J man Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Batman: The Ride is fun in the rain. It just added to the dark mood of the surroundings. It was fun.
Movieguy Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I was on CP's Wicked Twister in the rain. I thought it was really fun getting rained on like that while riding, since it wasn't a heavy downpour.
SLUSHIE Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Hmm... IDK of to manny rides I've ridden in the rain. Â California Screamin' was fun, no line. Â Steel Force was fun too, but it got my camera all wet. It didnt start raning till we were on the lift hill. Â I'm pretty sure those are the only ones I've been on in the rain.
4718 Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I did a saftey ride on Thrill Shot in the rain, does that count? Then there's the "testing" of go karts on the totally soaked track and not having the slightest amount of traction.....FUN!
UberBeavis Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Riddler's Revenge was fun in the rain - until it started hailing...
Steven24 Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I went on Air at Alton Towers, England when it was raining pretty hard. I really enjoyed it though especially when I was on my back with rain hitting my face.  I think any water ride is good in the rain because you know your gonna get wet anyway  I don't mind any ride in the rain really it just makes it more fun in my opinion.
Coasterlicious Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 SROS @ SFDL was fun in the rain... except when we paused on the lift and it was really raining hard..

Riding a water ride in the rain: meh, I'd rather do other things. WORKING a water ride in the rain: crapola, big time! No one is at the park anyway if they've been forecasting rain or it's been raining all night, so the park is totally deserted, and it's not even worth while to open.....all the coasters at SFMM but Batman and only a handful of others are running, and it's generally dismal. Doesn't stop me from liking rainy days, just makes me hope they'll close the park early due to lack of guests and go home!
shepp Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Front row of the GL Villain in a pelting rain...ridiculous, painful fun.
ParkTrips Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Millennium was a dagger-in-your-face blast! (no seriously it was a great added element if you can tolerate it)
CoasterEricHP Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 When I used to work at Dragons when the train would come into unload we'd not advance it right away so that all the water on top would come pouring down over everyone . Â Eric
Tour2ma Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Grabbed about a 30 minutes of continuous RT on Holiday World's The Raven in the rain before lightning forced a temporary shutdown. I'm not sure exactly how much speed was picked up, but it definitely picked up some. Â Only section where you really got pelted was the first turn over the lake. Face was stinging pretty good there. I was happy I had on my wrap-around shades. Rest of the ride was reasonably well protected by the trees. Â Only significant in the rain experience I've had. Next best thing to night riding...
DATman Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 REVIVAL!!!! Â Â SpaceMountain, no doubt about it
momo1tx Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 I rode most of SFA's coasters in pouring rain, that made them all pretty bad, except Two-Face because it was inverted, so the rain didn't hit me. Â I rode BBW once, and it was weird. I got on, did the first part, and it wasn't raining. As I ascended the second lift, it started to rain in a dramatic fashion. I absolutely loved the experience of skimming over the water with the rain coming down all around me. My best ride in the rain, and my best ride on BBW.
downunder Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I rode Millenium Force 12 times straight in the pouring rain in late August, it kills, why - because there was no line. Â I was hoping Mean Streak would be better in the rain but it wasn't. Â Raptor and Magnum were good in the rain. Â Ther best part of torrential rain was that the next day (wed 8/31) the park was deserted even if though the weather is good.
Zand Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Screw rain, try hail. I rode Loch Ness Monster in a suprise hail storm last April. Boy did that suck. Â I've ridden the following in rain: Â Superman (SFNE) Batman (SFNE) Apollo's Chariot Big Bad Wolf Loch Ness Monster High Roller (Vegas) Â And the following in the snow: Â Everything at SFNE
socalMAN123 Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Dude, there is no good coaster in the rain. Your going down a drop at 85 MPH and getting slammed by raindrops. Does that sound like fun? I didn't think so. Â I would say any mellow coaster that goes below 50 MPH is a good coaster to ride in the rain. ---Brent 8)
DATman Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 ^how bout any indoor roller coaster in the rain!
lapseofreason Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 None. Â I think the only coaster I rode in the rain was Villain at Geauga Lake and it nearly killed me... OUCH for my face. Â Â -amanda
sbrownttd Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Superman Ride of Steel, SFNE or Pepsi max big one. Ouch they hurt, little rain drops feel like rocks. Eventhough that day a few others and I did the big one like 30+ times that day. If there is no queue then i will just walk out the exit and back into the entrance no matter what type of weather it is.
DragonKhan Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Man, you're all pussies  And once again I post that picture:   Our eyes were closed, the rain was just too much. Hurt like needles, but damn did we feel great after that ride! It was better than any massage I've ever had! Oh, and btw, the ride closed right after we got off
Canobie Fan Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 And the following in the snow: Â Everything at SFNE I have rode ME,SROS, and Scream in the snow.. But not everything in the park. I got to ride TGEs boomerang in the snow this year
Teddymonster Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 ^^Dragon, that gurl in the second row is either in a ridiculous amount of pain or is grossed out by all you half-nekkid mens!!!
