ECZenith Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 That's the coolest coaster logo I've ever seen! Can't wait to see how the ride looks set up at Dorney.
coastakid Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I was just wondering, since in the logo the horns of the "thing" are both spirals, i was just thinking that maybe they are changing the back spike to a spiral too? Well I can't wait to ride this next season even if that doesn't happen!
yankees15 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 ^I highly doubt that happening, but if it does I will be so happy!
Tanks4me05 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 If I were the president of DP, I would simply go for the best, and get a larger version of WT. "Tallest and fastest coaster in the state! Straight up and twisting!"
kraxleRIDAH Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I was just wondering, since in the logo the horns of the "thing" are both spirals, i was just thinking that maybe they are changing the back spike to a spiral too? Well I can't wait to ride this next season even if that doesn't happen! Haha. It's just a logo. Don't read too far into it.
coasterdude5 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I hope the ride is black with red supports, that would look cool.
christianscoasters Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I honestly don't like the name. IMO, it sounds like a lame attempt for a cool name. But, that's just what I think. ^I think it would look nice with orange track, black supports.
texasgiantrules Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 ^^^Ew. I think that'd look too Halloween-ey. I'd like to see yellow and purple, as stated somewhere before.
coastrfreak2000 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I hope the ride is black with red supports, that would look cool. It's going to be called 'Voodoo', not 'Emo'. I think the name and logo are really good, especially for a CF park. But I have to admit it sounds like a name for a NL or RCT coaster.
coasterdude5 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 ^ Haha, Emo: The Ride... As long as it's not V2 at SFDK's scheme...
Adrenaline_Rush Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I could see it getting this mauve-ish kind of track with a sort of dull red (Kumbas supports) kind of color for the supports. I think that would look kinda cool. And for those who dont know what mauve is, its kind of a little bit darker Griffon idea.
yankees15 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 "Newsplusnotes" has posted new pictures of track on Dorney's property. http://newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/
Axman Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 They better paint the ride.... I don't like the S:UE colors.
coasterbilly Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I'm not sure if they will paint them now, but it would be better since the already red Steel Force is right behind it ya know? Well whatever, if they keep them red hopefully the supports are a different color. I'm just ready to have a fresh impulse close to home!
BDG Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Cedar Fair is already selling Voodoo t-shirts... http://www.cfmarketplaces.com/acb/stores/2/Adult-Apparel-C133.aspx
raptor6 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 At least Geauga Lake's impulse is going to have a better name, logo, and paint job... I still have a better ride in Wicked Twister, so it won't be missed as much as Dominator.
coasterdude5 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Does wicked twister have a holding brake? Straight drops are better, IMO.
verticalzero Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I think the name is fine, "Hades" is a worse name as this can be linked to satanic things. "Banshee" was a bit too far but a great name, it means "whaling death" which is right for a stand-up coaster, but can put people off from riding it due to them thinking the ride is unsafe. To make the ride more spooky - paint the track or supports in "glow in the dark" colours.
asr Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Does wicked twister have a holding brake? Straight drops are better, IMO. No. I don't think it could, with both spikes being twisted. Anyway, that is an awesome logo, and a cool name too! And they will probably repaint it. Remember, when X-Flight showed up at King's Island, it was still Green, but was repainted red while being constructed.

The spikes on Wicked Twister are twisted, where both max out at 450 degrees. The ride is taller (215 ft) and faster (72 mph) than all other impulse coasters. I agree, straight drops are better as well. If you look closely, you can see where the paint is chipping off of Firehawk, showing the original neon green color of X-Flight. It tries to live again!
coasterbilly Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 haha it refuses to die!!! Yeah that's a good point I forgot they repaint it on site sometimes, hopefully that's the case so the colors can vary at the park. They have orange, red, and 2 bright greens, so a dark blue would fit nicely or a dark purple. Just a note, I'm hitting Dorney this weekend so I'll find out more hopefully and possibly some construction pics if any, also if anyone wants to meet up PM me!
yankees15 Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 The ride is now listed on Dorney's website but they don't have any info except a 52" height limit. http://www.dorneypark.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill_rides/voodoo.cfm
DarkStitch626 Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Has there been any update on construction of Voodoo? I know they are starting to sell T-shirts and such on the website but theres been a lack of updates.
