FeelTheFORCE Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 4-5 hour wait just at 9:30, It has to be even more now since the park opened at 10. I'm not saying you are wrong or anything, but, how do you know this? Or are you just speculating?
coasterguy4 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I think they just shut the ride down because of rain. I haven't seen it run in 15 minutes.
FeelTheFORCE Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 ^ Yeah, and you can barely see Millie. EDIT: Spoke too soon.
Guest Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 (edited) Three injured in Cedar Point roller coaster accident 12:09 PM, May 27, 2007 Cedar Point officials say one of the coaster's trains was ending its ride, when it rolled into a stopped train at the loading station. Three people were taken to the first aid center. Two were treated and released. The third passenger was transported to an area hospital for an asthma condition. The Magnum was back open as of Sunday. In Dayton, Ohio, another three people were injured on a kids' ride at RiverBlast. Witnesses say the ride jolted forward as children were exiting, dragging some along in a circle until the ride was shut off. A 6-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl were taken by ambulance to Children's Medical Center of Dayton, where they were treated for cuts and abrasions. Another 1-year-old was brought to the hospital by a parent. http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.a ... ryid=68510 Not good news. Edited December 13, 2011 by larrygator
CP_RULES Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Wow, I must be REALLY bored to be sitting here watching the cams, but I caught Mavvie in the stengal!
asr Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I caught this cool shot of Maverick flying into it's brake run. Watching the webcams is really sad and pathetic, but fun EDIT: Wow, there are actually some people riding Snake River Falls EDIT 2: Cool shot of Maverick on the 95 degree drop See? Crazy people on a water ride!
snuggles Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 It probably hit another train at a low speed.. Typical arrow.
kraken613 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 It was jealous Maverick was getting all the attention!
asr Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Is it down again? I don't think so. I saw a train waiting at the bottom of the lift hill. EDIT: Definatly still running
californiascreamer1 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I hope sooner or later someone releases a pov. Looking around i cant find on but maybe that's because the park opened maverick today and it's the morning. The ride looks awesome and i hear the second launch is the best. I cant wait to ride it!
kraken613 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Has anyone seen what those water jets they were talking about?
californiascreamer1 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 It probably hit another train at a low speed.. Typical arrow. I agree, If it was big then it would have a lot more coverage than 4 sentences. I hope the people weren't hurt.
CoasterEricHP Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Just riding Magnum causes me non life threatening injuries. I wonder what happened tho.. the weather looks pretty crappy on the webcams. Eric
FeelTheFORCE Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 It might be closed for a while, good thing I rode it when I went May 17th and 18th.
asr Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Theres just smoke and lights in the tunnel apparantly. And the arch of water is the water effect they talked about.
BrownStreak Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 When I was working there in 1999 (not on that ride however) the E-Stop was hit and so the train at the start of the lift stopped however the train coming into the station blew right through the station and headed up the lift missing rearending the train on the lift by less than a foot.
IceDragon Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 it 'rolled' into the station. Doesn't sound like it was going fast, 15mph tops is my guess
spaminacan11 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I caught that coolest shot of Maverick that I have seen yet earlier. I got very lucky with it.
FeelTheFORCE Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Even though this incident was pretty small, I bet it will stay closed for at least a week, maybe more. They have to investigate and find out why it did this, and when they do, who knows what all they'll have to do to fix it, unless it was just human error.
rollercoasterdan Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Some more no maverick in photo shots... Hmm, something is wrong here... And a cool one with the train...
thomas2 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Thank god it's not in Japan or it would be closed for 3 years But seriously thank god noone got badly injured
