DorneyKid14 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 If thats what floats your boat. . . I thought this was the Cedar Point thread there for a second. On a more serious note, does anyone know how tall the hulks cobra roll is?
DoinItForTheFame Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 On a more serious note, does anyone know how tall the hulks cobra roll is? 120ft?
rcrider4 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 On a more serious note, does anyone know how tall the hulks cobra roll is? 120ft? The ride is only 110 ft tall at its tallest point, which I'm not sure if it is the zero g roll or the cobra roll. Either way, between 100-110ft.
SFOGdude25 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I think I read somewhere that the cobra roll is 108 feet tall. Don't quote me on that though.
DorneyKid14 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks guys. The cobra roll seems so much bigger than what it is.
B&MBoy1982 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 While the steel looks different and is updated to today's specifications, rail radius is likely the exact same as before. I.E. turns, loops, etc. If you ride it when it reopens, you are going to travel the exact path that you traveled a year ago. I don't even think they replaced lift or station track, just main ride track.
RollerManic Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 A friend of mine happens to be at the park today and she is sending pictures. Here is one: Notice the progress on repainting the tunnel. The difference is very distinguishable.
eddytheviper Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 MakoMadness has just posted a few pictures on Facebook. The Hulk is back and trackwork is finished!!!
Themonerd Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 MakoMadness has just posted a few pictures on Facebook. The Hulk is back and trackwork is finished!!! The transition is VERY different.
Themonerd Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 ^ There isn't any difference at all. That proves it. I'm going blind.
KBrylczyk Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 ^ Nah, the first photo was just taken as a panorama which kinda gives a fisheye effect. You're good.
PVA62 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Is it just me or was the green brighter before? Probably just the time of day and light are different.
eddytheviper Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Looks like someones added saturation to that old photo, the sky's blue looks unnatural and the green is a bit unusual. I took some photos of the hulk back in Feb (Which I forgot to post so are a bit out of date now) but, it's more or less the same color as before.

Brassinthegrass Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Has there been any work done on the Hulk MCBR?
B&MBoy1982 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Honestly, I think I am more excited about this than Dollywood or Cedar Point.
KBrylczyk Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Honestly, I think I am more excited about this than Dollywood or Cedar Point. Are you referring to Hulk or Kong? Either one would make you certifiably insane, of course. Hulk is just reopening as the same ride and Kong is an extended version of a six year old ride. Lightning Rod is, IMHO, easily the winner here. Valravn, though? Yeah, Uni's definitely the winner.
StealthFan Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Is it just me or was the green brighter before? Also don't forget the fact that the old track would have been bleached by the sun over time where as the new track is all fresh and shiny.
B&MBoy1982 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Honestly, I think I am more excited about this than Dollywood or Cedar Point. I was indeed talking about Hulk. Why would that make me certifiably insane? Hulk is a great classic B&M, and I am excited to see the new improvements throughout the whole experience. What is insane is the constant complaining because a ride has been delayed from opening, or complaining about the name of a roller coaster. See my post in the Cedar Point thread. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=28853&start=29670
Jew Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Hulk not sucking anymore from roughness would definitely be awesome. If it can go back to being an old school B&M but without the B&M rattle, that is definitely exciting.
SixFlagsAstroworld Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Check out Face Off on the SyFy channel now! They are talking about Skull Island!
Picto81 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I was gutted to miss out on riding Hulk when I visited for my Honeymoon in November last year. It was horrible walking underneath its trackless shuttle knowing I wouldn't get to ride. Hopefully one day I can afford to return and give the new and improved Hulk a go. On a different note, one coaster I was really disappointed with was Rip Ride Rocket at Universal. This is by far the most uncomfortable coaster I have ever ridden, very rough and I felt sick after every ride. Did I catch it at a bad time?
