Blatch Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 So strange to see a B&M with a curved drop, but no pre-drop. It violates everything I know and love about my life! Still an awesome coaster coming together, though.
2012jarrett Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Just realized how beautiful Banshee's going to look across that lake! They get rid of Sling Shot and move it to Cedar Point or X-Base and it's even better! There's a perfect spot for it in X-Base and it would open up ability to expand behind Banshee. Thanks for the pictures! It all looks great!
Vonni Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 ^ I agree that it would open up nice space for a new Flat, but I dont think Slingshot will leave KI anytime soon, as from what I've come to understand it is very popular at KI.
Geauga Dog Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Sling Shot is VERY popular, especially when they have $10 per ride deals in the morning like Xtreme Skyflyer. Instead of removing it they should relocate it to Coney Mall (where Flight Commander used to be and is now the Dinosaurs Alive event pavilion. Besides the Oktoberfest section of the park needs a bit of an update and a couple of flats would be nice in that spot. Mason and Kings Mills are always so pretty around the end of the season. Riding The Beast when the colors are at their peak is one of the best times to ride the coaster. It's beautiful and amazing at the same time.
2012jarrett Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I didn't say Sling Shot was leaving or that it wasn't popular. It's a great moneymaker, just not one I want to do. I hate heights! XD I meant I think it's good for Kings Island and Cedar Fair and they shouldn't take a wrecking ball to it, just move it somewhere else in the park so they can undo the lockin in that Paramount did that's blocked them off from the rest of the land the park owns. I could see a round path winding around under Banshee's drop connecting Action Zone to X-Base. I'm watching them put the dive loop up right now and HOLY CRAP it's big! I take back what I said about it looking stupid, that's going to look great with the train storming through it, there's no way it doesn't suck all the blood out of your head. I'm thinking something like Afterburn's Immelmann. And I got my driver's license a few hours ago! It's official, this'll be the first coaster I drive to!
noahman12345 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 has anyone ate at the new sit down restaurant at the park; i went Saturday and my experience was horrible. 34 minutes to get a drink. The wings were good thow.
PKI Jizzman Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Nope, I wasn't going to pay those prices - instead you can go to the Beir Garten and get 15 wings for 8.99 to share with someone! On a Saturday though I would believe it was very crowded, but 30 minutes to get a drink is just plain stupid.
CoasterStreak Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 The first time I went, it was only like their 15th day in operation, and we waited for an hour to get food. I was not happy then. I went again in July, and decided to give it another try. That time it only took 10 minutes to get my food. I'm not sure what the difference was, other than it was later in the season.
2012jarrett Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I ate at Red's Hall of Fame with my cousin, her husband, and my sister and I was the one who paid, it wasn't outrageous at all. Forget the exact number, but it was just like eating out at a chain sit-down restaurant. I had the hot dog and it was really good, and so are their homemade chips!
Skramp Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 It looks like they've put the entrance and exit for the loop up before finishing the dive loop. Am I seeing that right?
mikeykaise Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 you do, looks like almost they have two crews working on both sections.
PVA62 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 One more piece of track and the dive loop will be complete!
PKI Jizzman Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 These photos are from Today! Damn that's a good looking inversion! Looks like a nice little snap at the top. http://www.kicentral.com/photos/displayimage.php?album=349&pid=8421#top_display_media Photo from KIcentral.com
RCT3Bross Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 It looks like they only need to bolt it and their done with the Dive. This is one good looking ride, I wished I could come to America next year and try it out.
firewalk13 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 This is going to be a real beauty! Also the reason I didn't hesitate to renew my platinum pass...
johnnyknottsville Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 That is gorgeous!!! only thing I hope is that it rides as good as it looks, which in B&Ms case they have some absolutely visually stunning rides but they leave a lot to be desired when it comes to the actually ride imo
SteveStL Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 These guys must be getting a big bonus for finishing early!
Skramp Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Check out this other pic from the construction pics at KI Central, that looks like it will be incredibly close to the ground if they leave it this way. Source
pyrocoasterkid Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 To add to this ^, another pic from KICentral...it really looks a trough may be dug out here. It just doesn't seem like it is currently enough room for the train, legs/feet and a little extra space there. Or maybe it is just really deceptive, but I don't think so:
rcjp Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Looks like a nice little snap at the top In a certain way I kind of wish there was, but I highly doubt that. The train will probably go through that bit relatively slowly and sometimes the angle of the picture can be deceiving and lead us to believe that the track is shaped slightly different than it really is. (I've noticed this many times on dive and immelmann loops) I don't think we will be seeing snaps like in raptor's cobra roll anymore from B&M.

Absolutely. Is it probable? Yeah, maybe not anymore. Who knows. New trains, no more 'headbanging' etc.
jray21 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 It's a pretty decent looking ride. They really seem to be moving fast on it.
_koppen Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 ^ Vertical construction have been going on for 2 months now, so I wouldn't say it's going that fast.
