larrygator
I'm trying to vision a woman who is "super pregnant." Look down at your own belly and pretend you have half the boobs of Joe!

DerekRx
Any chance you guys stopped off at Southport and picked me up a turtle? Or at least go to the pub and find some HopDevil. That would make me happier than vertical loops, and we know how happy those make me!
SharkTums
There were no turtles at Southport...but they did get something!
Guy T. Koepp
Wow! Blackpool does a lot of work on their off season. Is this normal, or is this an unusualy special year that they are celebrating? Great Pictures. I've never seen Robb with glasses before. Are those new, or do you usually wear contacts? I almost didn't recognise you. You're like the Clark Kent/Superman of coaster enthusiasts. Does that make Elissa the Lois Lane of female coaster enthusiasts? Cause Dave would be a perfect Lex Luthor if we shaved his head. Oooo. Lou could be Miss Tessmocker. Derek could be Jimmy Olsen. ETC. ETC. ETC. Great TR. I look forward to more UK adventures. Dailey Enterprizes
Blackpool better be careful and not get the vekoma and arrow too close; they might have sex and produce a 4D
cfc
There were no turtles at Southport...but they did get something! I'm afraid to guess what. Let's hope it's nothing that penicillin can't handle.

crazyrider06
Great update guys..i had to laugh when you said that the dipper was getting an extreme makeover, its reminded me of the show and some of those ppl omg lol
Louise
Guy, Robb's glasses surprised me too! I was like "WTF, do you even wear contacts?!" It was a lot of fun, but being in Blackpool with Robb again kinda made me miss Elissa, my Aussies and old men, and the rest of the UK trip crew. It was interesting yet creepy at the same time wandering around in a completely empty park, all new experience for me. I know he reads sometimes and will probably check this thread out so thanks for showing us around Mark, you were really great!!

Dailey Enterprizes
^Haha, sexy! I got a question, what does Blackpool look like compared to its surroundings because I've never seen an overview of the park. Is it like Coney Island?
Cyclone37
http://www.webbaviation.co.uk/gallery/v/blackpool/ some excellent pictures from webbavaition of Blackpool and indeed the pleasure beach from way up in the air!!! it will give you an idea of the whole resort and also how packed in the attractions at the PB actually are! be sure to look around the site aswell for more interesting pics of other places in the UK, including Alton Towers from up anove! Dailey Enterprizes
^ Wow that's incredible, here I am thinking Kennywood was really cramp. Haha, Kennywood's surroundings look desolate compared to Blackpool. It also looks like a pretty good park from those pictures and from those trip reports. I think I need to make a visit to Blackpool someday.
coaster-inc
update of site and a little history lesson as well... cool entrace geoffrey thompson speed boat garage yum, ice cream flying machines I WANNA RIDE THIS! noah's ark in our morrisons super market there are these cool old photos, and thought you all should see them and this is the cool bridge over the train and the old top of big dipper hard working as usual relation of station to track, can see why the supports needed changing and the company that is putting it up big one track coming back
Louise
Whoa, those old pics are really cool!! I love old photographs. My stupid Morrisons has nothing like that, the b*stards!
Dailey Enterprizes
Awww.... It's our Ark's long lost cousin. I'm really curious to see if there is any difference between Blackpool's Noahs Ark and Kennywood's Ark. I think someone should start rebuilding these awesome walk-thru attractions for parks again... eddiemufc
ummm, no this is taking along time for somethin so small... and easter hmmm, that sounds unrealistic for pleasure beach mentality.. maby june more like but either way its gona be slim pickings for febs opening, no:big one monorail train big dipper and any other rides that just cant be bothered to be opened... ill be getting pass next saturday. The big one is going to be open for the weekends in february unless the weather isnt right for it to be open.As for infusion it wont be open before than april. I know this because i emailed blackpool pleasure beach asking about them an thats what the reply told me
coaster-inc
yeah, big one more likely to be open now, apart from when moving track into position with the crane, but they will have to get all new structure safety checks and stuff wont they coz of the change in supports? wonder if big dipper will be, and the train and monorail, how awesome would the construction shots be then. Yes... Blackpool's ark is way better. There are more interactive gags and way more to look at, and no stupid water room at the end.
coaster05
^I agree with Nicole much better version of the Ark. Although Kennywood's is a little more fun at Halloween.
