  1. Burgers by far.
  2. Oki Doki @ Bobbejaanland
  3. Well I guess both involve high speeds, fast turns, and lots of g-forces.
  4. Peta not Pita. P'eh'ta vs P'ee'ta. I think it sounds fine as it makes sense sequencially.
  5. Zaturn @ Space World
  6. It's interesting that you mentioned Dario's wreck as he is one of my two favorite Indy drivers (Scott Dixon being the other). I happened to be at the Houston race on the day of the accident and was in the closest grand stands. You can even see me in the video coverage of the wreck. Here are some pics I took (you can even see the section of fencing that landed in the crowd I was in): As for the US Grand Prix, it was a nice race. Vettel won his 8th race in a row setting a new record as expected. I was glad to see Grosjean get 2nd although I'm upset that Raikkonen wasn't racing. Massa was having problems throughout the weekend and Ferrari had an overall disappointing race. Sutil also wrecked in the first lap which brought out the safety car. There was a good amount of passing and I thoroughly enjoyed the race weekend. I hope to have some pictures up tomorrow from my time at the track as well as Fan Fest in downtown Austin.
  7. Nice way to get started on an amusement park. Fairly new and unused rides at a discount. And they do appear to have a minetrain in the concept art as well.
  8. Tony Hawk
  9. Auto Racing has had a noticable impact on coasters lately with rides like Ring Racer at the Nurburgring, Intimidator 305 at KD, and Formula Rossa at Ferrari World. Personally, I am a big follower of Formula One and IndyCar and I will be leaving today to attend my first ever F1 Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. I have also in the past attended many IndyCar races (now twice a year including the Texas Motor Speedway and the Houston Circuit) and a couple NASCAR races, although I'm not a big fan of oval racing. This thread is for discussion about anything related to racing and about any type of racing. There are other threads devoted to the major sports so I felt this was fitting. Hopefully I'm not the only one here who appreciates this type of sport. Circuit of the Americas:
  10. We need some sort of hint. Try not to post pictures of a coaster with a million exact copies unless there is something major that stands out about it.
  11. You sure? I couldn't find it under any of the coasters in Thailand but maybe I was just being derp.
  12. I highly doubt this project will be completed by 2015. I'm still skeptical of these sorts of projects although it seems like they may be contracting out RMC to design the wooden coaster. I feel like houston would really benifit from a smaller park like Funspot in orlando rather than a giant amusement park with Fiesta Texas and Over Texas not being a horribly long distance away.

  14. Its been a few days, so can we get a hint?

  17. I think it'd be cool to see on of the two Grand Prix tracks here in the US get an attraction like this. I'll be going to the US Grand Prix is a couple weeks and am super excited. This ride makes sense for the Nurburgring as it only hosts an F1 race every other year and so they have been attempting different ways of attracting tourists on the off years.
  18. I agree. I'm sure he could've gotten permission from Seaside Hights to do it as a publicity stunt or something.
  19. After EQA I've been doubtful of these various proposed plans for parks in Houston. Hopefully though this actually becomes a reality.
  20. String Quartet in G major, Op.76, No.1 composed by Haydn and performed by the Takács Quartet. One of my favorites.
  21. I have several friends in Italy that would be interested tio hear about this. Hopefully Zamperla can get the needed approvals.
  22. As said before, this ride is designed for the launch. It makes more sense when you consider that this is not at an amusement park and is just an attraction for the racetrack. The coaster is interesting but the real draw to the Nurburgring is the racing, although the German Grand Prix will be held at the Hockenheimring this year as it alternates yearly between these two tracks. This is just an attraction and is not intended to be the main focus of the complex. If the US Grand Prix track had a coaster I probably wouldn't bother riding it this month while I'm there for the F1 race.
  23. I still wonder why they didn't just get another contractor to design the launch mechanism.
  24. According to RCDB it's 99.4 mph which now puts it at the 6th fastest coaster. Far from the original idea of having it be the worlds fastest. Which is is... 105 mph or 99.4 mph? I'd trust RCDB but if it is 105 then that would put it at the 5th fastest coaster then.
