  1. On the contrary it's best to keep people as still as possible. The second people start trying to move around with a VR headset, the motion sickness becomes much worse. You completely lose perspective of where you body resides within 3D space which really plays with your senses in a way the brain isn't used to. Adding outside motion to the VR motion (even if the two are synced up) will lead to very uncomfortable situations for many riders. Everyone has different reactions to VR and there is generally a bit of a curve until you get used to it and the nausea isn't as big of a deal. I can't imagine this will be a very good first experience of VR for many riders and expect it to be fairly uncomfortable for a lot of people.
  2. This might be one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. As somebody who has first hand given VR demos and seen many people get motion sick, I can't imagine this being anything short of a puke fest. VR is somewhat naturally disorientating and nauseating even when sitting still. Adding uncontrolled motion to the mix just seems like a really bad idea and I expect severe motion sickness to be extremely common.

  4. False. The person below me loves Wacky Worms.
  5. Well this showed up in my subscription box today: How far could you get into Super Mario Bros. 3 on a coaster?
  6. Canyon Adventure @ Beijing World Park
  7. I wonder if Warwick Davis will be standing at the entrace to greet you
  8. Spiral Coaster @nAl-Sha'ab Leisure Park
  9. Every update continues to amaze me. I've been following this since last year and can't wait to see the finished section!
  10. Exactly. Plus who cares if the final released product isn't amazing. With the amount of modding support that has been promised the fans will almost assuredly turn it into a completely different beast within a couple months. I just hope RCT4 isn't just a dumb facebook game but the future for the series looks quite grim.
  11. Would iRat count as a Terrain Coaster? It really does play into the terrain of the quarry wall quite well.
  12. Not sure if this counts, but the last thing I can think of was last summer at SplashTown in Houston when I got hit by a bikini top that someone had apparently lost on the slide the ride before. It was strange. When did you last ride a Wacky Worm?
  13. YYYYeeeeeeeeeeahhhhaaa !! Finaly, the best idéa, so far ! Wish it would come true.... (hmmmm). I've been prophesizing this for some time now in the holy text that is TPR chat.
  14. Is it getting a new paint job or are the colors in the advertisement just off?
  15. Robb and the park have not released any details on the type of attraction it is. That is merely speculation.
  16. They aren't entirely wrong. A cheap mobile game like this is much easier for public consumptuion on a mass market scale. Although this probably won't make as much as a full title, the ratio of time and cost in production to monetary return is vastly greater.
  17. So not only did the roll back guard become misaligned but the train also became detatched from the chain? That's quite strange.
  18. I just wish Atari realized they could make more money and attract more people by releasing a mobile version of RCT1 or RCT2 on mobile platforms. Many classic old games have been released on mobile platforms and have done extremely well. Even if it's a poor emulation of the original code it would be more enjoyable than this. Many more complicated games in even worse formats have been ported so that shouldn't be trouble for Atari. They could easily outsource it as well and have a strong release about 6 months later with minimal effort on their part. It's sad they don't realize the potential of core titles in this franchise as another game could do extremely well especially with people who played the originals.
  19. They should've just taken Ferrari World's approach and gotten Intamin to build it. Sad to see the coaster go but glad they aren't wasting any more money on it. Hopefully they'll bring the track back to its former glory.
  20. Well they won't be hosting the F1 Grand Prix of Germany this year as they switch of yearly between the Nürburgring and the Hockenheimring. Hopefully it will be unistalled by next season and it's great to see the track under new ownership!
  21. For the most part RCT3 is a superior game but there are still a lot of us who don't have a computer that is strong enough to play the game on good quality settings. Sure I can build a small park on my computer in RCT3 with only a few issues but why would I want to when I can build a huge park in RCT or RCT2 without all the graphic issues and lag time that I would have to deal with in RCT3.? Really? I've found that RCT3 isn't very intensive at all on computers. I've run it on plenty of low end machines easily. If you have any issues, simply turning down the graphics settings should fix them. Any machine that is newer than the game itself really shouldn't have trouble with it as it is now almost a decade old title. I used to run it just fine with average graphical settings on a low end Dell I got in early 2005. Back on topic, I have very little hope that the new version will be very good at all but I'm not surprised at all that Atari took this approach. Almost every company out there who is involved with gaming or media in general produces these kinds of apps since they are quick to make and can help support larger projects. I wouldn't care if it was RCTM but the 4 is what seems to insult people and reasonably so. It would be better if they just rebranded the title as most fans of the franchise probably won't bother playing this bog standard mobile game.
  22. Can't wait to see all the micro-transactions! You want to lay down another peice of track? Sure you can! But it will take 12 hours unless you pay us 99 cents!
  23. Did this not stand out to anyone else? (at the 13 second mark) I know what no limits looks like and it's a heck of a lot better than this crap.
