AaronYee
The announcement time is 5:30am EST, quite early! Also, it mentions that this will be the park's largest announcement in history, woAaah

cfc
Yukon Striker Coming to Canada's Wonderland! A New B&M Dive Machine! From the park's website: It’s 1897 and a flood of men and women are venturing into the untamed wilderness of northwestern Canada, fueled by little more than rumour of limitless gold. The headwaters of the Yukon spread beyond an unforgiving landscape, tempting newcomers with the promise of riches that lay buried in ice-cold riverbeds throughout the Klondike. Most prospectors are doomed to fail. The journey is treacherous along the Chilkoot Trail, a steep and punishing climb high into the coastal mountain range. The seasons are extreme and the backcountry, for all its raw beauty, is unyielding. Among the lawless boom towns and outposts, only a few will succeed in this quest for glory. A Golden Eagle soars high on the winds watching the perilous hunt. Who will endure the longest journey? Who will conquer the tallest mountain pass, the treacherous terrain and rise worthy of the name YUKON STRIKER…. Ride Stats Designed by: Bolliger & Mabillard Coaster type: Dive Height of drop: 245 feet (75 metres) *includes underground tunnel Top Speed: 130 km/h (80 mph) Inversions: 4 Length: 3,625 feet (1,105 metres) Duration: 3 minutes, 25 seconds Trains: 3 Riders per Train: 24 World Records 1. Originally conceived of for the park's opening in 1981, Frontier Canada was never realized until now. Other attractions to be featured in the section include Mighty Canadian Minebuster, Lumberjack, Soaring Timbers, Flying Canoes, Vortex, Timberwolf Falls and White Water Canyon. New for 2019 - WinterFest WinterFest offers a new season of holiday fun in 2019, when guests at Canada’s Wonderland will be treated to an all-new immersive holiday experience taking place in late November and December. During WinterFest, the park will be transformed into an enchanted winter wonderland complete with uniquely themed areas, dozens of Christmas trees, millions of spectacular lights, ice-skating, live entertainment, savory treats, crafts and hands-on family activities. The park’s fountain on International Street will become Snowflake Lake where guests can enjoy ice skating amid brilliant holiday lights. Each night, singers and dancers will set the stage for the celebratory lighting ceremony of a 70-foot-tall (21 m) Christmas tree featuring more than 40,000 sparkling ornaments. WinterFest visitors can feast on savory treats and holiday favourites like turkey, gourmet hot chocolate and peppermint fudge, and then catch one of a dozen live holiday-themed shows like Cool Yule Christmas and Jingle Jazz. nicman
Finally, I am very much looking forward to this new coaster although the only thing that I don't like is that extended mcbr. It took nearly 16 years for b&m to take a hint from rct for the vertical loop. Winterfest also looks really cool, I hope they redesign the Wonder Mountain's Guardian game for a Christmas based theme like they do with it for Halloween Haunt. chemical_echo
It will be interesting to see just which “select” rides will be open during the winterfest, and the impact or barriers temperatures will have on these decisions. Been a long time since I worked at the park but, I remember being told that most coasters can't run under a certain temperature, which will be above or average winter temperatures. I'd expect to see the two carousels running along with since select slower/medium level flats.
vertigomkie
Finally, a dive machine with a vertical loop!
bluestreak
Ride looks cool but god damn what is that name.
WolfBobs
This ride will suck because it's not named ZIZ!!! Time to start planning my 2019 road trip to CW! Love the colors, name and theme. Definitely an amazing looking layout for a Dive Machine!
Coasterguy21
I have been dreaming of the day where we would see a vertical loop on a Dive Machine! B&M designs loops so well, it just seemed like a natural fit. Now, we finally have it! Terrific layout and that drop will take the cake I think. A dive 23 feet under the lake. Tunnels are great on coasters and take Oblivion for example, they're terrific on Dive Coasters. But the small looking opening with a wide train and surrounded by the water here will make it even more thrilling (especially for the GP'ers that don't get around like all of us do). Nice action packed first half of the ride before turning into a somewhat more of a scenic maneuver ending (a la GateKeeper) which I know some will probably gripe about, but if the first 3/4 of the ride is terrific then I don't care what comes after the MCBR. Cannot wait to ride it next season to see where it ranks against the other Dives.
