Blackpool Pleasure Beach (BPB) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Wow! Blackpool does a lot of work on their off season. Is this normal, or is this an unusualy special year that they are celebrating?

Great Pictures. I've never seen Robb with glasses before. Are those new, or do you usually wear contacts? I almost didn't recognise you. You're like the Clark Kent/Superman of coaster enthusiasts. Does that make Elissa the Lois Lane of female coaster enthusiasts? Cause Dave would be a perfect Lex Luthor if we shaved his head. Oooo. Lou could be Miss Tessmocker. Derek could be Jimmy Olsen. ETC. ETC. ETC.

Great TR. I look forward to more UK adventures.

Guy, Robb's glasses surprised me too! I was like "WTF, do you even wear contacts?!"

It was a lot of fun, but being in Blackpool with Robb again kinda made me miss Elissa, my Aussies and old men, and the rest of the UK trip crew.

It was interesting yet creepy at the same time wandering around in a completely empty park, all new experience for me.

I know he reads sometimes and will probably check this thread out so thanks for showing us around Mark, you were really great!!

ummm, no this is taking along time for somethin so small... and easter hmmm, that sounds unrealistic for pleasure beach mentality.. maby june more like but either way its gona be slim pickings for febs opening, no:

big one

monorail

train

big dipper

and any other rides that just cant be bothered to be opened... ill be getting pass next saturday.

The big one is going to be open for the weekends in february unless the weather isnt right for it to be open.As for infusion it wont be open before than april.

I know this because i emailed blackpool pleasure beach asking about them an thats what the reply told me

yeah, big one more likely to be open now, apart from when moving track into position with the crane, but they will have to get all new structure safety checks and stuff wont they coz of the change in supports?

wonder if big dipper will be, and the train and monorail, how awesome would the construction shots be then.

Awww....

It's our Ark's long lost cousin. I'm really curious to see if there is any difference between Blackpool's Noahs Ark and Kennywood's Ark. I think someone should start rebuilding these awesome walk-thru attractions for parks again...

Yes... Blackpool's ark is way better. There are more interactive gags and way more to look at, and no stupid water room at the end.
