DanTheBooker Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 What's your favorite terrain coaster? Do you prefer wood or steel terrain coasters? Which park doesn't have one but you wish it did? Which park has one that doesn't really do much for you? What's the best example of a terrain coaster you can think of? I merged this into an existing thread. Shoot. Sorry! I did a search... Thanks!
Loefet Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 ^ My votes goes to: Eagle Fortress But Lisebergbanan and now Helix both looks awesome.
gerstlaueringvar Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Ask me in two years and my answer shall be given
rcjp Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Ask me in two years and my answer shall be given Helix is already a good option. (or will be)
megametal Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Steel -Mindbender at SFOG Wood - Jack Rabbit (Kennywood) or The Boss (SFSt.L) Gotta say, some people have an odd idea of what constitutes terrain!
ScreaminNewEngland Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Banshee is pretty impressive. But Boulder Dash prob takes the cake.
tarheel1231 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Wood Coaster in China: [EDIT]For those of you viewing TPR at school, imagine Boulder Dash on steroids on a mountain that's something around a mile tall.
Zem Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Would iRat count as a Terrain Coaster? It really does play into the terrain of the quarry wall quite well.
DanTheBooker Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Wood Coaster in China: [EDIT]For those of you viewing TPR at school, imagine Boulder Dash on steroids on a mountain that's something around a mile tall. Yeah, I forget about this coaster. It's amazing!
firewalk13 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I have to say, while not the best, the Bat makes great use of the terrain. The bottom of the first drop is in the middle of a nice S shape. Really a good, if short, ride. The new paint job well look awesome (even better) when the foliage fills out.
dragsterfan420 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I'd say Wood: 1. The Beast 2. Raven Steel: 1. Big Bad Wolf 2. Adventure Express
DaMarkSta Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Wood: The Beast at KI Thunderbolt at Kennywood Steel: Banshee at KI (I know its new but that drop into the ravine is incredible, along with the second half of the ride) Loch Ness Monster at BGW
thrillseeker4552 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I haven't been on a true terrain coaster, but Helix looks really good!
gerstlaueringvar Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Outlaw Run! Terrain made the ride so much better.
loop-de-loop Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Vortex at CW interacts with all types of terrain, whether it be diving off a mountain, flying through trees or almost skimming the water. And tonight, you get the bonus snow-covered mountain.
GwaziBSRider1 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Phantom's Revenge - hands down. At night, it's incredible. Going down that second drop into pitch black darkness as you feel the temperature drop is nothing short of amazing.
