Black Hole (RIP) at Alton Towers. As if being scared of them wasn't enough, my first proper coaster just had to be in the dark.

My first coaster was The Ultimate in lightwater valley I was 18ish maybe 19 I hated it and did not go on another coaster until 4 years ago, now I am hooked.

27 now (3/29/80) ... My first real coaster may have been Matterhorn- Tomorrowland side, or BTMRR. I can't remember which I hit first. I was 10. I admit I got started a little late but by 11 I was hooked and would go on anything.

Hey! I used to live in Centerville and remember the adds for Americana and Fantasy Farm very well. Was looking at what remains of those parks just a couple days ago on the net. Also noticed Malibu Grand Prix is not around Dayton Mall any more. Still have my Mini-Virage Racing License from 1987. Trippy!!!

If I remember correctly, I think Matterhorn might be the first coaster to have steel track.

My first credit, was the first coaster with steel track... that seems kind of special!

Add the word "tubular" in front of "steel track" and you're right!

 

 

My first coaster was 1972. Dexter Frebish's Electric Roller Ride (later renamed Excalibur) at Astroworld (later renamed Astroworld:A Member of the Six Flags Family, then renamed Six Flags Houston, then Six Flags Astroworld).
