Phew! Finally got caught up.

My thoughts. Loved to new video style.

Thunderbolt looks intriguing in model form, more impressive than the previous videos (for the record I was at Coney Island Friday and ground has not been broken)

Loving that another junior Gravity Group is being built and StoryLand is a good place for it.

Regarding the "mall in New Jersey", any thoughts? American Dream possibly?

I'm a little surprised this thread died so quickly. Is there really no more excitement over the new GCI and Gravity Group installations? Anything else? I'm shocked, and a little confused.....

^I think compared to previous IAAPA's, this one didn't have nearly as much big news.

Honestly, IAAPA updates have always had a "short shelf life" mainly because the event happens, we all talk about it intensely for a couple of days, and then everyone goes away for the Thanksgiving holiday. Come back, and it's 'old news'.

It's kind of how IAAPA has been the past few years.

I think RMC was the superstar of IAAPA 2013. Maybe 2014, 2015 as well.

I really didn't think this year's IAAPA lacks great news. With all the new projects from those great manufactuurers, this year is as great as the previous years. I love the new editing of the video and a huge thank you to all TPR people who made a great update of IAAPA, as always.

^^ LOL! On my phone most likely tweeting or posting to Facebook! Seriously, I feel like everyone's photo of me looks like this lately! I get no time to actually enjoy stuff as I'm constantly posting so other people can feel like "they are there!"

Sorry to hear your updates suck most of the enjoyment out of your experience, thankfully for the rest of us you have not let that affect your reports. They are still very fun and informative to read. Hopefully in the future you can find a better balance to enjoy it a little more. From my standpoint it is MUCH APPRECIATED that you do make the effort to make us 'feel we are there' because it pays off in great coverage.

Was it only you that was providing social media updates? That sort of thing seems like it would be best to have a team (one for Facebook, one for Twitter, etc) so that everyone has the time to enjoy the event.

^ It's only me. To be honest, we've tried the "team" thing in the past, but it just doesn't work quite the same. TPR *IS* "Robb & Elissa" and having other people write our Social Media update or TPR reports just didn't seem to work.

We have people help us out with our Facebook page and with moving things over to the forum, but it's almost entirely written by me. And that's just the way it has to be.

And I'll be honest, IAAPA is by far more "work" for me than anything else. I "enjoyed" the show much more in the first couple of years we went, but we've been covering the trade show since 2001 and it hasn't really change THAT much through the years. Sure, I still like going, but now the show is all about work for me.

^Well I can speak for myself, and my friends that read and share the reports, and say that we really appreciate all the work you do! IAAPA is one of those things I'll probably never have the chance to attend in person, but reading your reports really does make me "feel like I'm there"!

^ And that is really our goal! I guess you can say our "enjoyment" of most of the updates and stuff we do is hearing that other people really liked reading them. Don't get me wrong, we do have some fun when we are on the trips and doing updates, but they are "work" for the most part, and as long as you guys are all enjoying it, then that's why we are there in the first place!

I'm still relatively certain that you get a sick pleasure out of watching us ride Goudurix or Bandit.

Just looked through the report again. There's some really cool stuff this year. I really hope someone has funnel sticks next year, and that we see more Sally Corp as well!

Was there a fresh churro cart? I remember having one of those at the SD fair years ago, but am totally bummed they never caught on elsewhere! So good!

Soooooooo, maybe I just missed the big announcement, but has anyone heard anything new about the 500+ foot Polercoaster? They said the client would have their own release in about 2 weeks, but that was way more than 2 weeks ago.

Something is screwy here...

^You know that old saying "Don't hold your breath"...well, whenever a 500ft tall coaster not associated with a park is announced I say that a lot!

Hopefully something will be announced soon though, I still keep hearing about it through all kinds of contacts.

^ I know, I've had the idea of the client bowing out and all that, but I want this to happen too much to give up hope, haha.

Yup. I agree. There is, however a TON of random development going on in Orlando right now, so maybe they are just waiting until the timing is right... or maybe this will turn out to be another Orlando Thrill Park!
