I can only do top 5, because after that, it is hard to rank.

1. Millennium Force

2. Maverick

3. California Screamin'

4. Space Mountain De La Terre A La Lune (RIP)

5. Raging Bull

Close to the top are Top Thrill Dragster, Viper at SFGAmerica, and Space Mountain at Disneyland.

Hello everybody. This is my first post here.

I don't have much experience in coasters and I still haven't ridden the major ones in the States.

From my limited experience in Europe, I can only say my top five

1. Expedition Ge Force (Holiday Park, DE)

2. Goliath (waliby world, NL)

3. Stealth (Thorpe Park, UK)

4. Oblivion (Alton Towers, UK)

5. Nemesis (Alton Towers, UK)

What I mostly love in coasters, are those non looping, no overhead restraints, big airtime, intamin mega coasters. According to this, which coasters would you suggest me riding in the U.S? I hear a lot about "X" and Superman Ride of Steel in SFNE. Are they this good? Actually, is there a coaster in the States that is better than Expedition Ge force?

Sorry for all these questions

I can only comment on X2, which is a one of a kind ride! I was unable to experience Ride of Steel but I'm sure it's a bada$$ coaster!! I also haven't been able to ride Ex G, but I can tell you Cedar Point has some amazing rides!! Also SF Great Adventure was Awesome! And SF Magic Mountainhas X2 Goliath Deja Vu, which are all on my top list! Hope this helps!!

This is my top 10:

1 - Expedition GeForce (Holiday Park)

2 - Tatsu (SFMM)

3 - Riddler's Revenge (SFMM)

4 - Katun (Mirabilandia)

5 - Goliath (SFMM)

6 - Black Mamba (Phantasialand)

7 - Batman The Ride (SFMM)

8 - Xcelerator (KBF)

9 - Stealth (PGA)

10 - Deja Vu (SFMM)

11 - Colossus (Heidepark) -> My highest ranked woodie

But i think this top 10 will be different after visiting some themeparks in the UK this fall.

I really think Nemesis (Alton Towers) and Stealth (Thorpe Park) can make it into this list.

But Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Blackpool have more great rollercoasters.

After the Emo/East Coast tours my top ten has been completely turned upside down:

1. Phoenix- this is what a coaster should be, a near death experience.

2. Boulder Dash- incredible, catch it before they trim it, the GCI trackwork did wonders.

3. El Toro- unbelievable drop and 3 extreme airtime spots but lacked being amazing the whole ride like the top 2.

4. Superman Ride Of Steel (Six Flags New England) - running a bit slow this time but still great.

5. Maverick - like a best of compilation of a whole lot of different coasters.

6. Top Thrill Dragster - such an extreme experience, even if it is short.

7. Behemoth - would have preferred extreme ejector air of the intamins but still a great ride.

8. Millennium Force - great ride experience but lacked airtime.

9. X - for all it's shortcomings, still an amazing ride.

10. Ravine Flyer II - like being on a go-kart to hell, out of control.

Worth a mention at 11. Vortex (Canada'a Wonderland) - an Arrow suspended that is completely out of control at night.

Important things I learned from this trip, most wood coasters (and some steel like Vortex) are ten times better at night than in the day, if I had ridden The Voyage at night it would probably be right up there.

For contrast my 2007 top ten: 1. SROS (SFNE), 2. El Toro, 3. Maverick, 4. Top Thrill Dragster, 5. Millennium Force, 6. X, 7. Nitro, 8. Phantoms Revenge, 9. Magnum, 10. Voyage
