Diamondbacker27 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 ^ It was posted a few pages back, but thanks for keeping us updated
palmerleeberry Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Oh Boy, I was blown away with the retracking of Thunder Run, then came the announcement of Lighting Run, then the website was up and running and showed a ton of water slides, then Zeppelin was shown in its new location. Now, we got Frog Hopper, and those things are FUN!!! With so many good things that are happening at the park, I could nearly forget one important coaster. ROLLER SKATER - TAKE A RIDE AROUND OUR RINK!!!
Koasterking48 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Screamscape claims that the ARM drop tower will be ready to install very soon. On a bit of a side note: Is this the famed model of drop tower that actually packs a punch?
Geauga Dog Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Yes, it should be the same drop tower from ARM/Larson.
Rollercoaster Rider Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Yes, it should be the same drop tower from ARM/Larson. If it's like Waldameer/Beech Bend, It'll be amazing.
Midgetman82 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Houston, we have liftoff. My first time back since before track arrived! Basically the whole site's dug up with track/supports here and there. And a small part of track, from zig-zags to beginning of bunny hill finale, is up! Closer look, so you don't have to press your faces against the screen at the previous pic. Water park's also getting some look after
BotanicalStig Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 This coaster is going to be great. I still love that color scheme.
rcjp Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I like the look of the track. It somehow feels more modern than Arrow's.
tarheel1231 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 C'mon marketing department, WTF! We're getting more updates than the park is giving out!
Koasterking48 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 C'mon marketing department, WTF! We're getting more updates than the park is giving out! They are probably very busy prepping the park for opening day. Give them a break and be glad there are any updates at all. Also, their last construction update was only a few days ago.
Midgetman82 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah, I'm sure the marketing team covers a vast portion of things including relations and getting news of the park out there. They don't have people solely dedicated to updating the online and social media aspect of the park. (Maybe down the road, they'll have one. Who knows.)
mudvayneimn Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Thanks for the update Midgetman82! Holy crap! Those surf curve track segments are so close to the ground it look like they're just lying there. And If the ride maintains it's speed throughout the course, those bunny hops are going to be insane! Besides the updates on their FB page and the occasional local news story, there really doesn't seem to be a whole lot going on from a marketing standpoint. If it were me, there'd be 50 pictures of that pointy airtime hill.
vacoaster09 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) Midgetman if you had not mentioned that the zig-zag portion was actually in place, I would've thought those track pieces were just lying on the ground. Looking great so far! I love the blue and how close to the ground this gets! Edited March 3, 2014 by vacoaster09
bill_s Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I like the look of the track. It somehow feels more modern than Arrow's. While Arrow welded several pieces together, this looks like the ties are cut from a single piece of thick sheet metal. Smoother and, in this case, curvier. The upstop wheel assemblies are either smaller or have less room to spare. It is still "C" form track rather than "T" like most modern steel coasters.
_koppen Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 That actually looks like Proslide's version of the Constrictor. It uses small diameter pipeline tube, then it becomes bigger and with a tight helix. Interesting.

Midgetman82 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 ^He meant the blue and purple slide, not the orange. the beginning part of it looks like it gets wider before going into the helix, then it gets tighter near the end before green.
Mrlittle Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Thanks for the photos of the track going up. It looks magnificent.
gerstlaueringvar Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Thanks for the update! Lightning Run looks fantastic.
Mrlittle Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 BAM, more footers. I have a feeling this is going to go up quickly. From the Kentucky Kingdom Facebook.
Meteornotes Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Nice to see construction going well. Hopefully the ride will be ready on opening day, or at least close to it. dt