Johnlloyd
Yukon Striker looks like a very good addition to the park. I am glad they went with the theming and name for the coaster that they did decide upon, as it has now allowed them to re-brand the whole White water Canyon section in to Frontier Canada, which was originally planned for the park back in 1981. I look forward to riding this record-breaker of a dive coaster in 2019!
jedimaster1227
I'm pretty impressed with this layout! Definitely a unique dive coaster for sure! Another great coaster to add to this park's lineup!
pryonisys
This looks cool. The only other dive coaster that I've been on is Griffon and that was fun too. I very much like the idea of the drop into the tunnel. The mcbr is kind of odd, but we'll see what it's like when the coaster really exists. Invertalon
Looks awesome, best dive layout for sure. I think that little airtime pop after the MCBR may be a hair better than expected, at least we can hope. Wish it had the old OTSR's though... Boo to the vests on dive coasters! grsupercity
It looks great until the mcbr. After that is meh. That first drop in the back seat will amazing
Hilltopper39
I love the drop into the tunnel, I don't think any of the other "big" dive coasters had the first drop into a tunnel like that. The layout after the first inversion kind of reminds me of a compact eurofighter, except it's compact for a gigantic 8 across dive coaster train. The vertical loop should be fun to experience on a train that large.
PKI Jizzman
Yukon, eh. I'm disappointed there is no mashed potato splash down. Or the train doesn't mash potatoes on the dive. Looks like fun!
Dombot
This looks great! That loop was certainly unexpected. Still, the fact that it's not named Ziz does detract a few points in my book.
Condor
Ride looks cool but god damn what is that name. I'm convinced Cedar Fair is just using names of Pacific Rim jaegers for their new coasters now. I actually happen to like this one though! And this layout is far and away more original and better than I think anyone expected. I don't care how mediocre I thought Valravn was, Striker Eureka----I mean Yukon Striker looks incredible. ripleybl
CW is now on the same level as what CF is doing with Carowinds with this amazing addition. Never been to CW, but I am making a trip next year for sure!
robbalvey
So a few things to note.... - I really like the layout of this ride. As a sucker for vertical loops, and as someone who in every single Dive Machine coaster I ever built in RCT I always put a vertical loop in, it's great to finally see one with a vertical loop. - I think the name is just fine. IMO, it's the Canadian version of Gold Striker, whatever that means! - I'm impressed I only had to ban four people this morning for not being able to control themselves long enough to talk about the new ride until one of our moderators was able to post about it. Well done, TPR, most of you guys were able to follow simple instructions. I'm impressed! - Let me explain further for those who felt it was "unfair" that we banned people for either leaking the information or couldn't wait for one of the mods to post about it: No one scores any bonus point for being the "first" to talk about a new ride, post about a new ride, or have the information about a new ride. Especially if that information is LEAKED and it comes before the park has a chance to make their official announcement. It's disrespectful to the park and steals their thunder away. I feel like for most people, they just want to be "first" to post about it because it somehow makes them feel better about themselves probably due to some insecurity or entitlement issues. It doesn't. The park has put forth a lot of time, effort, and money into an official announcement, and everyone should respect that. If you had a friend who was announcing if their baby was a boy or a girl, but they told you in private prior to their announcement, would you go to all your friends and tell them taking away their little surprise? No. And if you did you'd be a huge asshole. And that's how I view people who leak or post early about park announcements. And why do we prefer one of our mods to make the announcement on our forums? Because people don't know how to make proper announcement posts and usually post pure garbage, like simply a link and that's it, and we end up having to delete that post anyway. It really comes down to this: If you cannot respect our rules, no matter how insane you think they may be, don't post here. Anyway, to the rest of you, we thank you for your patience and understanding. It really is greatly appreciated. thedlr
Yukon, eh. I'm disappointed there is no mashed potato splash down. Or the train doesn't mash potatoes on the dive. Hah. I just got that. Looks like a fun layout. Post-MCBR should provide some good off-ride footage. We've never been to CW and I think it's finally time to go visit my cousin in Scarborough again. Geauga Dog
I really like the layout on this and I’ll be one of those that may gripe about the second half but after the second dive off the mid course I would have liked to have seen the zero-g roll like on Valravn that would have lead into the helix. That’s the only change I would make but congrats to CW on this new addition. It’s also great that CF has come and finished the Frontier Canada area that was originally proposed when the park first opened.
