AtlCoasterNut Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 That seems like an odd place to store any track for the new coaster (in the "new" fenced in area). There is no access to the park from there, at least large enough to get track into. You would think they would build something a bit more stable, or at least bigger/taller, where you can't just pick it up and move it (the fence) to access the area. That small fence just doesn't jive to me for safety reason's. As for driving - Atlanta is about a 4.5ish hour drive to Savna & 4ish hours to Dollywood. Driving directly to the park from the airport, it's about a 20-30 min trip - depending on traffic.
ParkTrips Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I went to SFOG today with some friends and there was no visible construction yet. I'd imagine they won't start construction until later this month or October. However, there was a fenced-off section of the parking lot where track pieces could potentially be stored. I guess we'll find out soon! This entire coaster - from footers, to track, to electronics - can be put together within the span of several weeks. With the scheduled opening day 9 months away, I wouldn't be surprised if the track hasn't even been fabricated at this time, yet alone shipped across the Atlantic and ready to sit in the park's parking lot.

While I would imagine that you are right about the ride being a quick build (considering its size), it was weird seeing a part of the parking lot sectioned off like that. I suppose it could be for anything, but you never know.
jynx242 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I'm flying into Georgia in September, is SFOG driving distance from Savannah? Mario M. Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Hi, I have built a No Limits Simulation of the Dare Devil Dive Coaster and made a Video. I hope you will like it. Regards Mario
Mario M. Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 No, I buildt the coaster only by one picture and the facts from the parkwebsite (and rcdb.com).
Gigalyte Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Wow great job on that recreation of Dare Devil Your ride makes me want to ride it. Going on that pic SF released with the announcment I wasn't all that excited to ride it, but after seeing that if Dare Devil is anything like that it should be a very fun coaster imo.
mr. cockblock Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Hi,I have built a No Limits Simulation of the Dare Devil Dive Coaster and made a Video. I hope you will like it. Regards Mario Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing Mario.
robbalvey Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) The layout has been released on Ride Entertainment Group's Facebook Page: Be sure to click the link on the FB page and "like" them so you get future updates as well! --Robb Edited September 16, 2010 by robbalvey
imawesome1124 Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 That's a pretty different layout than most of the Eurofighters I have seen, but it looks interesting. It definately does look like a lot of fun, maybe I will be able to get down there next ride it.
liftsifter Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I hope to god they're not putting OSTR on something like that... But wait. This is Six Flags. Nevermind.
ericm95 Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I hope to god they're not putting OSTR on something like that... But wait. This is Six Flags. Nevermind. Don't all Eurofighters have OSTR though?
kf2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Perhaps this is a precursor to the rumored installation of a new coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain next year?? Looks like fun!
CoasterGuy06 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I hope to god they're not putting OSTR on something like that... But wait. This is Six Flags. Nevermind. Don't all Eurofighters have OSTR though? Yes, all Euro Fighters have OTSRs.
davisal771 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Let's not start another OTSR fight like what happened in the SFMM thread...
Looty Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Is it just me, or does the layout look VERY similar to Anubis at Plopsaland in Belgium? In fact, take away the launch and the twist on the first drop of Anubis and the layout is almost a complete copy of this. Looks great regardless!
coasterbear30 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Yes, it was said earlier in the thread that this was a direct copy of Anubis minus the launch and top hat. I, for one, am super stoked about this thing being in my backyard. I love Mystery Mine and it is nice to have another eurofighter in the US, and especially at my home park. I think people that have SFMM and SFGAdv take it for granted that they have such great rides when parks like SFOG only get a new ride every 5 years. Can't wait to ride DDD!
Headphazed Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 In case you were wondering (you probably weren't), as of yesterday the parking lot is still fenced off near Batman. Which is odd if it was supposed to be for a special event, because it's been up for 2 weeks. No sign of construction yet, though.
CoasterGuy06 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 From Ride Entertainment's Facebook page: Word has it that Dare Devil Diving is a lot more fun with a lapbar. Look for Gerstlauer's first Euro-Fighter at Six Flags over Georgia next spring! Click Here World's first Euro Fighter without OTSRs
deathbydinn Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Wesley Foster First Euro- Fighter without OTSR's? Ride Entertainment Group of Companies Affirmative. I think I'm more excited to see how the cars turn out than the actual coaster!
