_IntaMAN_ Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I would love to see GhostRider get Topper Track and run trimless to say the least, let's make it kick ass again! I would also LOVE to see Colossus get one side run like it used to, and the other side with I-Box track... now the only problem there is to decide what side to ride! Gwazi is in desperate need for RMC love as well... Here's to the future of RMC renovations!
3Mutts Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 One coaster I forgot to mentioned in my first post is Hurler at Kings Dominion, that thing is truly awful but it has some great potential. I can see those 90* turns running along the ground right now.
Metsfan0618 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Great White at Morey's is on its way to a giant overhaul...That thing is painful now.
Myself Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I rode the KD Hurler for the first time on Sunday. I don't know how it happened (fluke most likely) but I actually didn't think the ride was that bad. Sure, there was some shuffling around the bends, but there were only a few major bumps, and the long stretch of hills after the first drop and turn was actually relatively smooth. Perhaps it was because I was expecting it to be on a CP's Dinn woodie level of roughness, but you could tell there was a good ride hiding in there. I'd be all for topper track on Hurler, but if it were smooth it would be a great ride that wouldn't need a complete re-do of the design.
Canobie Coaster Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Six Flags New England's Cyclone is at the top of my list. Â First, Six Flags has been giving the treatment to some of its older wooden roller coasters lately. Back when it opened, the Cyclone was considered one of the country's best coasters thanks to its ferocity and killer ejector air time and the Rocky Mountain Treatment would restore that. Â Second, Six Flags New England appears to be running out of room for a major new coaster. If they were to overhaul Cyclone, they would be able to market it as a new attraction and get a great compliment to Bizarro.
Aceattack52 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I would love to see GhostRider get Topper Track and run trimless to say the least, let's make it kick A$$ again! I would also LOVE to see Colossus get one side run like it used to, and the other side with I-Box track... now the only problem there is to decide what side to ride! Gwazi is in desperate need for RMC love as well... Here's to the future of RMC renovations! No way they'll let it go trimless.
Wes Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Why not? It ran trimless for the first 5-6 years of its life, no reason a proper rehab couldn't bring it back to that state.
Aceattack52 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 ^ I don't think they will remove the trims. There are lower maintenance costs when it's not running as fast, which is in the interest if the park financially speaking.
DougMJr Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 ^Yeah, but topper track is more durable, reducing maintenance cost after the initial investment. I don't understand why they wouldn't take off the trims if they put topper track on the ride.
SenseOFone Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 With all this talk of RMC in all their glory, I can't help but wonder whatever happened to the Intamin Plug and Plays. Both companies utilize a very similar principal to design and build their wooden coasters, so why haven't we seen any Plug and Plays lately...
simaticable Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 According to a ScreamScape rumor, it could very well be Medusa at SFM.
DarienLaker Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 The Predator at Darien Lake should be the next coaster to get the RMC treatment!
IronWolfman Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I think Medusa at SFM should just get a Topper Track treatment and new RMC trains, but that is a personal opinion. Colossus at SFMM seems like the best candidate but also the Boss at SFStl would be great too.
boughtontroy Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I think Grizzly at KD, needs a iron horse treatment.
bottom_feeder_13 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 ^ No, Grizzly was pretty awesome at ECB last year, not buttery but still pretty smooth with some good forces.
Meteornotes Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Now that it appears everything has been announced for 2014, I have to say I'm surprised SFMM hasn't yet announced any sort of future treatment for Colossus. I really thought that would be next on the list. Â dt
ernierocker Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 ^But that would of prevented them from having the most redundant kiddie coasters in the world title that they will pimp around next year.
gerstlaueringvar Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Fireball! It got really rough(but not as close to Hades360) so topper track or Iron Horse would be great for it I think.
Mr Stratosphere Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 It would be nice if they could re-track Manhattan Express at New York New York here in Vegas! New trains too please? *Wishful Thinking*
DJeXeL Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 M.E. already got new trains and look how that turned out....... Not to mention it's a little hard to re-track a steel coaster.
loop-de-loop Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I think it would be cool to see RMC get their hands on the Mighty Canadian Minebuster at CW. An out-and-back layout like that could be turned into a major airtime machine. However, it seems that it is more the twister layouts getting RMC's treatment.
Pyrozooka0 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Even though I love the ride, GASM at SFOG would make an EPIC hybrid. SFOG getting a RMC woodie as a new coaster would be even better though. (especially if Ninja is destroyed to make room)
