swrutherford
Wow. They're really going all out with the theme on this ride. I mean... so far they made a sign that says the name of the ride in plain, Helvetica font and out it on the roof of a rectangular metal building. Reminds me of something... cal1br3tto
That sign looks great installed. The thing to the right looks good too.
coasterbill
To clarify, I'm sure it will look great when it's done... I just thought it was funny that as soon as that sign went up it was drawing praise about them "going all out" with the theming.
steamedturtle
The off season is long, and full of terrors... But the 'W' looks weird with vertical lines, rather than angled ones, like in this picture:

I mean... so far they made a sign that says the name of the ride in plain, Helvetica font and out it on the roof of a rectangular metal building. Look at the bottom left of the FB picture... they're building a pretty substantial faux-brick entrance there, and apparently some covered structures in that pavilion area as well. All indicators point to some pretty good theme elements, although I sincerely hope that the "covered pavilion structure" isn't cover for KD's first fluffy bunny rental location, and that fluffy bunnies will continue to live in freedom on ride platforms ( ). Otherwise, two thumbs up so far!
drummermattk
It seems that the first cycle has been taken? We can confirm that Twisted Timbers’ Blue Train has been “pushed” over the hill at least 4 times and has been successful in making a complete circuit. Full scale testing will begin as soon as sensors are added and online to allow two train dispatch. #TT #gettwisted #kdfanatics Kings Dominion Fanatics on Facebook

Design choice or...? EXACTLY. . to my eye, it looks like the placement is off. The Art Director in me (I have a degree from University of Texas), totally thinks that the "Twisted" needs to be shifted to the right a bit. . so that the bottom of the "T" will line up with the "I" in Timbers. what that would accomplish is make the "W" in Twisted, mirror the "M" in Timbers. .and be much more pleasing to the eye. that the W & the M look so similar, makes me wonder if that was the original intention? Design choice or...? that's got to be a bad design choice, or the sign company mistake and trying to pass it off without correcting it, imo. Mossed
Love seeing this thing testing. Can't wait for reviews to start rolling in. Cedar Fair is going all out on these first two RMC's, and I'm hoping that continues through the chain.

bill_s
I was already thinking the cars will look good in real life, seeing the vid I'm thinking the truck front isn't very big. Extreme closeups import no sense of scale. Looking at the video and scrolling twitter, delicious. I think people will be able to find it with that sign .. Would they flip a "T" at the last minute? WolfBobs
Fastlane question here for the KD locals and regulars. Does KD offer the perk for Platinum Pass holders to purchase the FL+ band for the FL price in park? I've searched through most of KD's website and have found no mention of this discount perk for the pass. I know it's offered at CP and until very recently not advertised on the website as well. Thanks in advanced for any help!
anonymouscactus
^ Unfortunately I believe Cedar Point is the only Cedar Fair park with that perk. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
coasterbill
I'm not sure, but if you show your Platinum Pass you're going to get a discount anyway since it gives you a discount on pretty much everything so I'd think it would work out about the same wouldn't it?
WolfBobs
^^Possible, the Pass discount is usually 10% off merch and food. Whereas the Pass discount is the FL+ for the FL price which can be a pretty significant discount at Point with their FL prices. I believe it usually works out to be a 20-30% discount depending on the day. Guess I'll find out soon enough when the park opens and people start going in a month!
