chikinpop
Here a photo... Not sure if this has already been shown. I searched and could not find anything. Its a photo... Credits go to Cedar Point's OnPoint Blog
JimmyBo
^So how are you suppose to see around that big piece of plywood when it's in the front of the train?
chikinpop
Apperently that large piece of plywood is for the pull through test. Obviously it will be removed when the pull through is done.
JimmyBo
I think the ride will be better if the plywood was kept in the front, who needs a view anyway?
jamesdillaman
^ The plywood represents the clearance needed for hands and other body parts that people could stick out of the train. I've seen the same technique used for pull throughs on other coasters. -James Dillaman
ebl
Yep, better to break plywood than to break arms... Eric
crazyrider06
i can't wait to ride maverick.. i love cedar point i've ridden every ride there.. so now once maverick is open im going to get that credit tooo....
JimmyBo
Does it count as a different credit if you ride it with the plywood in front? I know it's not possible to ride it with the plywood there but I was just wondering. Belson, help me out on this one, I'm curious.
rollermonkey
I don't even get the question, JimmyBo... I count coasters. Not relocations, retracks, repaints, rethemes or renames. The 'issue' with my counting stems from my counting powered and water coasters, along with the habit of counting twin tracked coasters twice once I get both sides. Yeah, I'll ride kiddy coasters, too, what of it? Once a certain website gets it's software updated, it should have 'enthusiast mode' and something of a 'credit whore mode'. At that point, I'll stop counting powered coasters or anything else not on the enthusiast mode. Also, if I ever reach 1000, by whatever means, I'll probably stop counting completely. Maverick. redunzelizer
The plywood shield finally does explain the need for the second set of LSMs. There obviously is a lot of air friction to overcome...
DATman
^With the shield on, they do not actually test the ride. Instead, they pull the car through every inch of track very slowly (It can take days sometimes) to make sure that none of the train can hit any scenery, and also to make sure every bit of track is perfect. TheArchfiend
That shield will really help keep you dry on this Aquatrax. The people in the back car will probably not see the benefit of that wooden watershield.

RedB
Looks like Cedar Point has started the pull through. Train is on the track above and to the right of the trucks.

Red, I kind of like that version of Inklitsch better. Except its spell Inglitsch, no k. But keep on! Maybe it would increase others (not just you datman) awareness and make them read between the lines. Ive never had a hard time interpreting what people from another country are trying to say unless they are really, really off. In most cases, its not hard. christianscoasters
Finally!!! A train! I don't know why, but it makes the ride seem bigger with a small train like that on the track. This will be so cool!
DATman
^^It's not that I couldn't read what he says, I honestly thought he was American. I have been wrong many times before, so I apologize once again.
DarkStitch626
The train isn't fully on track yet just 2 cars and a wood frame for a pull through test.
dandaman
That'd be a lot of wind resistance if a) they kept the testing board on, and b) they only used those two cars for a full unassisted circuit. Guess it's gotta get its rollback in somewhere.
PKI Jizzman
Awesome! Not only was it good to see the brass train out, but it is amazing to see that they are doing a pull through! I hope they have a podcast on it! Or some pics or a video would be amazing!
CP_RULES
Wouldnt it be stupid to pull through an entire train when you could just pull through one car? You would think they wanted the lightest load possible.
PKI Jizzman
You would want to make sure the whole train is functional and how it goes through on the track^
