Your 5 year plan and predictions for any park

Recommended Posts

I'm going to do a little oddball park here because my expectations are a little more realistic than some of the larger parks listed.

Martin's Fantasy Island:

2016: Family-Thrill flat to replace the Ferris Wheel, which is up for sale. Possibly return of the Scrambler or Pirate Ship, or a new drop tower for adults.

2017: A new coaster in the recently cleared area where the log flume was. Something like Switchback at ZDT's would work great there.

2018: Something small like a waterpark addition. Possible replacement of Raging Rapids, which is getting very old for a slide complex.

2019: Off year, maybe a kiddie ride or a new show.

2020: Large scale family ride in place of mini golf. Maybe a dark ride or something similar to Moose on the Loose at Darien Lake.

2021: I know this is the 6th year I listed, but it is the 60th anniversary of the park. Possible return of older attractions like the Mystery Mine (crooked house).

I like your list, but RMC Wildcat will not happen. Relocating Sidewinder also sounds like a bit of a stretch.

My list:

I'm bad at this stuff so not making one.

Universal Studios Hollywood

2016- WWOHP (because duh ); construction starts for new dark ride

2017- Off year/minor improvements throughout park ("plussing" or repairing things that need to be refreshed); construction starts for Diagon Alley

2018- New family dark ride located in former Stage 28 location; construction starts for Nintendo themed land

2019- Diagon Alley/Escape From Gringotts (expansion for Lower Lot where current soundstages are located or as possible replacement for WaterWorld)

2020- Nintendo themed land (expansion for Lower Lot where some of the Front Lot soundstages are currently located); construction starts for new project (yet another WWOHP expansion?)

On a personal note, I hope that if/when Diagon Alley comes to USH that it won't replace WaterWorld only because I would hate to see it go, but you can't deny that it's sitting on prime real estate that would make sense for a Potter expansion (or for any new attraction)! My choice would be to make it as part of an expansion into the Lower Lot, but that might not make sense for several reasons- one of the primary ones being that if the soundstages are staying for the foreseeable future, there won't be a whole lot of room for it (unless one of the current attractions down there closes, which I doubt would happen). But then again, this is Universal- they've proven lately (especially in Orlando) that they can and will put new attractions in wherever they want!

I'm starting with 2017, since we have the announcements for 2016.

Carowinds:

2017:

-More family rides and Planet Snoopy Expansion

-New On-site Resort

2018:

-Major Launch Coaster using LSM as a lift or Record-Breaking wing coaster(norm recording-tallest,fastest,longest)

-New Show

2019:

-New Flat Ride(S&S Screamin' Swings)

-Triotech Dark Ride

2020:

-New Flat(HUSS Giant Frisbee)

or

-Twister Impulse Coaster

Some of this is my opinion-what I want and could possibly happen- but some of this is very possible, maybe not in the year I predicted though.
