BarryH Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 What was wrong with Project Stealth? But Humdinger gets my vote.
Shockwave Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 This is one poll that really needs hijacking. If enough of us vote for Humdinger, we could be laughing for a long time come next March.
Inferno Insane Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 How strange the poll's has magically disappear. :? Didn't last long.
Hicko Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 The poll has gone? I was just gonna vote for humdinger
robbeal Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Humdinger. Jesus please no. I can just picture the situation on 12 months, when one of my non-enthusiast mates asks me about the big new coaster at Thorpe Park. "What's it called then?" *mumbles* "...humdinger..." "What?! Surely you didn't just say Humdinger?!" "er... yeah.." "That's an awful name! It's even worse than Rita!" ...and yeah, I'd hve to agree with them.
Rooey Posted September 1, 2005 Author Posted September 1, 2005 Here is some concept art that appeared on the site
deathmole Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 "That's an awful name! It's even worse than Rita!" ...and yeah, I'd hve to agree with them. LIES! It's a GREAT name, I can see it now, TPR's 2006 Thorpe Park visit, come and have ERT on a HUMDINGER of a ride, it's shitty on so many levels that it rules! EDIT: Read the sections Q&A, oh man, Erol from CoasterForce stuck it to the man with his question, lmfao - they'll have loved wriggling out of that one.
Meteornotes Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Naming it Humdinger means I'd buy at least one shirt! That name owns... dt
Nrthwnd Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 And the voting section for the name is gone now. Or, so it appears to (not) be. And yes, definitely deserving of a t-shirt if it gets that name, LOL. The HumD, heh heh.
tinhead Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Looks like the new track has started arriving for Thorpes new coaster. New track pics
Jeezus Juice Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Black? Wow, I guess they do make track other than red.
RctInfinity Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Or green, lol. Did the park decide a name yet?I voted for The Edge, it sounds cool to me. 8)
Snuff Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 I was thinking more Navy Blue. It looks very nice.
deathmole Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 It look's Navy Blue to me, and it looks quite nice at that too, sure looks like a "Humdinger" to me, man that name rules!
coasterlover420 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 If you look at the rcdb renderings, you can see the hyrauic building themed as like a gas station. Then the names threw me off! I guess humdinger is the best of the names given, though. -sigh-
verticalzero Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I won't be riding this, It's just another rocket coaster like TTD or KK. Up and over without the twist on the other side. They should of done an out n back like "Steel Eel" or a Woodie. Thorpe Park is getting better, they should re-profile X-No Way Out to an indoor Wild Mouse with Lasers, dry ice etc.
Hattuchili Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I think that coaster is not so bad. I have never ridden TTD or KK. That is the fact, that makes it more interesting for me. I hope we can ride it next year on the UK Trip. --Sören
nemesis-storm Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 More pieces have arrived & the first track bits are in place On Thorpes website http://www.thorpepark.com/explore/2006/photo_diary_September.asp
Rooey Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Seems to be coming along at a good pace. The one thing that sort of irks me about this project, is why they went for a "mini" version of Kingda Ka....why couldnt we have got something more similar to X-Lerator?
Shockwave Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 The height and the speed alone will be enough to sway Joe Public. The UK hasn't got a 200ft tall ride for 12 years.
Rooey Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Indeed, i was telling my brother about it, he was most excited. It will do well. Oh well have to wait till my Southern California trip next year!
N:IRocks Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Stealth seems to be coming along nicely. Some how when i first saw the names, i thought they were having a laugh.. i can't believe they are serious with those.
Ed Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 It's going up very fast which is becoming common for the smaller rides. The only parts left to put up are the tophat and turn before the station. http://www.southparks.org/site/archives/projstealth/page2/index.html
