Purplepills
For anyone interested, the website now has a tasteful game where once complete you go into a draw to be one of the first to ride. The game involves sawing through the flesh on your computer generated leg using your mouse, and once you're through the flesh you have to hit the bone with the saw until it breaks and your foot comes clean off. Its pretty foul, but worth the entry. Â The most disturbing way yet of entering a draw to be one of the first to ride a new rollercoaster. Probably. freddycoasterkid
My 1st post. Â I managed to finish the disciples of SAW game like 10 times, I hope this means I get 10 times more chance of winning to be the first to ride. I have looked all over the web and there seems to be no construction updates I need to see how the station is comming along. Updates please!! Â Â Keep up to date with any new construction photos from around the internet. Definitely worth a bookmark for all you Thorpe fans. So Click on the link to see my blog > http://thorpepark09.blogspot.com/. Or why not check out My Videos on my Youtube account > http://uk.youtube.com/user/ThorpeParkNewCoaster. Purplepills
I have looked all over the web and there seems to be no construction updates I need to see how the station is comming along. Updates please!! Â Hi, and welcome to TPR =] Â The most recent update I have found (which strangely enough is dated tomorrow) is here. Â Also Thorpe Park Mania have good updates usually, being a site more dedicated to Thorpe Park. There havent been any updates on there recently though, and to be honest the updates will probably be fairly few and far between now as the track is laid, so until the theming starts I wouldnt think anything of much interest will happen. Â You will find the odd update here, but the other sites are a better place for information, unless its from the official site, in which case it will get relayed here also. Â 5 days until the next video is released though, looking forward to that.
freddycoasterkid
^ Thank you so much for showing me the link  Wow! lot's has happend to the station and the Ride photography kiosk is starting to appear as well as lot's more. I'm am so glad that Thorpe park are keeping the CCR (Canada Creek Railway). I new that Thorpe would'nt demolish this classic tran ride around CC. In the plans the train goes though the middle of the coaster which will give a great view of the of SAW: the ride.  But THORPE PARK has an update on their blog section on the mini site. Seems like as well as ride photos, they're installing an on ride DVD . but the camera is only on the front seats of the ride. They have invested £13.5 million on this project That is a lot of money to spend on one ride. See for yourself http://sawtheride.com/blog/  ADMIN EDIT: Please DO NOT double post. If you wish to contribute something to a thread in which you were the last poster, please edit that post rather than add a new one. _______________________________________ http://thorpepark09.blogspot.com/ http://uk.youtube.com/user/ThorpeParkNewCoaster
Purplepills
^It says there will be a camera on the front of the ride, which should actually capture everyone not just those in the front, since there are only 2 rows of seats anyway.  Buying a DVD of my face on a coaster isnt really what I would go for, but I guess there might be a market for it. Unless its part of the 'your day' style thing that they have at Alton Towers, in which case it makes sense.  With this £13.5million ride in 2009 and another £12million ride going in at Alton for 2010 things are looking food for our 2 best parks =]
TPDave
^It says there will be a camera on the front of the ride, which should actually capture everyone not just those in the front, since there are only 2 rows of seats anyway.  It won't film the back row because of the way the seats are laid out on eurofighter cars.  With regard to updates, another thorpe park site to check is www.thorpeparkguide.com  Dave
Purplepills
^Surely it could be raised/angled giving a view of both rows, even if the view of the back gets restricted at times. Â It would be a bit stupid from a money making point of view to only film 50% of the riders.
TPDave
I could be wrong, but I doubt it. Â Firstly, the second row of seats is directly behind the first, and not staggered enough to film it from the front row. I assume you're ridden a eurofighter, you know how restricted the view is in the back. Â Many rides have ridercam but not on every seat. For example Bandit at Movie park germany has cameras at the front of every car, but not in the second or third row. Wood Dragon 1988
Can't believe I've never ridden a Eurofighter, but this looks like a good one. Hope to possibly ride this at Ghosterforce next year if my plans hold up!
Purplepills
I could be wrong, but I doubt it. Firstly, the second row of seats is directly behind the first, and not staggered enough to film it from the front row. I assume you're ridden a eurofighter, you know how restricted the view is in the back.  I haven't actually riddden one but did look on RCDB to see the layout in some of the photos, and that it would be possible if it was raised etc. as opposed to just guessing. If it is just plain fixed to the front of the car then it will only film the front like you say.  I just thought if they were trying to plain make money then they'd try and get as many people as possible in the shot. divyking
Some more concept art for the station and queue line: Â (from Thorpe Park Mania) Â Â Â Â Â I really hope that they stick to this as it looks imense!
jarmor
Can't believe I've never ridden a Eurofighter, but this looks like a good one. Hope to possibly ride this at Ghosterforce next year if my plans hold up! well since there is only 2 in the US its not uncommon that someone hasnt't had th chance to get on one. I think this coaster looks fun but I like the small jerky elements on the small compact EF's!
Purplepills
I also really hope they stick to the concept art, it does look fantastic for creating the right sort of atmosphere. I'd hope that they will, in as much as this ride does seem to be a lot about the theming with all the effort which (should) put into the station building etc. Â I just hope that they maintain the theming well and half of it hasn't stopped working in a few years time. freddycoasterkid
I'm not sure if someone has already posted this before, but on the "Blue Print For Torture" section of the official website of SAW, in the pile of pictures there is a plan of the Station themeing http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/8404/sany0001vb4.jpg. As you can see the themeing has changed, with lots of pipes going everywhere, and a destroyed effect, to create the sawmill atmosphere. Â P.S 103 days to go!! coasterman7
I'll be honest, when I first saw the name for this ride, I thought it was a joke. I just never thought Saw would influence the theme of a ride. But it looks pretty cool nonetheless and looks like it will be a fun ride!
