robbalvey Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I´ve heard that the layout of this coaster has changed a little bit.Is that rumor right? Dunno. I know the GCI guys read the forum and if they are able to say one way or the other, I'm sure they will. --Robb
dr.gumbo Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Wow! There some serious headchoppers! England so needs one of these
hyyyper Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I´ve heard that the layout of this coaster has changed a little bit.Is that rumor right? it is right, from the original layout those things have changed: 1. The crossover under the lifthill have been replace in the direction of the station (north) and so the crossover is no longer under but next to the lifthill. Under the lifthill the tracks run parallel 2. The twisty ending after the helix has been replaced with something very straight, possibly slow-down brakes
Airtime&Gravity Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 This coaster is starting to look really nice, and could be GCI's best coaster. The hills should have good airtime, and the turns will hopefully be taken at high speeds. Toverland is really adding a great ride collection, but Troy appears to be different from their other more family friendly rides.
boy_who_luvs_coasters Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Looks like a great coaster. And funn. -SHawn
mad_dog_BB Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 I´ve heard that the layout of this coaster has changed a little bit.Is that rumor right? Dunno. I know the GCI guys read the forum and if they are able to say one way or the other, I'm sure they will. --Robb Yes, the ride is *slightly* different toward the end. I wasn't so happy with the previous ending, so I changed the double-down into an S-curve segment (like the one on Thunderbird at PowerPark), a hard right-hand turn with some good laterals, and a quick reversal into an undulating left-hand helix. The brake run is now parallel to the lift instead of crossing through it. We'll post New layout with cooler finale!
robbalvey Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 ^ Hey Jeff! Thanks for clearing that up. Always nice to get the answer straight from the horses mouth. --Robb "Not that I'm implying that you're a horse or anything..." Alvey
Nrthwnd Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Mmmmmm. Looking good there. And then some, lol. Looks like it will be nice and 'broken in,' when the TPR Scandi Tour winds it's way to the park in.... 2008?
turbolaaf Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 They got to the highest point a few minutes ago: www.troytoverland.nl and then check webcam Its a good hight and there is already a new construction tour for the fans on 14e april. That its a bit changed makes it more fun and suprising for us to follow Looking forward to the construction of the trains.
CP_RULES Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Wow, those head choppers look amazing. They're so close they rival Mamba's, which are incredible. This ride is looking cooler by the second, keep those updates coming.
Ghost Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 So close to my home.... a good hour drive... with the coaster already looking that good I have to make sure to get there as soon as it opens....
hyyyper Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 After today i think Troy is a bit over the top and it'll be only going downhill from now... At this is for those who have too much time on their hands http://five.flash-gear.com/npuz/puz.php?c=v&id=1946061&k=48404141
arrowfanman Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Wow! I didn't realize how tall this was gonna be! Very impressive! -Jahan
CP_RULES Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Thanks for the puzzle, it wasted about 5-10 minutes for me.
Coaster Joe Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Wow, those head choppers look amazing. They're so close they rival Mamba's, which are incredible. Did you realize that Mamba's helix chopper supports were of Jeff's doing back as an intern at Morgan?
SharkTums Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 ^Ha! That makes sense! (Only good part of that ride!)
verticalzero Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 What a great Birthday ( 30th Mar) pressie to have to view the lovely coaster. It's coming on a real treat
Coaster Joe Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Should be an interesting day to check the webcam as there are a bunch of new drop bents to be added.... http://www.troytoverland.nl/nl/webcam.php
turbolaaf Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 Indeed they are going really fast at the moment and new legs are already under construction. Next week there is a new construction tour so more pictures from onsite should be added then. With a bit of luck the drop should be done by then so i'm looking forward to that since i'm also invited. Troy also will get a piece of theming in front and next to it what will be displayed to us next weekend. And GCII also needs to construct the trains soon since its only a few months away now before it opens.
hyyyper Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 It's friday again and time for another update, They guys have started the first drop, and although they have only put up several legs, the drop is already quite steep and banking is also around 45 degrees or so. The pic's:
Coaster Joe Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 All the bents for the drop have been placed and the crew is continuing onto the flare turn before the crossover.
Wishmaster Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I drove by yesterday at about 6:30 PM. The first drop looks awesome!
hyyyper Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 And the drop is done! and the 70deg turn is also allmost done
coasterchi Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Here are some more! And now to the theming part: I just can't believe that like all of this in about a 10 minute drive!!!
