DougMJr Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Beautiful photos, and the quality is really good! ^^Same here, I love how it doubles-up right under the barrel roll! Oh, there will be airtime!
Zem Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I was at the park almost every day last summer, and that was before Iron Rattler. I'm pretty sure I should just live there this summer. You're so luck that you get to live in San Antonio near the park. Either way I'll be visiting at least twice this summer since it is only like a 3 hour drive or so from Houston. I don't have my license yet but once I do I plan on driving up to SFFT and SFOT next summer. Can't wait to ride this beauty! It looks soooooo smooth.
beatle11 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 This is going to be one scary coaster! Can we skip ahead to the end of July?
Meangreen16 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Ugggggg...............http://screamscape.com/html/sfft-rattler_2.htm
cstrfrk67 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Just to let y'all know, I've been forwarding some of your comments to my coworkers at RMC. We're very proud that Irat, and Outlaw, are the coasters nearly everyone is talking about. Anything less than a #1 and #2 best new coaster vote this year for these two masterpieces, would be a crime. We are anxiously awaiting the 1st test runs as well, and the day is drawing near.........PLEASE STAY TUNED!!!!!!
jray21 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I'm loving all these pictures. This really is an amazing looking ride. I think I may visit my in-laws in Texas as an excuse to stop by the park.
BrandonR Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Great pics! As painful as it is to say, this ride will have to try hard not to whoop NTAG. Too bad they weren't building this thing when I was going to UTSA for those 2 years. Hmm, actually no... My grades would probably have been even worse.
jps294 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Gully Washer's water looks so refreshing haha I need to go ride it before it goes back. =p

I went to UTSA from 1997-1999 and I remember trying to "study" in the library. There used to be a spot in the library with floor to ceiling windows and it overlooked the park. I would always find myself just staring at the rides instead of studying.
jps294 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 For anybody living under a rock in the past several months, this is what is coming! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]

TyRush Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 ^WAIT!!! Its a hybrid coaster??!! I love the orange track in the Texas sun! Looks bright
CpBluestreakCp Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Wow, this coaster just looks amazing. It will be interesting hearing the reviews for it, maybe it will come out on top over NTAG? I'm sure these pictures don't do this coaster justice, though. One day, I'm gonna have to get to Texas and ride.
omgitsmatt93 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I didn't know RMC had hired Jesus to design their coasters! This thing looks insane!
vacoaster09 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Cool photo of gunslinger and Iron Rattler from Ride Entertainment Group of Companies Flickr:
SFFTfan Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I went to the park today and saw that one of the trains is now in the maintenance area. Also, i wonder if they will put 2 cars at the iRat entrance as there are 2 squares spray painted at the iRat entrance. Best I could get with the cell phone
boardwalkbullet91507 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 ^YES! Yes yes yes!!!! Testing must be coming up very soon! Does anyone think they will do a two-car test first like they did on NTAG before they do a full train test run or are they just going to skip straight to the full train test?
MINICoupe Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Considering how it looked just last weekend, I'd be very surprised if there were any test runs "very soon." Most of the road steel was still lying on the ground and there were workers all over the layout adjusting the track gauge and such. If I had to venture a guess, I'd think testing in early April, assuming good weather between now and then. Maybe Mid-April. The above is purely speculation. However, if the park is aiming for a Memorial Day opening, they still have plenty of time. I'd think that Memorial Day would be perfect: three-day weekend, tons of folks at the park, plenty of time for out-of-towners to drive to SA and back and still have a full day at the park, AND there's an ACE event the very next weekend.

SFOverTexasFan Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Can't wait for IRAT! I recently heard that the park is shooting for a Memorial weekend opening. So I'm sure test runs will start mid April.
Barge84 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 They just released a POV video on the SFFT Facebook page!
RCT3Bross Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Sweet. I wish I could go to Texas this year but it seems I have to wait a year. Looks like a great ride.
jps294 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 ^ Great Pictures from RMC! Here are my pictures I took today on March 12, 2013. Sorry photos are from Iphone. Note to any future planners to the park... Don't go during Spring Break.
Mrlittle Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 ^ thanks for the photo update. I just want to ride the Iron Rattler RIGHT NOW!
