I've seen this before as well, especially the manual locking on superman. Yes, it happens regularly, and I really wish that six flags would stop hiring so many employees that have no idea what they are doing. On any given ride you can see at least 2 employees standing around doing nothing. The ops at sfog have gone to complete shit and that's one of the reasons I hardly ever go anymore.

The Model Cyclone Racer
DAT_OG_ROLL replied to hillflyer's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Really cool how you're labeling every support and angle of the track. Look luck with the project man, the airplane came out great. -
I think that another b&m is possible and would be great but six flags hasn't bought one recently and I don't see it happening. There's no way sf would buy a dive or giga so that leaves it to a wing or floorless. But I really just don't see it happening. Do you guys think a hurricane harbor expansion is coming? Cause I hope so

Worst ride "neuters"
DAT_OG_ROLL replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well now that we're talking about that kind of neutering, acrophobia at sfog comes to mind. You're pretty much suspended 200 ft in the air by your balls. Awesome ride though, it's worth the slight pain lol. Here's a old photo I found on tpr to illustrate -

New Coaster Dynamix hyper
DAT_OG_ROLL replied to DAT_OG_ROLL's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Thanks!^ yeah cd is real hard to come by these days. I'm pretty sure they still have scorpions in stock tho. Ok, time for an update. Shaping on this turn is a lil weird but oh well She's starting to look pretty sexy I think -
Yes, you read that right, someone actually making a new CD model. Decided to go with a hyper because the sit down trains lose a ton of speed doing inversions. Anyways, I've had my Phoenix boxed up in my closet for the longest time, and I had been looking to buy a scorpion but I'm 17 and broke as hell. A couple weeks ago my friend told me he would sell me his scorpion for $50. I couldn't believe my luck. Slight downside though, is that he only had 5 of the 7 cars for it, but either way that's a deal. Now that I have a scorpion, Phoenix, and a small expansion pack, I've got enough parts to build some kickass coasters. Here's a few pictures of a hyper I started on today. Ps if anyone has like 2 extra scorpion cars laying around I'll buy em, I really want to build some custom inverts. Ignore that dive train lol I was using it to test while I'm cleaning my Phoenix train I know my shaping is not the best but I might smooth it out later

Didn't someone say there were markings near carosel hill? Anyways, pretty excited about this. Kinda sucks that we are losing another classic ride but it's replacement should be worthy. I'm hoping we get a flat ride package eventually after this year. Even with the addition of skyscreamer and jokers chaos the park doesn't have too many flats. But as far as the new ride goes, i think it will be justice league. I'm pretty sure that area where the bumper cars was is not in the area that gets flooded sometimes. If they were to get a new dark ride, this is the ideal place because the occasional flood wouldn't ruin the ride. If they were to get a coaster, it makes more sense to put it where Thomas town/ whistle stop park is because there's more room over there and that area needs some sprucing up. That's just my train of thought though I could be wrong. Either way I'm excited for the new addition.

"Metal Dan" seriously don't look that one up unless you're sure you can handle it -
Went to holiday in the park last night from 5-10. I was pretty impressed wit all the decorations and the atmosphere was nice. It was packed though, we got there at 5( an hour after it opened) and the lines to get in the park were pretty long. I saw dale kaetzel outside the front entrance gate talking to people, which was cool. Later that night, my friends and I walked to the back of the park only to find that the cotton states area and superman were closed. I was kinda bummed but Im just glad the park stays open this late in the year. I had a great time and hopefully I'll go again before the seasons over. And by the way, I picked up a cinnamon pretzel( gotta love that dining pass) and it was actually really good.
