Arn'O
That looks better than i excepted! My favourite part is that last roll straight to the brake run. And the colours look great too. dcxs
It does exist now: https://www.google.se/maps/@57.6926705,11.9950002,490m/data=!3m1!1e3 The diagonal bridge is an old road bridge btw. Ok, it exist but isn't accessible to the public, if you look at the full picture you can see that you will now be able to walk there, next to Mechanica. cookiex
The press release also stated that the Wave Swinger will be moved to a new location in order to make way for Valkyria and a new dark ride replacing Sagoslottet will come a few years down the road. Construction has already begun on the station building, on the former site of Kanonen. Other attractions will be running as usual until late summer, when the Fairy Tale Castle and Wave Swinger need to shut down to make room for Valkyria. The Wave Swinger will be placed in a new location in 2018, and there are plans to replace the Fairy Tale Castle in a few years with a similar attraction. A.J.
Sheesh, I feel bad for poor Jukebox. It looks kind of shoehorned in, out of place between Valkyria and Loke.
mjollner
This has got to be my favourite dive-coaster layout ( at least conceptually). I like that it starts and then just keep going to the end... A splash-down would have been cool at the end... Because it adds a cool dimension to any park that has it. That's how I feel about dive-coasters in general... They're big, impressive and add a ton of spectacle even for people not riding. And on a side note, and at the risk of ticking some people off. These Ima-scores do nothing for me. A nicely themed area with a great theming does not need speakers with wondrous music to sell the idea. I like the physicality of being in the presence of a roller-coaster, and I want to feel and hear that physicality. Adding Hans Zimmer-cloned music just adds a dimension of fake-ness I don't need... but I'm difficult like that, and to each his own. Anyway, can't wait to get to Liseberg next year and ride this baby.
matteocrepaldi
Looks like a pretty good ride! The view from the edge of the first drop is going to be amazing! A good new dark ride will be another good addition in the future! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
wmay
That's like the 4th time that wave swinger is moved to a new location. Anyway, I'm super excited about all this new info. It took a minute considering that we had the full layout for Helix 2 years before it opened.
Rajalaxo
Unfortunately, the premier of Loke must be postponed for a week, Liseberg announced today through a press release. They write that some details such as decorations, programming the ride and training staff are not completely finished yet. This is due to a delay in the beginning of the construction process. www.mynewsdesk.com/se/liseberg/news/oeppningen-av-loke-skjuts-fram-en-vecka-236257
alejon
Liseberg just announced that the opening of Loke has been delayed with one week until April 29, they still have some finishing touches and need more time to train the staff. Some testing can be seen in the video below, although when operating Loke will swing approx. 30 degrees higher. [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew]
gerstlaueringvar
Haven't been on a Zamperla Giant Discovery yet but Intamin's big Gyro Swing is by far the best frisbee style ride I've been on. Look forward to this one!
Nrthwnd
UGh. One of those ^^ did me in during the TPR 2012 China Tour, I think. Probably a Happy Valley franchise park - I've blocked out where I rode it. And I skipped the one in Tusenfryd, when TPR returned there in 2014. Great for taking video +/or photos, not for riding any more, unfortunately.

Liseberg actually did a competition to celebrate the opening of Loke where they took some winners to the Happy Valley park's Loke style ride. I can't find the video anymore though the title might of been Swedish.
alejon
^Here's the video! Liseberg also posted a new video on Loke, with some POVs. Looks really cool the way you swing up against Balder! [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew]

viking86
Liseberg also posted a new video on Loke, with some POVs. Looks really cool the way you swing up against Balder! Thanks for sharing the video! Loke will definitely give some interesting views of Balder that we have not been able to get before. I wasn't really planning to visit Liseberg this year with Valkyria opening next year, but given how great Liseberg is I could easily make the trip every year. The people of Gothenburg are really lucky to have this amazing park in their city!

alejon
Due to the layout of Valkyria the fairytale castle will be removed in the end of the season and the waveswinger will be moved. /// Marcus According to GP, ( http://www.gp.se/nyheter/göteborg/klassiska-lisebergsattraktionen-skrotas-1.4246612 ) it will actually be a new wave swinger, although the look and feel will be the same. As for Sagoslottet, the general public seem to be somewhat sad/disappointed to see it go. Many have grown up riding it, the ride is originally from 1968 and was changed into its current form in 1985. But as Liseberg stated a new dark ride aimed at children is in planning, according to Göteborg Direkt http://www.goteborgdirekt.se/nyheter/snipp-snapp-snut-sa-var-sagan-slut/repqdu!GAZfJxqxIGWWk7p5RM@7Q/ it will be placed close to the rabbit land, I'm not sure where it would fit there though to be honest. Personally I feel that Liseberg has really changed a lot the last 10-15 years, mostly for the better although some of the nostalgia is gone. lond
After joining the local #MarchForSience in Göteborg, I payed Liseberg a visit in the sunny spring weather on the summer season premiere. The red carpet was rolled out to greet the visitors: Helix <3 Loke is BIG Mechanica Valkyria construction site: All Burger King-restaurants are now replaced by MAX You can ride Valkyria in VR Liseberg was testing Loke (just to make us come back next week ) Really close to Balder Liseberg has done a really good job with the theming of the station area of Loke Loke in full swing More MAX hamburger restaurants Did two rides on AreoSpin, my results was 60 & 57 spinns The Evert Taube exhibition is now replaced with one abut Håkan Hellström. (He doesn't play my kind of music, so I will nothing more about him ) I will leave you all with a photo of Helix until next Thursday I know that I haven't been that active on TPR lately due to I have been busy at work and my car got rear ended by a truck last month and the doctors advice was to take it easy for a while. But no neck or back pain

Nrthwnd
Great report on the area around Loke and the ride itself. Love the park. Love the park. I repeat: Love - The - Park. But...."MAX"? Is that a local or European franchise? I don't remember seeing one on any past TPR tours. But then, I remember most of the traveling, I was looking at everything BUT hamburger spots. I'm just curious, thanks. And glad you're okay, after that rear ender. OOPS! It's okay. I looked, and I found the Swedish MAX chain. I like it's menu!
