Alton Towers were doing really well with cool words like Nemesis and Oblivion. They let themselves down big time with Air and Rita's namings.

The best coaster name goes to Michigan's Adventure with shivering timbers. The worst coaster name goes to any ride named corkscrew after the first knotts version, and also Batman the ride.

If someone would name a coaster "Hawk Force," that would be the ultimate.

I don't care for Cedar Fair and their lack of naming rides, like Xcelerator. Naming an "Accelerator" coaster Xcelerator, it just lacks creativity.

 

One thing I think is cool is when rides have subnames, such as:

 

X-No Limits

X-Xperience The Xtreme

Scream! Ride Out Loud

Goliath-The Giant Among Coasters, etc.

I just re-read this entire topic and was surprised that no one said "Montezooma's Revenge." That was always a classic to me.

 

And even though the ride itself sucked, "Psyclone" was a cool name---a nice play on words, actually.

Probably Top Gun, I don't know why it just sounds cool, or BORG Assimilator. That is an awesome name too. I'm also liking Goliath at SFoG
