DATman Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 has anyone gotten rerides even though the line was at its normal length, and ppl were waiting to get on? It happened to me on the matterhorn. THey put our train (with us on it) on the transfer track for some reason, then we went to the end of the starion, they put us back on the main track, and we rode again!
DragonKhan Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 At some parks they don't mind if you hop back on the train when there is a single seat open and obviously nobody taking it. This way I got like 6 rerides on SilverStar, even though the line was over an hour...
verticalzero Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Went on "Collosus" at Heide Park 6 times in a row, there were people waiting to go on the coaster. If no-one was waiting for your seats you can re-ride.
Stitch Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 The most I have ever had consecutively was six rides in a row on Racer @ Pki, it had snowed that day so not many people were there and it was close to closing time.
Reality15 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Got 39 rides in on Shivering Timbers in a row before re-rides were banned at Cedar Fair parks. 39 is a lot for a ride like that, right?
FlyingScooter Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 It only happened to me at CLP on the Blue Streak. The ride ops were asleep at the levers when it came to a full stop. We slowed down, and went right thru the station.
verticalzero Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 "Reality15" did you get a headache going on Shivering Timbers 39 times in a row, how did you feel when you got off the ride.
verticalzero Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Most Theme Parks in the UK are quite tight with re-rides, even if there is no-one waiting for your seat, they ask you to get off and walk round through the 1/2 mile long Qing system.
coasterguy618 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 On skull mountain at SFGADv there was a really long line and my mom wanted to go on. So we waited for like 30 mins which is long for skull mountain and right when we were about to get the ride op let the people in front of us take a second ride. We got so mad!
ZipityDoDog Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I Rode Goliath at SFMM 16 times in a row. There was several times however I sat in the station until there was enough riders on the train. The ride op said she could only dispatch the train with 12 or more riders.
Inferno Insane Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Mmm Rerides, Done quite a lot as I like doing it. Best so far was Alton. (To Easy at Thorpe) About 70 on Nemesis in a row, Alton Towers are quite strict when people want to reride making you walk round every ride ect, But early in the year the park was dead (just open for 2005 season) and the nice ride op open the Srq for me and some friends as they saw we were getting fed up walking around each time. So basically got off and walk round up the SRQ stairs and back on the same train and seat (So I think that’s counts).
Canadmos Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 A few weeks ago my brother and I got a reride on Vortex at Paramount Canada's Wonderland, even though the line was somewhere around 30-45 minutes long. We had waited for the front row and rode it once. Then when we were getting out of the train the ride op asked us if we would like to ride again in the second row! For whatever reason everyone in line was piling into everyother row except for the second!
ParkTrips Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 When I saw at Martin's Fantasy Island on a schoolday, I had five rides or so, but the special part about that is that they weren't even stopping the train in the station, just asking if I wanted to keep going (the park was DEAD) In one day, I've ridden Mind Bender at SFOG 59 times, and for parks I had to travel to my bests are 26 on Silver Comet, 21 on Apollo's Chariot and 17 on Top Gun The Jet Coaster.
SonOfBeastSucks Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Years ago at SFKK, it was dead. I went on a cold, gloomy day in October and I think there were no more than 50 people in the park! I rode Thunder Run and Twisted Twins (Twisted Sisters at that time) serious at least 20 times in a row, and I could have ridden them more if I wanted to. Also, Chang had a little more attention from people but you could still get an extreme amount of rerides without getting off. The flats were all open as well and I din't see anyone on a flat all day. It was also Fright Fest and none of the haunted houses or anything had a line. It was the best day I ever had at SFKK! Parks usualy don't mind if you jump back on if there is an empty seat, but I am rarely at parks alone, so I don't.
ebl Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 My first-ever experience with Flashback at SFMM was a double ride. There weren't any people waiting, so the guy said we could ride again. Nobody waiting for Flashback...that should have told me something... Eric
momo1tx Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Weirdest way I got a few rerides: I was visiting SFA, and was in the waterpark. The lines were long, around a half hour for the top slides, and at the front of the park rides like Wild One and Typhoon had longish waits. I went to the back of the park to rides the park's best coaster, S:ROS. And there were NO lines! I got seven rides, would have been in a row if I hadn't gotten off once to get a walk-on ride on Batwing . It was a great experience, and then my last ride, after these walk-ons, was a 20 minute wait for Joker's Jinx. Made no sense.
Meteornotes Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Two memorable ones: Sitting on the Phoenix for an hour straight! Robb & I riding Rebel Yell forwards about 30 times in a row at the Hypersonic media day. Why wait four hours for a Hypersonic ride when you can ride wood coasters over and over? Plus, that night was still the best rides I've ever gotten on Hurler... dt
M_Force_4_ever Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I have gotten 9 rides on Viper (SFGAm) without leaving the train, I think thats about it. A whole group of us who hung out at SFGAm this season got rerides on Deja Vu almost every night in june by doing the "one more ride" chant at the end of the last ride of the night, then they made a rule against rerides at SFGAm =(
YoshiFan Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I got 3 rides on the Comet at Hersheypark. They were closing and we were the last train for the night and they said we could stay on for 2 extra rides if we wanted. At Dorney I should have been able to re-ride as much as I wanted because not only was my row empty 90% of the time on Hydra and Talon but most times the trains were less than 1/3 full. Unfortunately, they weren't allowing re-rides. I didn't blame the ops as they sounded like they wouldn't have cared but it sounded like it was a Dorney Park or Cedar Fair policy. Kind of annoying considering they were just sending out the rows empty anyway.
Twister II Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 At Cedar Point on TTD, 4 times. The restraints got stuck, they just said to go into the station and get in the front of the line again, umm... our train got stuck on the lauch track, we had to walk back down the catwalk, they gave us 2 for that. I dont remember why the other time. This was with 1+hr line!
cfc Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Yep--on the Grizzly River Run at DCA. One of our party was disabled, and GRR has this nifty feature that allows the CMs to pull a raft off to the side to a special handicapped loading zone. Well, as we floated back into the station, the CM was a bit slow at the switch, and shot right on out of the station again, with all the CMs waving and shouting "We will find you!" We didn't mind--we all liked GRR.
mark.w Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Ask the ride ops on Goliath (Walibi World) about the consecutive ride coaster record.
colinmom71 Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Yep, most were at Wild Adventures. I think it was a school day and the park was pretty dead. We got re-rides on most of the rides there, with Cheetah (back when it was a decent ride) and Hangman being the most often re-ridden. Heck, the ride ops were at one point in time actually asking us if we wanted a re-ride... And while it's not a coaster, the most hellish re-ride I ever had was on "Small World" at WDW - 8 times in a row. Moral of story - never take cute 3 yr olds on the wheelchair equipped boat when the park is (relatively for WDW) dead. Since we were the only party in line with a handicapped person, the ops just asked us if we wanted to re-ride. The 3 yr olds answered for us, repeatedly...
cfc Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Busch Gardens Williamsburg will allow rerides on coasters if it's close to closing time and there's no one waiting for your seat when the train pulls into the station. You can ride the skyway all the way around, too, if it's a slow day.
BarryH Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 A friend of mine rode the Great American Scream Machine at SFGAdv 39 times once! Imagine all the headbanging!
