Port Aventura are getting an Intamin launched coaster for the 2007 season.

Translation by Google:

The new roller coaster will reach 135 kilometers per hour in just 3.5 seconds and the occupants will go with my feet dangling near the ground

A Formula 1 car reaches 100 mph in four seconds. The new attraction at Port Aventura , which will cost six million euros, will move to 135 kilometers per hour in just 3.5 seconds. This roller coaster will be the star of the park from the 2007 season , when it is released . It will be located in the subject area of the Mediterranean and always start and advance horizontally, at ground level or flush with water at a breakneck speed.

Those who have not dared to Hurakan Condor (which drops to 115 kilometers an hour) or the Dragon Khan ( with peaks of 110 kilometers per hour), it will be difficult. The new roller coaster , which still has no name , is intended for a young audience and for risk lovers , and especially speed. In the specialized jargon is rated attractions such as the Accelerator because their main and most attractive feature is its acceleration. It will go from 0-135 km / h in under four seconds and without recourse to outstanding . Nor have loops ( rolled over ). The output of the attraction will be through a tunnel then go outdoors , which will be visible to park visitors .

The new commitment of Port Aventura is a roller coaster similar to the one at Alton Towers , England. However, in this appeal the occupants are seated in a sort of little train . In Port Aventura has designed a sort of airplane fuselage that will run over a rail, but the seats hang from the wings in the style of the Condor Hurakan . The occupants traveling at full speed and a few centimeters of soil and water , because in a moment of your tour will cross the lake attraction of the Mediterranean , which welcomes all visitors to the park.

Port Aventura Sources say the speed is added to another emotion : to see how , with its winding route , the roller coaster elusive objects in its path . Each trip will last 55 seconds and every hour may increase the attraction to 1,500 people , nearly double the Hurakan Condor, which has capacity for 850 people per hour.

This week the park board approved the project but there are some fringe to define : the attraction will be located in the area of the Mediterranean , where now there are only two attractions : the Estació del Nord (the train ) and the Port of Drassana and also a question of space, since the new roller coaster will be great , but has not yet determined the exact point of departure. Also to be decided on themes of attraction and if he enters a show to entertain the waiting.

Building the new roller coaster will cost one and a half of work, although the structure and the material prepared outside the park and the work will only be visible during the assembly of the attraction. The investment that will star in Port Aventura from the 2007-2008 season, when the park meet its twelfth anniversary , than six million euros. Its launch will coincide with the construction of residential and hotel to Port Aventura developed by the park. "

It's also been said to be like Rita: Queen of Speed at Alton Towers. Basically it means non-looping. Very fast aswell and swooping turns close to the ground and over water.

Aha, that there sounds like the key point.

I've got a feeling this'll be the first installation of the Intamin "Wing Walker" concept.

I really hope so, anyway. I've been waiting for someone to put up (I refuse to use 'erect') one of these for years!

Two things...

TPR will now definitely be going to Spain in 2007!!!!!

I have always stressed it, but this is just another confirmation of the "Intamin always does bulk deals" with parks. So many parks seem to get almost a "package" deal with Intamin over a 5 year span. This is awesome!

With the help of Babelfish:

Port Adventure will have a hunting that will go to 135 km/h the new hunting will reach 135 kilometers per hour in only 3.5 second and the occupants will go with the feet hanging next to the ground SARA SANS - 14/12/2005 PORT VENTURE A car of formula 1 reaches the 100 kilometers per hour in four seconds. Here, I've harnessed the power of the awesome MSpaint to show what design I think this may be.

The REAL pictures I saw of the concept had the train themed to a Stealth Bomber with black all over. Since black is pretty much useless for clarity, I've used weird Crayola colours.

and YES, the 'real' version has three seat wide "wings". I hate three seaters too, but eh, still looks like an awesome concept.

^^^ Nope, very different thing.

The Wing Walker was designed years ago whereas the Ball Coaster is a new thing.

I'm also fairly certain it was never meant to be a launched coaster, but I guess that's the only way they could sell it in the end. By combining it with their newer innovations like launches...

This was around the time that they invented their Jet Ski style coaster (That water coaster thing) and their version of the Wild Mouse coaster (Still to make a sale).

I never knew new concepts were so hard to sell :?

Either way, I'm pretty sure from the description that this is what they mean. Of course, the description WAS foreign, so I'm prepared to be proved wrong

More info in spanish:

■ UMWEBSITE.COM

I think it's a common misconception that Intamins are smooth. I've been on a bunch that rattled like crazy. I've had one or two painful head-banging rides on Volcano (yep, Volcano), Colossus at Thorpe was not really smooth, even opening year. The Supermen hypercoasters occassionally shake. Many people complain that StormRunner hurts their necks. Kingda Ka in the back of the train, people have said it shakes so much, it feel's like it's going to bust apart. Etc.

Not bashing Intamin here, I LOVE Intamin. But, I think some people have the wrong idea regarding how smooth all Intamins are. Also, I think a lot of the rougher Intamins are that way due to lack of or improper maintenance. With my bad Volcano rides, I suspect it was a fluke or something -- like I was near a bad wheel or whatever.

PS. Does anyone else besides me like the term "Rocket Coaster" more than "Accelerator"? [/end nerd]
