Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

Wow, Cedar Point is really doing an outstanding job on this.

In the very last picture in the bottom right corner...

Can anyone tell what it says at the bottom on the side of the train? It's the same style as the big "MAVERICK" on the front, but it ends with "ART."

Could it be that each train is named? This one could be Black Bart, then maybe Jesse James, etc. I sent a response to Tony asking about this.

Originator of the idea that all threads should include KIDTUMS! Hi Barry!

That'd be a great idea.

...Maybe they'll have Kaiser Wilhelm!

I have a question for those who have ridden rides with Intamin OTSRs (Kingda Ka, Storm Runner, ect.) Do these restraints allow for good moments of airtime? It seems to me that Maverick looks to have lots of spots where a great amount of airtime will be felt. I'd hate to ruin a great ride with bad restraints that just staple you in so you can't feel any airtime. I really feel Maverick will be one of the world's best coasters if the restraints don't take away from the experience. Its a shame this ride couldn't have lapbars, but I guess it will cause less problems. Anybody have any thoughts?

^ That's a great question. But no, they don't take away any airtime moments. The restraints are basically a lap bar with skinny shoulder straps. They come down tight on you thighs but, your butt can come out of the seat just fine. I personally love those kinds of restraints because they are comfortable, they make you feel safe, and they allow for airtime.

I agree with yankees15, I haven't had any problems with airtime on Storm Runner. ...and as long as the ride is smooth, you won't even notice the OTSR much. I guess the only way it could restrict some airtime is if you're very tall with a very long torso.

Personally, I think the gold train is UGLY.

However, the silver, iron, and copper trains look fricken SWEET!

O yea, and I love these shots too.

Am I the only one who has problems opening pointbuzz? I'll try tomorrow on a different computer.

No, I do too. They're suffering from a bad case of the "Screamscape sydrome"--so many freakin popups that my popup-blocker consumes all function on the computer and blows up!

Thank God for TPR.

For the sake of on-topicness:

This ride looks like fun. I cant wait to ride it.

I only check it once a week, because it pretty much takes that long to reset everything for me.

Good thing I checked today, though... (Coasterbuzz does the same to me, too)
