After wandering around the construction zone yesterday and looking at the signs, it hit me: What if this thing has switchbacks?

 

"Back up, bronco..."

 

"We're goin' in a whole new direction!"

 

The weird track that looks like a water coaster may very well be, but a prototype Intamin water coaster (with theming?) isn't out of the question yet.

 

"Hold on to your spurs" might refer to the spurs of track needed to make a switchback.

 

"A change is a comin'" is probably self-explanatory. In any case, I think I'll hold on to my switchback assumption until August.

I never noticed the "back up bronco" sign. two and two together with the "new direction" makes me wonder if it will travel in reverse at least some point.

You hold an interesting point, but I think that "We're going in a whole new direction" refers to a new kind of roller coaster. Maybe a type that doesn't exist yet?

Or maybe they're just random marketing signs that have nothing to do with the type or ride.

Forgot one of the T&T blog entries: "The right path taken is not always the best." Still backs up my switchback theory.

Word on the street is...Track is on the actual construction site. Wont be long till it starts taking shape.

I still don't get why they're building this early.... Does anyone remember when Silver Bullet construction started? (Since it opened in December)

^^ Starting early is most likely due to the scope of the construction. The bigger the ride the earlier you need to start.

 

Plus Ohio winters can be brutal, so if you start earlier you won't run into as many weather related delays.

Due to some previous posts, I'm beginning to believe this coaster will travel in reverse as well as forward, because it explains "we're going in a whole new direction" and there is already transfer track sections on site.

^^ Because transfer track couldn't possibly be used for the station and train storage.

Tony and Tyler are the biggest teasers, even if they don't announce soon it should become obvious what it is this month considering the rate the construction is going at. I'm thinking a wingwalker but I guess we'll have to see, the point is always full of surprises. The CP & LE Railroad must be packed with enthusiasts trying to sneak a peek.

I've never counted the railroad as a credit, just the bloody thing that gets in between me and Millenium Force now and then. Never even been on it, if I go to CP next year, it will be a good for getting shots of Maverick or whatever it will be called.

^ Hence the j/k. Besides, it's powered, but I guess if you count powered coasters, you should technically count it, but anyway. It's good to see the PB updates. Construction seems to be going at a pretty nice clip. Hopefully they get most of it up before the mean Great Lakes winter rolls in.
