cmullin
^^^ I don't understand why Batman the Dark Knight is so low on that list. It's my favorite floor less, and I've been on 5. But the old school B&M inverts are awesome, but I have to say the hypers and giga are just to much to not say their B&M's best work.
Hriscay
Now I have yet to ride a Dive Machine or a wing rider put i can rank the other 6.  1. Inverts (my favorite type period) 2. Floorless 3. Sit down loopers 4. Hypers 5. Stand-up 6. Flying  I'm sorry, I rode Nitro, Intimidator at Carowinds, and Goliath at SFOG and I personally did not like them. Maybe it's just because I compare them to Titan at SFOT, but I just don't think they come close. Nitro was the best but that's just because it doesn't trim itself. Goliath has a major trim after the downward helix that seems to slow the ride by 10 mph or more. You would think the company would have designed the ride to not need those in the first place. Sorry if I upset anyone, Titan just hands down beats any B&M ride to date. That being said, Superman Krypton Coaster is an amazing ride and the Batman clones poop all over Vekoma SLC's
Angry_Gumball
Inverts, especially since we have 2 intense inverts in CA, and a runner up that's a little more floaty but I still get grey spots after the loop (being KBF Silver Bullet). It doesn't have the snap though like Flight Deck and Batman have. Â Runner up is the flying coaster as the restraints I found to be comfortable. I've only ridden 1 flyer so my experience on that is next to none. Â Least favorite is the stand up coaster as they're the least comfortable. Double0Kevin
Hyper - Been on Apollo's Chariot and Raging Bull, both awesome Dive Machine - Been on the 2 US Dive Machines and loved them both, especially SheiKra. Flying - Been on Tatsu, Superman (SFGAm), and Manta; Manta being my favorite but all 3 are great. Invert - Montu, Raptor, Alpengeist, Batman (SFMM and SFGAm), Flight Deck (CGA), and Silver Bullet are all great but I've had some rough rides on a few (and boring ones on Silver Bullet). Floorless - Medusa (SFDK), Scream!, Dominator, Kraken. Medusa is by far the best, Dominator was intense but a little rough, Kraken was a huge let down and Scream! has always sucked. Sit Down - Kumba and Hulk both beat me up, not fun. Stand Up - No big surprise here, Vortex (CGA), Riddler's Revenge, Mantis were all pretty terrible. Andrewoplis
Here's my top 5 of the types of b&m and coaster's I've been on, which is exactly 5! Â 1. Inverted: I LOVE me some old school b&m inverts, Flight Deck at CGA probably being my favorite, but the Batman clones and Raptor are great too! 2. Flying: Mainly up here because I like Tatsu so much, I'm not that big of fan of the Superman clones, but they are still fun. 3.Hyper: Now, I think these coasters are really overrated, I don't find much airtime on the ones ive been on (Nitro and Raging Bull), they're really more fun than they are amazing to me. 4.Floorless: I think the floorless coasters are very "New School" to me, 1 or 2 good elements and the rest is kind of lame. But I do like the first 3 inversions on Medusa in the back. 5.Standup: What can I say? These would be GREAT coasters if they went to uncomfortable, and the ones I've been on have gotten a bit rough. dropzonefan
Hypercoasters: Tons of great airtime, comfortable seats, and just overall great layouts. I've ridden Raging Bull, Apollo's Chariot, Nitro, Goliath (SFoG), Goliath (La Ronde), Behemoth, and Diamondback. I prefer the V seating for the amazing feeling of isolation. How was Goliath at La ronde compaired to Behemoth?... I've been on Behemoth, and am going to La Ronde in like a week. Â Goliath at La Ronde simply has more hills, but lacks the speed and duration of airtime in hills. Also, the V style seating on Behemoth gives it an edge. As someone who went to La Ronde and Wonderland last year, I have to say that I actually like Goliath better. I found there were less trims, and enjoyed alot of some of the strange shaped hills near the end of the ride, as they provided some pretty interesting forces in the back row. Also thougt the sorta double down into the breaks was kinda cool. Â As for my favourite B&M coaster type, I've gotta go with inverts... I like my rides smooth and intense, so this ride type's right up my alley! On that trip to la ronde last year, Le Vampire, the other B&M in the park, Blew Goliath out of the water. IMO, hypers are fun, but if you want a smooth and intense ride, inverts, esprcally rides like BTR clones, are the way to go. Â While on the topic of inverts, really looking forward to see how Banshee turns out at KI. I'd love to see B&M make a comeback and start building intense rides again, and maybe banshee will be it. rcjp
