity to enjoy unparalleled comfort and relaxation while still being close to the action. We are thrilled to report that our guest satisfaction scores have been steadily increasing and our online community and fan base continues to grow. We are constantly working to improve and evolve. In that spirit, we are proud to share with you the introduction of state-of-the-art gaming and e-sports arenas and lounges at select parks later this year. In addition to these exciting new updates, we are also working to make your experience at Six Flags even easier and more convenient. That's why we're introducing Apple Pay and Google Pay across our parks this spring. This new feature will make it easier for you, your families, and teenagers to purchase food, drinks, and souvenirs without having to worry about carrying cash or credit cards. To show my appreciation for your continued support, I will be sending a surprise gift to randomly selected Diamond Elite VIP Members on a monthly basis throughout the 2023 season. So please make sure you are registered at sixflags.com/pass and your information is up to date. This is just a small token of our gratitude for your continued support and loyalty. Your Diamond Elite VIP Membership also gains you access to Scream Break presale tickets! Scream Break is a limited-time event with special park hours and a limited number of tickets. Stay late during Spring Break when you add this exclusive after-hours nighttime event to your visit. Take advantage of your status and pre-buy your tickets at this link now, before anyone else. As my first surprise “thank you” gift, you’ll also get $5 off each pre-sale Scream Break ticket! To each and every one of our dedicated Members, thank you again for continuing to be part of our Six Flags family. Let’s create fun memories together, Selim Bassoul Chief Executive Officer
  9. Wait... you met him in a queue for a ride that has been closed for over a month now? If that's the case, I think all of the SF parks are in deep trouble with that guy. No way I am waiting in line for a closed ride!
  10. My wife and I made our first trip of the year on Sunday, and it was a pretty good day overall! Park was not very crowded at all, which made for easy waits on almost all the rides! The only wait was for the Screamin' Eagle, and that looked to be about 30 minutes. The new area and signage around Eagle looks beautiful, but you can not access it from Boomerang. You have to go the back way to get to it. (Giggity) My wife and I are "legacy members" (what the old memberships are now called), but our perks are the same this year, as they have been in the past. We were told that this is the final year of all memberships and dining plans, and beginning next year, you either had to cancel your membership, or move to one of the passes. That was a bummer, as my wife and I liked our membership, and used it at different park all over the country. Flash passes, and skip the line perks can be used from the app this year, and we found them to work quite well. We really didn't have to use any, but we tested them to see how it works. You can also pay a price, and just purchase one skip the line pass through the app. I have a feeling price and availability will depend on how busy the park was. Food wise, we ate at JB's. There is no "upcharge" for the meals on the dining plan, but by default now, the meals come with a bag of chips as a side. I believe fries, mac and cheese, or a salad could be subbed for $2. I chose to do the upgrade to fries with my wings, but they did not charge me for it. Probably an opening day system glitch. I also did see that turkey legs are considered a meal now, with no upcharge. We rode what we wanted to, but we did get stuck on the mine train, and had to get let off at the station before we left. No biggie, as it looked like a safety sensor needed to be reset. We left and went to skyscreamer... What do you know, we sit down, and had to get right back up! A ride opp found some foreign object debris on the ground, and wanted to make sure it was just trash, and not a piece of the ride that had come off. While waiting for the OK from maintenance, we had a chat with a very nice guy. We talked about the boss, and how they finally got parts in last week to do repairs, and they were testing and training for next weekend to be open. We also talked about Mr. Freeze, and it actually broke down during fright fest last year. The parts were ordered, but delayed due to supply chain issues for 6 months! They finally got the parts in last Friday, and were hoping to be able to get to work this week on getting her fixed, weather permitting. Cat Woman's Whip still has quite a bit to go. The loading docks for the ride are sitting next to skystreamer, and they still have quite a bit of concrete, que line, and lanndscaping to do. Once it is done, the guy said it should look really good, but in typical six flags fashion... it will probably not open late spring. Other than that, the park did get some sprucing up over the winter. There is a new pavilion style building near Eagles entrance that looks very nice, and there are some new shade structures built around the palace porch area. They did take down the roof over the palace porch stage, so not sure if it is being removed, or perhaps repaired. At the entrance to the park... Pretty close to the same as always, except the exit is now on the side closest to the restrooms. Guest services looked to have its own dedicated line for entering the park. Not sure why, but thats what it is. Overall, we had a good day, nice people, beautiful weather... and just what we expected as a Sunday at our old park!
  11. This was posted on the SFSTL facebook page a couple days ago. This at least shows what the queue could potentially look like.
  12. When I was at the park on Sunday, I did see that there was a small food stand set up near the palace theater, on the side where you can enter DC comics plaza. The tent they had set up was doing a 6 inch Subway sandwich, a bag of chips, and a drink. You were able to use the dining pass here, as well as get drink refills. You got the option of a turkey or ham sub, assorted chips, and the usual fountain drink options. They included mustard and mayo packet with the bag with the sub in it. It was nice in 2 ways... 1) Was an easy place to get member cup refilled with a drink, and not have to wait a long amount of time. 2) No line at all in the afternoon, so was easy to get something to eat very quickly. I guess this is about as close to the "go fresh" cafe we can have now... Also, got to see the maintenance staff fire up the pumps on Thunder River... Something I had always wanted to see being done, and had an excellent vantage point from Colossus. Very cool to see the wall of water come down the hill after starting the journey at the top loading area!
  13. I did see that there is now a completed refurbished carousel horse in the new building next to the carousel. I will say that the horse looks awesome! I wonder how long it takes to refurbish each one? They have the new horse enclosed in glass, on a spinning pedestal near the entrance to the carousel/Super Girl. Once all are completed... That carousel will look amazing! Hopefully people will treat these well, and they can stay looking sharp for years to come!
  14. The flash pass kiosk at the front of the park was open, and some people were buying. I can see it saving time in line on coasters, but everything else is pretty much a small wait of a couple turns with the capacity limits of the park. Perhaps some people used some of the "rewards points" to get a flash pass for the day? I dunno... We ended up giving a couple our paper skip passes for the flume as we were leaving. We usually try to pay it forward to someone if we don't use them.
  15. So how did the electronic queueing work out? How long did it take to get the notification to head to the queue when you reserved a spot? Once you were in the queue, how long did it take to board? If we end up getting desperate enough to go, I'd like to get a few rides on Screamin' Eagle, maybe a ride on the Boss and/or Batman, and a trip down the flume. But, we don't want to spend the whole time standing in a queue. That's why I'm curious about the reservation system. I can't remember if they let you take your beer in the queues. At CF parks they do not. There was no electronic queueing for rides on my end. We used our 3 "skip the lines" passes (paper), and that worked the same as other years. We just went to the flash pass entrance at the rides, gave our paper passes to the ride op, and got on the next available ride. Only thing that would have been like an electronic queue would be ordering food and drink from the app. Some people actually did have a flash pass for things, and they got on like normal. From everything I see, there is no system to be put in an electronic ride queue like some other bigger parks offer... Unless you count flash pass, which I ain't buying!
