SuperShawn
Thanks for putting all the great coverage in one place Robb. Between work and family In town I've missed a lot of what's been going on. Did get a chance to watch the new video format and really liked it. I like hearing the different companies answers all in a row instead of zoning in and out of repetitive interviews each year. The hard Rock Park question was especially interesting to hear their thoughts on.
Vtafro
Thanks for all the coverage, having a crappy week of work but really enjoying the IAAPA coverage by tpr. The video was interesting and liked the new format.
ElToroExtreme
Robb I love the new style video! So nice hearing the same answers all at once, rather than listening to long rambling or painful interviews. Great job, and thank you for gathering that information for us! As to some of the interviewees being cocky. Just remember what they are ultimately there to do, sell product. I've never met a single sales person that isn't cocky in some way. Greatdrift
I got to say... that is one amazing model of The Smiler! Is it a working model?
robbalvey
^ It wasn't working, or at least wasn't turned on for the show if it's possible to work. (looked like no)

RCoasterny
I wonder if Larson had a booth, and did they display a Flying Turns car?
cfc
^I think you can safely classify that as a "specialty item."
Hercules
The show is currently up to 28,000 registrants according to today's IAAPA Today email. From what I remember that is slightly down from years past. Hopefully people take advantage of the Friday special and there are some additional people on the floor tomorrow. Barge84
Work has sucked for me as well this week, so I finally had a chance to watch the video last night. I thought it was funny that someone said it was too short. When I first looked I thought, "20 minutes? I'm not going to watch that. It's too long." I liked how informal the interviews were. That's probably why I like TPR more than any other site. I'm just interested in different things than a lot of other enthusiasts. Thanks for all the coverage. PCW_Nut
^ It wasn't working, or at least wasn't turned on for the show if it's possible to work. (looked like no) So it's realistic too? All kidding aside, that was a real awesome model of it. Thanks for all the great coverage guys.

_koppen
I wonder if those Kumbak trains are going to Kentucky Kingdom's SLC for the re-furbishment? They could be, but it would be a smarter move IMO to get the new Vekoma trains, since they also offer a much improved wheel assembly.

australianalex
Good to see the KumbaK trains on display, hopefully more parks will opt for them for their SLCs since they make a HUGE difference. They obviously eliminate headbanging, but they also don't cause any chest discomfort like I've felt on Vekoma's new restraints. The only issue with them is that load-time has become ridiculous due to the ride-ops having to do up everybody's seat belt restraint. This is partly due to the fact that the belt is unreachable by the rider once the lapbar is down, but also supposedly because if the seatbelt is twisted the restraints won't lock properly and the train won't leave the station. If this is true (it may just be an excuse for the incompetence of Movieworld's staff) then I hope it's something KumbaK fixes in the future. All kidding aside, that was a real awesome model of it. Thanks for all the great coverage guys. Being a coaster modeler, I actually know the guy who builds the models for Gerstlauer, René Jachmich. He and his wife Bea have been to visit us in the States during a coaster tour. I can confirm for you, via conversation with him about the model of the Smiler, it is static, like all of his coaster models. He does remarkable work. If you Google his name, he has a nice website (in German) and you can see several of his scale models, including the Schwarzkopf Triple Loop, Thriller and Olympia Looping and assorted Gerstlauer rides (coasters and flat rides). coastercrazy216
Interesting to see S&S offering a motor driven model instead of the air driven. How did it compare to the kiddie swing they have showed off in past years?
Moose
Good to see the KumbaK trains on display, hopefully more parks will opt for them for their SLCs since they make a HUGE difference. Really? All of my experiences with Kumbak trains have been awful. Their wooden trains at Port Adventura and the Python trains at Efteling were extremely uncomfortable. Jon Sabo
Another round of excellent coverage of IAAPA-2013! Big thanks to Robb and all the other members who posted photos, videos of the event. I am looking forward to all the new coasters and other attractions on deck for 2014-15!! azza29
The trains Kumbak built for Sea Viper aren't anything special, just as much headbanging as normal Arrow trains (although lower-profile, so the forces are more intense). But they've done a great job with the ones on Lethal Weapon/Arkham Asylum, so I'm not surprised that they are trying to sell that design to other parks with SLCs.
