SharkTums Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 ^^If this is true...Let's Review... Kid turns 48'' they can either ride Jaguar at Knotts or Maverick at Cedar Point...anything wrong with that!?!?!? Eh, if anything this just proves that Cedar Fair can buy Knotts, but it will never be the Cedar Point of the West Coast!
Ryan King Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 All yalls know this coaster looks bad ass! Dont lie! Im pumped for it!
dwerling Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Not sure if I'm missing something here but...what did they save the WWL building for again?
DarkStitch626 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 All yalls know this coaster looks bad ass! Dont lie! Im pumped for it! You wanna pound its smaller Ka like trains, the 95 degree drop or the air at 70mph..Don't you.. LOL! so do I!
Astat Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 ^^Judging from the rendered pics, it looks like the WWL station building is going to be the entrance to the queue.
disneyfan1313 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Wow! I am excited about this. IMHO anything that is pretty unique with more theming is a very good thing. It will be interesting to see if there are reliability issues with a mid-course boost.
DailyBugle_JL Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 wheres all the wingwalker and aquatrax peeps. I love intamin Um, not to point any fingers at Robb but does that thing under the tarp look like a aquatrax boat now.
robbalvey Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 wheres all the wingwalker and aquatrax peeps. I love intamin Um, not to point any fingers at Robb but does that thing under the tarp look like a aquatrax boat now. LMAO!!! Anyone who knows me should know by now to NEVER take anything I say seriously! --Robb "You should hear some of the stuff I tell the gaming mags about what we're working on!" Alvey
ECZenith Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 This is actually better than I expected... I always wanted CP to get a deeply themed ride.
DarkStitch626 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 LMAO!!! Anyone who knows me should know by now to NEVER take anything I say seriously! --Robb "You should hear some of the stuff I tell the gaming mags about what we're working on!" Alvey Jews in Spaceeeeee for Call of duty 3...LOL Sorry couldn't resist..
DailyBugle_JL Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 LMAO!!! Anyone who knows me should know by now to NEVER take anything I say seriously! --Robb "You should hear some of the stuff I tell the gaming mags about what we're working on!" Alvey ill remember that from now on. Speaking of games, if/when you guys get a spiderman 3 shirt can i get one. On Topic So will there be a CGI pov and animation tommorow sometime.
jobber73 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 It will be interesting to see if there are reliability issues with a mid-course boost. Why would there be issues? The only Intamin launch issues come from the hydraulic launches. As far as I can tell this uses LSM's all around.
darklingscribe Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 It'll be interesting to compare to Speed at Oakwood when I go on it (assuming that it'll be open next time I visit Cedar Point)
robbalvey Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 ^^ Oh, dude...you weren't around in 1996 when they tried to get S:TE with LSM's working were you? --Robb "That ride finally opened in 1997!" Alvey
DailyBugle_JL Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 It'll be interesting to compare to Speed at Oakwood when I go on it (assuming that it'll be open next time I visit Cedar Point) Once i seen the design i immediatly tought Maverick being the offspring of Speed Monster and Speed. Looks like dad rides like mom. I dont know which is which.
the sound Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 ^ Wow, people lived in 1996 ? Looks pretty cool. I think PBB should also get into themeing there rides. Cp and PBB are pretty similar, i think. The layout is quite interesting, and i thnk this may be a new favourite for many that visit Cedar Point. I mean, it has thrilling bits, it doesn't look that tall, steep drop, themeing. Maybe disney should get a ride like this. They are meant to be the family park, right?
MARK Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Hopefully the theming will be a little more detailed than what's in those impressions...what's the deal with those big metal slabs sticking up out of the ground??? And I'm wondering if anyone could pick out those 8 moments of airtime for me...
rosscoe Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I think it funny how the most of anything is the themeing, but still looks like a fun ride..
matteocrepaldi Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I think it looks really good and I can't wait to ride it but I was expecting something more unique.
Guy T. Koepp Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Intamin made my two favorite coasters in the US. I suspect they have a good knowledge of what makes for a thrilling ride. I'm on it next year!
the sound Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 ^^^ Dude, 3 Australian posted in a row!!! ^ Yeah, i sort of agree. I was expecting a new type of coaster, like a self controled mind coaster.
rosscoe Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I'm sure people owe other people money over the Aquatrax bets, but being that low to the ground should make an interesting ride..
brooke Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 and another aussie! yew! this looks pretty kool i love when the theming is good will eventually get to ceder point one day... maybe when i go on the international college program at disneyworld ill take time off after it
Jhcbiinoc Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I don't think this has been posted yet, but I just ran across it: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=249752 This is a video taken of the CGI video of Maverick. In my opinion-I'm really surprised; not at all what I expected. However, it should do well for Cedar Point and be a good addition to their collection.
