JG-77 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I’m loving that funky support structure on the lift hill/drop
theredskull84 Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 This thing just continues to look more and more ridiculous, in the best way possible.
rcjp Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Looks amazing I'm curious about the lift system they'll be using on this one as I don't see the gap the track usually has to make room for the catch car/cable. At least it doesn't go as far down the drop as usual

ThemeParkJunkie51290 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Look. At. That. Drop. That drop just came me the biggest smile ever!!!

At least it doesn't go as far down the drop as usual It's a chain lift! Wow that's certainly unexpected! Nothing wrong with it but I didn't imagine Intamin using a chain on a ride of this size at all. I wonder if there are any particular reasons for this.
_koppen Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I wonder if there are any particular reasons for this. Reliability, no doubt.
cal1br3tto Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 It's a chain lift! Congratulations on the beautiful new chain lift! Do they always come shipped like that? Awesome picture.
A.J. Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I wonder if there are any particular reasons for this. Reliability, no doubt. Obviously, it's so that the Intamin Cable can't claim another victim.
ZeroGravity55 Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I'm not sure if they could do this with a cable lift, but the chain lift allows them to do a varied speed hill lift, which allows them to dispatch a train before it clears the first block. B&M did this on Fury in place of a MCBR.
thrillseeker4552 Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 ^They can. Millennium Force's lift usually picks up speed about half way up once the train before it clears the block. But since most of these Intamin coasters with cable lifts have rolling blocks when trains enter the station, the lift speed doesn't vary much since there is plenty of time left over. Not sure why Intamin/Energylandia opted for a chain lift for this ride, but I imagine it will be quiet and smooth like a cable lift hill (like on the Superman hyper coasters).
JordyC Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Hyperion's track has been completed! [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew]
theredskull84 Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 ^^This entire coaster looks incredible, but that first airtime hill....my God.
DarienPoint Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 I LIVE for the new Intamins. This coaster is gonna be a Golden Ticket contender, I know it.
JG-77 Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 ^ Please correct me if something I say is wrong, but isn’t the Golden Ticket awards mostly a popularity contest? If so, then I would get to excited for Hyperion’s Golden Ticket, since I doubt enough enthusiasts are traveling to southern Poland to give it a good chance of placing well. The TPR poll, on the other hand, I can easily see this being a contender if enough people ride. Most enthusiasts have pretty much accepted that the Golden Tickets are a pretty poor indicator of how good a ride is. Regardless, I’m ridiculously hyped for this ride, even though it will probably be years and years before I get a chance to ride it. Can’t wait for testing!!!
Ed Farmer Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 My soul will be ready for this in 2019. Are there trains on site? I know we got renderings, but curious as to how the final design turns out.
MrSum1_55 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Do we have an estimated opening date yet? Is there a good chance this thing will be open in late August? If it does, I'll be in the Krakow area. And I will be posting the trip report!
Jelenp Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Quick update: Trains have arrived on site. Source: https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?s=8738a73c3c4ab29ed62bea19cd8aae42&p=149302053&postcount=13856
boldikus Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 The lift supports are really interesting, I hadn't really noticed them before. I'm so stoked for a POV or some testing footage of this monster. Can a park in the U.S. please build a giant Intamin again?
michaellynn4 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 We need a solid six months of people stopping bitching about Skyrush. If we can get through that without one "ThighCrush" quip, the Intamin Fairy will come back to us.
Samuel Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 I can't wait for the test runs to begin! I don't think there are too many coasters that give me trepidation, but hanging out on the staircases of steep, huge lift hills? No way, Jose. The one guy in the video above ^ is just smoking on the steps at about 200 feet in the air as if he's not 200 feet in the air. Gulp.
cal1br3tto Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 ^You're not alone. That preview image alone is enough to make me feel nervous.
