^I can't believe this thread has reached about 100 pages either.

I guess we all can be somewhat satisfied at the lineup for 07.

Dollywood, BGE, and CP, all appear to have winners on-hand. I wonder with all of recent transactions and situation(s) going on with the industry as a whole, I hope this is a trend of coasters isn't on the decline (within the US, anyway).

I read on pointbuzz somebody suggested that maybe it is a normal lift hill but on the way down the hill it is accelerated by a cable system much like TTD to get a higher speed. This may sound silly but is it possible? Don't criticize me about the idea I was just wondering

Ever since supports started arriving, my best guess for this coaster is a longer, better version of Rita (or possibly Speed Monster), a launch coaster that packs a lot of elements low to the ground. I say this because the supports that have gone up the last 2 days are all pretty low to the ground and the top connecting pieces are angled like they'll connect to track, not other support pieces, and all the other supports that have yet to be put up, none of them seem to be much over 30 feet long. I'm sure an AquaTrax could fit the same type of layout though, the train type is the biggest "if" in my opinion.

^I'm not sure that an aquatrax car could take some of the abrupt turns in the track that this ride appears to have. There appears to be a few pieces that make a 90 degree or mor twist in less than 20 feet of track. I'm not sure if a single car aquatrax train could take that kind of a turn. Personally, I don't think this ride is going to be an aquatrax.

Then again, this is all just speculation...

Yeah...I don't think it's going to be an Aquatrax either. Possibly something similar to the new coaster going into Port Aventura...but with the unreliability Cedar Point has experienced with Top Thrill Dragster, I don't see why they would put up with another problematic hydraulic launch. But, I think this definitely will be something no one has ever seen before, and I think that's Cedar Point's strategy right now: Let people see the track, formulate opinions, let people THINK it's going to be something we've all seen before, and then BAM!, something new and different.

I was just at Cedar Point this monday and tuesday, and I know it's an unreliable source, but the ride op on Mean Streak said that they are trying to open this new coaster before the end of this season, for their frightfest! I found this unlikely and quite funny!

lol. If so, they better get smackin, that would leave them with 3 months if they opened it like the last week of Oct.

2 months if they opened it for all of Oct.

Maybe the only record they're trying to set is fasted coaster (Full Scaled and what not. In other words, not a kiddie coaster) ever built.

I dont think that this will be ready for the public in two months, but on the other hand, they are starting WAY earlier then normal. Maybe they want to work the kinks out in the off season instead of the first month of the season. All we know right now is thats its an Intamin, its red, and it's a roller coaster.

Only observation I can make on the supports is that so far they look to keep the track low to the ground, kinda Rita-ish. It is an odd support color for a coaster with red tracks.

Was at the park for the past two days. The supports definitely seem to suggest a longer version of Rita, with what looks like many low-to-the-ground connecting pieces.

^ The CP fanboys that skew the golden ticket voting I'd imagine.

The same people that beleive that there are no good roller coasters outisde of Ohio.

It's not a Golden Ticket Award. It's a really small magazine that probably ranks the biggest. Coney Island's Cyclone is probably No. 1 on that list. I think the magazine is Theme Park Magazine, which I've never heard of, but I can't really read it in that picture.

^Correct. It's Theme Park Magazine. Having not heard of it either, I assumed it was a CP-biased group, especially to rate MS as anything above Top 100.
