A naked day wouldn't surprise me with Alton, they have had gay days

Please don't let this be as offensive as it sounds. Don't compare naked with gay. Not fair. Why does it always come back to gay people?

Yesterday, my parents were talking about a Disney's America in Pennsylvania and they also asked me if I knew that SF went bankrupt.

... and yes I did know that SF went bankrupt.

I visited Disneyland with my high school jazz band in April.

When we were waiting on a train for Big Thunder Mountain, one pulled up and unloaded. After they unloaded, a Disney castmember (He was wearing a V.I.P. tour uniform, I think) led a girl in a black hoodie, another girl, and a buff guy in a blue shirt up to the unload area.

The group wouldn't look towards the people waiting in line.

My friend, being random as always, tried to get their attention.

He shouted "Hey honey!!!" and the girl in the black hoodie turned around and smiled waved at him. He waved back and didn't think anything of it...until a bunch of random people in line started shouting:

"Oh my Gods!!!!!! It's Paris freaking Hilton!!!!! Let's get a picture of her!!!!"

and

"Oh my God!!! Paris!!!! We love you!!!!"

Does that count as a stupid statement the GP have made?

She turned her back and the Disney tour guide stepped in front of her and calmly told us not to take pictures.

If I were going to take candid pictures of a celebrity, I would do it calmly and not announce it to everybody else.

Never go full paparazzi.

Me and my friends boarded the next train and carried on with our normal lives without freaking out about it until after we got off.

Paris Hilton was the only "celebrity" while we were staying in LA.

What a disappointment!!!

^DISAPPOINTMENT?!?! To each his own, I guess...lol

Learning that Paris Hilton is into coasters just brightened my week ten-fold.

Disney America was planned in Virginia as well (which is where I live). There was a big debate about it and people made a fuss .. so the park was never built. It would have been interesting if that had actually made it. Disney has seemed to want to get into Virginia for a while now, I'm surprised they haven't made a bid on Busch Gardens.

Learning Paris Hilton is into rollercoasters makes me embarrassed and ashamed.

What about the picture of Paris on Tatsu for Tatsu's Media Day. lol I personally would love to see her ride a coaster. She would say the most .... interesting things.

^^Wonderful picture.

Apparently she likes coasters...and Disneyland.

It didn't really surprise me that we saw her because I had been reading online for years that she goes to Disneyland (One story involved her wearing a prosthetic nose?).

I've never really cared about Paris Hilton until I saw her there.

It made me think of her as a normal person...on a Disneyland VIP tour...with front of the line access....

Anyway, it made me realize how much celebrities must really hate it to have cameras in their faces all the time. They deserve the right to be able to have fun at a theme park, just like all of us uninteresting normal folk.

I have been told over the years that back in the 70's Disney was actually looking at Charles Town, West Virginia at one point. At the time ( 1978 ) what is now Charles Town Races & Slots, had bought out Shenandoah Downs ( a large horse racing track across the street ) only to close down the large complex. As big as Shenandoah Downs was ( the place could seat 45,000 people ) and the fact that the complex was close to both DC, Northern Virginia and Baltimore, Disney wanted the land to do their thing and Charles Town Races & Slots was willing to let them have it too. Zoning wouldn't have been an issue since the town at the time..well they didn't have any.

However at the time West Virginia had some strange law on their books where whoever wanted to buy Shenandoah Downs or any other track in the state...well it had to stay that way meaning more horse racing and since Disney didn't want to get into the horse racing business they passed.

Now Disney's America..when the idea to build a park in Virginia fell through ( there is actually debate as to why that exist to this day ), Shenandoah Downs was still standing ( the place would finally get torn down in 2003 ) and Charles Town Races & Slots went back to Disney and told them they now can take the complex and do what they want since the rules had since changed in West Virginia.

Disney again...took a pass.

Chances are that she would probably say 3/4ths of all the GP comments in this thread! lol

I am probably going to hear a ton of GP comments next week...

That was actually real. There were plans for a park in Pennsylvania.

Disney's America was supposed to be built around Northern Virginia close to DC, but the residents complained that it would make too much noise not to mention it was close to a number of Civil War battlefields, so Disney backed out.

Some cool info with some sweet concept art...

Hahaha I just saw this posted on Bungie's (The company that makes the Halo games) forums:

Son of Beast was closed Saturday, So I asked an employee why is it closed. The employee responded "It's shut down for the year." I was all like WHAT? He said that all the employees on Friday night after the park had closed had a meeting. The manager said that they will be shutting down the ride for they year. It's closed due to a HUGE[ design flaw. And they said for everyone that's ever rode that ride, you had a pretty good chance of the ride crashing and completely fall apart and you die. They said they plan to completly re-design the ride. AS of this time, I don't have any links but will update this thread if there are any. But it's sad that a ride that unstable was running for 9 years.

It seemed like a normal report until the last few sentences lol And he keeps insisting throughout the thread that it was going to collapse any second and that everyone who rides it has like a 90% chance of dying.

At SFoG I heard about 3 people say that they took Deja Vu down because someone got their legs chopped off. I heard the exact same thing from one person at SFGAm this year about Deja Vu. It's annoying

I went to SFMM yesterday and as my dad and I were passing by Riddler's, a girl in front of me pointed at Riddler's and told her friend, "Hey! there's Goliath!"

About Great Bear-

"Oh well this does a TON of loops, then about 50 corkscrews"

"It's brand new, it just opened a few years ago!"

C'mon. 1 corkscrew. I can see how a Zero-G roll is confused for a Corkscrew... but really? 50?

Storm Runner-

"Isn't this the one that goes like 50 mph in 10 seconds?"

That's insanely slow. Way off.

"There's one called Top Thrill Dragster in Kings Island that's 4 times the height of this!"

Guys, I think this thread is intended to display 'weird' things the GP says. Not just common factual problems. It has once again turned into one of those 'WOW this GP person was off like 8 miles an hour, what an idiot' threads. 'It's a heartline spin, not a corkscrew you idiot!' Come on, these aren't weird comments. Let's try to get this back to it's original intentions and not some 'I'm a coaster dork and you are stupid' thread.

Just my thoughts.

Some guy in line for Kingda Ka

Father "Does it go fast?"

Son "No, it only does like 50"

Father "Oh, that's not bad"

Am I the only one that is able to clearly see and hear people launching from the queue at all times?

People always lie to try to get other members of their party to ride that are afraid. I've heard every one in the book. "It only goes... (half coaster's actual speed)" is fairly common.

I head a strange one today...

Before getting on Nitro an eleven year old white kid come up to the entrance and shouts:

“ NO LINE!!!! OOOOHHH YEAH!!!!! ALL THE LADIES LIKE ME!!! ALL THE LADIES LIKE ME!!!”

At Knott's yesterday, getting off of Montezooma's Revenge" That was so much better than Boomerang, it goes 150MPH! That stinks for all the party poopers they didn't get to feel the burst!" It was pretty funny.

Not really funny but just ignorant; Guy telling the group he was with in line for Diamondback that it's taller than Millennium Force and that the tallest coaster was "Eh somewhere in Japan"
