fatdaddy
Well, it looks the same at every Chinese restaurant. Ha! But, I am not a fan of Panda express and I liked this. Flavor was much better, of course this was with the park management present, hopefully the quality is the same when they open to the public. djmadmanray
The trains look great! Really curious about how the goggles are going to work with the load and unload process, hope it doesn't slow things down too much.

thrillseeker4552
Did sf not have the idea of putting a string attached to the seat in front of you in case the vr headset falls off. Â From what I've read, the head set will be very secure when riding. The issue is when teenagers deliberately take it off during the ride for whatever reason and drop it or throw it off. Â If the head seat were to be attached to the seat in front of you, it would solve that problem, but then that seat must be a "VR seat", leading to that assigned seat issue people were mentioning earlier. DoubleDown
Well, it looks the same at every Chinese restaurant. Ha! But, I am not a fan of Panda express and I liked this. Flavor was much better... Â What? If you like chinese food, how can you not like Panda Express? I don't know how it was inside the the park, but compared to other similar independent Chinese food places outside the park, under the "$10 for a plate of food" price range, Panda is simply one of the best. They cook it fresh out in the open, right in front of you! They use quality meat and veggies with unique flavors, their noodles are nice and light and thin. Flavor was much better? Panda is like the king of flavor when it comes to Chinese food! Those other places have the food just sitting out under a heat lamp all day. Then you bite into a piece of chicken or meat and it's either chewy or gross. Â And this places food definitely looks different from Panda, first sign is those thicker gross soggy orange chow mein noodles, which is a staple across cheap-o chinese foid places across the nation. Whenever I see those, is a reason to walk away backwards, and get the hell outta there. The entres look a bit different as well, and while I'm sure it was good at the event, I wonder if it will stay that way after being open for 6 months. Superbatboy
I love Panda! Their orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, teriyaki chicken beast, and beijing beef are to die for. But let's keep it real, Panda is every bit as fast food as McD or Taco Bell. I'll give Panda props for having fresh veggies, but I think most of their meat is pre-packaged from a manufacturer. cfc
Panda Express is one of those places that I'm OK with, even though it's not amazing Chinese food; that being said, the new Chinese offerings at SFMM look pretty good. As for Revolution, it's great to see the ride looking "fresh" again, and I hope the new trains make it "good" again.

XII
I'm a big fan of Panda Express, but I don't care at all about them leaving SFMM. The SFMM Panda Express had a limited menu and several items were unavailable at the SFMM one. Plus, there's plenty of Panda Expresses nearby. It's still there if you want to eat there, it's just not inside SFMM. Â Love the way New Revolution is turning out and I'm looking foreword to riding it when it opens up. rosscoe
In the six or seven times Ive been to MM i don't think Ive ever eaten in the park, and two of those trips where from opening to closing in the middle of summer! Â First off, you're making statements about food you haven't eaten, credibility gone. Second, Panda express is the most generic chain mall quality "Chinese" food there is. Bottom line, I eat at Chinese restaurants that are owned and run by...CHINESE PEOPLE!!! Authentic Chinese is very far from mall food. The team that worked on creating these dishes worked very hard to make classic dishes with their own touch. Good food, will be extremely popular. A CHINESE GUY NAMED ANDREW CHERNG!!! *sound Price is Right losing horn* Â Credibility, gone! Â Nobodies comparing it to authentic Chinese food, I referred to the "$10 a plate" style Americanized version we see at strip malls and in food courts. Speaking of which, is there any other chain mall chinese food restaurants? No. And it's because most of them are independently owned and the food is pretty crappy. As far as consistency and quality, Panda ranks up there among the best. And the rest of the country agrees, as they've opened over 1,700 locations in the US and are the biggest Chinese food restaurant chain in America. Â NO I DO NOT WORK FOR PANDA EXPRESS LOL Â We will see how "extremely popular" this Chop Six joint place will be! Â Oh, and as for Revolution, does anyone think the headrests are a little tall and odd looking? Probably the only thing that bugs me about these new trains. BTW I loved the coaster porn pics of under the revolution train, and getting up close and personal with those bogie and restraint locking pics! Sexy! thrillseeker4552
I've never been a big fan of Panda Express; with that being said, I've never really liked Chinese food in general. ytterbiumanalyst
On behalf of Springfield, Missouri, I sincerely apologize for cashew chicken, and its effect on changing Americans' perception of Chinese food into fried chicken over rice. Â We got a Panda Express in town a couple of years ago, and having grown up with approximately 120 cashew chicken places per square mile, I thought it a more consistent quality than some of the other places here, but as for taste, really just as terrible. It's badly prepared food disguised by adding sauces loaded with sugar and salt. I've no doubt that Six Flags could do just as well without the Panda Express label. I know people who rave about Panda Express, and I find it the same as people who rave about Burger King. Good for you for finding something you like, but it doesn't mean it's actually any good. Â There are so many Chinese and Asian food chains it's ridiculous! Authentic Chinese food from...ANDREW?!!? Ha! His names not even authentic! 1700 locations for billions of people, wow, there are probably that many Chinese restaurants in LA county alone. Panda express is SO good that it has to compete with 4 other Asian restaurants in the same food court at the local mall, wow imagine that people eating at other Chinese restaurants when Panda Express is right in front of them. Maybe they like the taste of the other places better. Bottom line, Panda Express is...GONE...IT WON'T BE BACK! Probably haven't been there in a decade. Â From visiting several different states around the globe, the standards of quality fast food grub are no doubt much different than out here in Southern California. Nobody was claiming it's the best Chinese food place ever made in the entire world/universe/galaxy, but atleast when I've gone it's clean, it doesn't stink, the food is freshly made, consistently quality, and very good for less than ten bucks. linearinduction
Perhaps someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the only thing that appears to be entirely new are the bodies of the seats. The chassis, wheel housings, lap bars, and front fiberglass panels don't appear to be new, just repainted. I can see remanufacturing of the chassis, wheel housings, etc., but that doesn't make them entirely new either.
MagicMountainMan
Yeah that's been my understanding all along was that they were just using the old chassis for the ride. That was confirmed when I saw all of the parts getting painted a fresh coat of white a few weeks ago. Supposedly that gets them around the whole "amount of cycles" you have to do before opening the ride, as in they can do a lot less, but I'm not exactly sure what the procedure is anyway... Someone who has opened a new coaster could tell you more, whoever that may be.

yeah, looking through all pictures all over of the train, the chassis sure didn't look new, imo. it just looks decently refurbished with new replaceable parts. i'm around a lot of custom auto stuff and knowing guys who build car frames and everything steel and aluminum, they just didn't look new to me.
