cinciDAWGS12 Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Definitely Loch Ness at the top. Then Vortex at KI and Tennessee Tornado at Dollywood.
SFAfan#1 Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 If X doesnt count then Big Bad Wolf at BGE gets my vote. Canyon Blaster at Circus Circus is second.
VF15 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 My favorite coaster I've ridden from Arrow is definitely Magnum. I think most Arrow coasters are fun ride rides but nothing spectacular, however, Magnum is the one exception for me. I will admit that the first drop and the hill that follows are a bit underwhelming, but it gets much better after that. The hill after the first hill offers some nice sustained floater air, the turnaround is pretty good, and the return run with all of the ejector air is just awesome. I personally don't find it to be rough or painful as long as you tighten the seatbelt as much as you can.
Generational Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Either Great American Scream Machine that was at GAdv, or Magnum
coasterbill Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Big Bad Wolf, but out of the ones that are still operating I give Tennessee Tornado the slight edge. Honorable mention goes to Magnum, Ninja, Vortex at Canada's Wonderland and the Bat.
chickenbowl Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Tennessee Tornado and Magnum for different reasons, but both are really good!
mike541x Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Big Bad Wolf still remains as my favorite, but for the ones in operation, Loch Ness Monster gets my vote. Still wish I could've ridden Drachen Fire though. Tennessee Tornado is high up on my bucket list, hoping to ride that sometime next year.
BuffaloWingRider Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Magnum is the best I have ridden, but I want to get on X2 and Tennessee Tornado.
RollerManic Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 TN Tornado was down when I went (as they were replacing the brakes). I would like to reride Magnum now that I'm a more seasoned enthusiast than I was in '09.
AirMBTB Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 (edited) I originally thought Magnum, but I changed my mind. It's Demon at SFGAm. Huge points for Devilish Charm. Plus, I know how to ride it now. Demon Midwest! This is where the magic happens. Notice the misaligned track backbone. Demon West had this drop neutered in the 90s. Edited October 21, 2015 by AirMBTB
boldikus Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I guess Phantoms Revenge doesnt count, huh? Â In that case, Magnum!
cfc Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I'd have to say Tennessee Tornado at Dollywood. It's a ride that, from first glance, should be terrible, yet it's really quite good.
Ed Farmer Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I originally thought Magnum, but I changed my mind. It's Demon at SFGAm. Huge points for Devilish Charm. Plus, I know how to ride it now. This gets my vote as well. Demon's first drop is the hidden gem of SFGAm. IIRC, it also had some of it's track replaced with that of the dearly departed Shockwave, so there's the sentimental aspect as well. Â KI's Vortex, BGW's Loch Ness Monster and DW's Tennessee Tornado are my other favorites of those that are still around. Viper at SFMM is very high on my bucket list. It'll be sad when these things start disappearing at a faster clip.
Sythe Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Vortex at Canada's wonderland. But anaconda is a quite close 2nd
Coaster19 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I need to get on Tennessee Tornado! But as of now, Magnum is my number one! I used to hate that ride, but now it is simply one of my favorites.
Midgetman82 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 X2 Almost voted for Vortex at KI, and almost completely forgot X2 was made by Arrow. My vote goes for that as well. Â Also this thread has got to have the biggest revival I've ever seen on this website! A 7-year gap!
A.J. Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Tennessee Tornado for sure, but it's still an Arrow - very uncomfortable.
