coasterfreak101 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 It's also important to know that this ride only takes up the splashdown/station area of Rim Runner. The lift hill and the large boat storage area is still open and they could easily fit 2 or 3 more flat rides in there in addition to El Loco. Another El Loco!
XYZ Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 El Loco looks amazing. I have a feeling it will be in my top 10 when I ride it in April. Thanks for posting this huge amount of photos.

Mr Stratosphere Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Yes the lift is still in place, the only parts that were demolished were the beginning of the trough, splashdown pool and drop.
MayTheGForceBeWithYou Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 ^The rock work around that is also still there, right?
Mrlittle Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 If you scroll down really quick, that recap update looks like a time-lapse video.
A.J. Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 If I didn't have to download all of the images individually, I'd totally make a GIF of the construction.
Mr Stratosphere Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 ^The rock work around that is also still there, right? Yes and they patched any of the holes matching everything up quite well!
kidcoaster 2 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Wow great update! I really like how it changes the look of the park.
MayTheGForceBeWithYou Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 ^The rock work around that is also still there, right? Yes and they patched any of the holes matching everything up quite well! Good to hear. Was just curious seeing as the lift of Rim Runner is still intact whether or not any work was done on that end of the park.
Mr Stratosphere Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Nothing has been touched on that side of the park. The only this is they used the maintenance area of Rim Runner for a maze at Fright Dome.
cfc Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 You are nothing if not thorough--nice, detailed recap.
Gnome Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Wow! That was quite the update! Very nice seeing the ride's construction from beginning to end. The boat ride was nice but I think everyone will enjoy el loco a bit more. I'll have to check it out next time I roll through vegas
azza29 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 This looks like such a great ride! I was riding Green Lantern at Movie World on the weekend (and having a blast!), just reminded me that the El Locos are definitely some of the better "compact" coasters out there, especially when they have the lapbar-only trains. Might have to tack a Vegas side-trip onto my next US vacation just to ride this thing!
Randomman295 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Holy recap, Batman. Biggest construction update this site's seen in years. Can't wait until a testing video is released.
yay101 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Is that a Chaos ride I see???? I thougt those were all gone!
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 For some odd reason, Adventure Dome is keeping that ride in great condition from what John has said. Which is great, cause the ride is a lot of fun.
rolercstrluvr Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I miss when SCBB had their Chaos, then Fireball took it's place.
GwaziBSRider1 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I used to love Chaos rides as a kid, but they make me so sick now. Good riddance to them, I say!
Mr Stratosphere Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I miss when SCBB had their Chaos, then Fireball took it's place. Didn't they have a traveling model and not a park model? I found the traveling models to be very frightening and very shaky. Adventuredome's park model feel much more sturdy.
PKI Jizzman Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Thanks for taking the time to post the time lapse. I can't wait to see videos of this ride and pictures of the pull through, this ride is going to be really unique!

I found the traveling models to be very frightening and very shaky. Adventuredome's park model feel much more sturdy. I think most of SCBB's rides are indeed traveling models and not park models. So I guess you could say SCBB is a plug and play park, if you don't like something, take it out and replace it.
rctneil Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Thanks for the look back throughout the construction of El Loco. Looks like a nice twist to a standard layout model. Quite clever tweaking an off the shelf design to fit the location.

Mr Stratosphere Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 It is true, but honestly, all of the rides at Adventuredome are very well maintained, they all look new and are very well kept. Even Canyon Blaster, 20 years later, still one of the smoother Arrow coasters out there. Super excited for El Loco, and to see what the future of the park holds.
