rcjp Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 ^But I thought these new SLCs weren't rough (with these new trains and hopefully better track work)
Paradox Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Yea that SLC actually looks smooth with the improvements Vekoma has made to the original design.
CoasterFEV Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 They keep inventing new stuff and they have loads of great coasters: -custom dueling coaster Haven't gotten a good laugh like this from a post in a long time!
Hhappy Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 who said space is an issue? Just see what Grona Lund has done in the past with Twister and other rides and see what Phantasialand is doing. They are adding a giant custom massively themed ride and now they announced there will be a second coaster in that area?? damn.. This is already a giant bowl of coaster track.. Guess there's always a way (as long as you really want to)
KBrylczyk Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 ^ In the words of certain adult film stars, "we'll make it fit."
KarlaKoaster Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 When was the last time they actually built a bad and rough ride? http://rcdb.com/12263.htm Your move. To be fair, that is a 21 year old design.
Gutterflower Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 And now they have vests rather than head banger OTSR they are much better rides. I actually really enjoyed Arkham Asylum. They've certainly improved recently.
jedimaster1227 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 It is great to see the rate at which this park continues to expand! More coasters are certainly not a bad piece of news either!
TyRush Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Anything new? Hasn't been any updates for some time!
alexinla Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Anything new? Hasn't been any updates for some time! Between Christmas and New Years is pretty much vacation time in Germany aka no construction. For almost daily updated pictures, you can always check the Phantafirends Picture thread
StealthFan Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Phantasialand just officially anounced "RAIK" on their Facebook Page.It will be the "largest" Family-Boomerang in the world (talk about a record ). Source (warning: Facebook) I have no issued with this what so ever! The Junior Boomerangs are a lot of fun and it will complement the spaghetti coaster fantastically with its offering for the younger riders.
Ed Farmer Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Who said space is an issue?Just see what Grona Lund has done in the past with Twister and other rides and see what Phantasialand is doing. DaveDowning Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 That is no concept art! Thats a fan-created rendering. ^^
CSLKennyNI Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 On the Phantasialand forum Phantafriends there has been some talk about strong rumours that the Race to Atlantis simulator (housed in the epcot style dome) will be demolished after the Winter season. A number of people claim to have been told by staff to ride it this winter as it is their last chance. Considering there are only 2 weeks left in the season I assume a official announcement must be coming soon? Also there has been construction on going for the past couple of months on the site of the former Smokey Diggers Camp - rumours suggest the administration and event buildings which are currently behind Race to Atlantis are going to be relocated there. This would open up the whole area between Old Berlin and Wuze Town, an area around the same size of Klugheim, for their next major project after Taron? There seems to be a 2 year cycle at the moment with starting major projects Maus - 2010, Chiapas - 2012, Taron - 2014, ???? - 2016? Only rumours but it will be interesting to see if this happens - I really hope it does as I think the Atlantis ride is awful and will be glad to see its demise but also the park have no space to expand so an area of this size would be greatly beneficial. Means nothing good like Temple of the Night Hawk and Hollywood Tour will have to be demolished to make way for new things. I wonder will it be a new theme area or an extension of Berlin or Fantasy and what sort of ride it could be, hopefully a good dark ride? If this does come about all I know is it will be awesome like all of Phantasialand's work!!!
TyRush Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 This project has to be costing them quite the buck. It will be interesting to see what else they come up with after this zoo
RCT3Bross Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 ^^ Would be awesome if it's true, This park is literally building all there big rides in a row. I can imagen how the mangers office is over there, "Okay our next big ride will be Taron and will come here and will cost blah blah blah." "but sir we're not done with Chiapas yet." 2 years latter. "Okay time for the next big thing." "Like we're done with Taron." Progress is good, so I welcome this with open arms. Too bad Race for Atlantis will have to clear then, not my favorite ride at all, but if they change the theme, a new movie, and normal previews then this ride would have had potential again. It's unique in these area's. But this is one of the oldest rides in the park, so it would not surprise me when it's gone.
KBrylczyk Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Atlantis is pretty terrible. I say kill it dead. Just don't touch Hollywood Boat Ride. That thing is a masterpiece.
CSLKennyNI Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 ^ The Hollywood Boat Tour is safe for a while I think. The building it is in also hosts the park's Dinner Show Fantissima. The show had quite a decent refurbishment before the 2015 season so they won't be demolishing it any time soon. Only thing that could happen is a retheme or refurbishment but with all these big projects do they have any money left??
SharkTums Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Very cool of Phantasialand to do the two coasters intermixed with each other!
BDG Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Some photos taken over the weekend by our Phantafriends... More rockwork being added here: The new look of the RiverQuest lift tower... ...and RiverQuest itself: Dirt and plants underneath Taron: source: Phantafriends PureFun & Danvarius
jedimaster1227 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This looks like such a twisty layout! I can't wait to see the POV from when the ride starts running!