For me it has to be the inverted models. They have a lot of potential to be intense, fast and thrilling. Still, I also like the floorless coasters (at least the ones I've ridden). And I think I is a shame that they didn't built more than a few sitting coasters as most of them were proper oldschool B&Ms, I just feel like there aren't enough of them to make a decent evaluation even though my favourite B&M (Dragon Khan) is one of them. chickenbowl
Well this is the age-old question isn't it? Â Well it' was hard to make my decision based on such a limited amount of each coaster, but I have now been on 30 B&M's around the US. It's not bad, but I will definitely ride more soon! Some models I've ridden quite a few of (9 Inverted, 6 Stand Up, 5 Floorless, 5 Mega), but others are still quite limited (3 Flying, 1 Dive, 1 Wing, 0 Sitdown). Based on what I've ridden I can give you my opinion: Â I really enjoy the Mega Coasters! Goliath @ SFOG and Nitro are incredible coasters! And I'd probably give this style my top spot right now! Â Inverted Coasters are very fun too and I can see the potential for them to be my favorite! I love Alpengiest, Afterburn, Flight Deck, and Raptor. I'm still thinking Montu might enhance my opinion soon! Â Griffon was an incredible Dive Coaster! But I feel like I can't quite form a full opinion based on a single coaster. Â Floorless Wing and Flying are all sort of middle ground for me, I've been on a few great (Tatsu) and a few almost mediocre (Scream!). Â Lastly, I actually dislike Stand Up Coasters. I find them uncomfortable, gimmicky, and generally sucky.
Ed Farmer
It's a toss up for me between their Inverted Coasters and their Stand Ups. These types, almost without exception will have my eyes watering by the time the train hits the brake run. The last Stand Up debuted in 1999, so it has the benefit of not suffering from B&M Suck Syndrome (BSS) which a few of their more recent Inverted designs sadly fell victim to. I really hope Banshee curbs that trend- there aren't too many of these types popping up anymore because a good amount of the places that could use one already have one- at least Stateside. Coastergenius250
I enjoyed GateKeeper so I would better appreciate Wingriders with Wing-Over Drops. Â But I LOVED Raptor, it was so tight, fast paced, and loaded with Positive G's near the end. So I would love a twisty invert. Also, a Floorless would be cool! DAT_OG_ROLL
I don't know why people hate on the flying coasters. They are awesome, if done right. Plus the GP eats them up. But my favorite are the inverts for sure, followed by sit downs and hypers.

gerstlaueringvar
Invert. I haven't been on any B&M hyper except for Sleeping Bull though, Dive Machines are boring except for a little air on the drops, Floor-less and sit-downs are forceful but not as intense as inverts. As for Wingriders, flyers and stand ups, credit run and go to Intamins!
kailisun98
B&M inverts are my favorite. Flight Deck @ CGA was my first B&M and after riding over 20 B&M's it is still my favorite. Hold on...Hair Raiser rides like an old school B&M with the perfect intensity. So I think it depends on how they build the ride.
JonnyRCT3
1. Inverted 2. Dive 3. Mega 4. Wing 5. Floorless / Sitting 6. Flying > Great Concept, terrible execution. 7. Stand Up > Why?

canobiefanatic
1. Inverts-They are the most intense ride style I have been on 2. Hypers- Love the airtime and helices! 3. Dive- Even though I have only been on Griffon, the drops are amazing. 4. Stand-Up- Personally, these are really fun in my opinion, and surprisingly smooth in my experience. 5. Flying- Pretzel loops, enough said. 6. Floorless- Too tame and forceless. Â I have not been on a wing rider or sitting coaster.
thrillseeker4552
I have only ridden 4 of the 8 types so far. Here is the list in descending order of favoritism.  1. Flying 2. Inverted 3. Floorless 4. Stand-up  However, I will ride my first Wing (GateKeeper) and Hyper (Diamondback) in a couple weeks, so I will likely come back and edit my list once I've ridden them. Woodie Warrior
1. Hyper Coaster- Full of speed and airtime 2. Sit-Down- Hulk and Wildfire are both great coasters. 3. Flying- Manta is really a crazy coaster experience. Superman was fun, but Manta really captured the feeling of flying better with its terrain encounters. 4. Wing- Completely unique ride experience. Not as force less as people make them out to be. 5. Inverted- Very forceful, but the older ones can be a bit rough. 6. Floorless- The Floorless trains are a gimmick that really don't work. They really feel no different than a B&M sit down coaster. 7. Stand-Up- Ouch. Edited July 2, 2014 by Woodie Warrior
